The Chefs' House- George Brown CollegeThe food was outstanding! The food was outstanding!
Our server had no knowledge as to how and when to serve wine. Coffee service was also poor. Other wait staff, with water and food were fine.
Thanks to the wonderful chefs,we would return.12/4/2013 12:00:00 AMSpecial Birthday EveningWhat a pleasant surprise last night when treating my better half to a lovely meal for her birthday. It was so easy to order flowers with a card online, and the staff at the Chef's House had everything ready on the table for when we got there. The service was excellent and really made the birthday girl feel special. To top it all off, they took the time to write a personal Happy Birthday on the dessert plate! I unwittingly left the bare minimum 15% tip and later returned to double that and extend my personal gratitude. I highly recommend the Chef's House for food afficionados and those that appreciate the effort that goes into the preparation...
Philip12/3/2013 12:00:00 AMAlmost perfectThe food was exceptionally good --better than in many supposedly top-line restaurants in Toronto. The wines (one glass each) were very good, served at the right temperature, and nicely complementary to the food we chose.
There was some sort of hitch concerning dessert, which arrived very late and with apologies from the server.
We would definitely return.6/13/2013 12:00:00 AMCreative educationI love the modern dinning room. You can see he students cooking your meals in the kitchen. The place is so clean and and brightly lit. The menu are different every time I went. The meals are carefully prepared for colour and taste. The plates used and presentation is flawless. The food is delicious at reasonable priced. The restaurant is right across the St James Garden in the neighbourhood of the historical old City Hall and the St Lawrence market. Great location for tourists and locals to enjoy the urban landscape.
You feel an added satisfaction because you also provide a learning opportunity for students to practise their skills.
I strongly recommend that you try this restaurant.6/12/2013 12:00:00 AMFor a treatVisit the Che's House for s different experience.

AttentiveLovely welcome. Attentive wait staff. The room has beautiful exposed brick and high ceilings. Amuse bouche (cured fish and pickled pear) tickled the taste buds. The chicken liver mousse appetizer melted in your mouth and the sablefish was cooked to perfection. We highly recommend The Chef's House - George Brown College.5/31/2013 12:00:00 AMlovely lunch with Friends4 of us celebrated a birthday at The chefs house!
Food was Very well presented , tasty, and exciting.
There varied choices - something for everyone.
Service was good, with the wait staff all being students of the Culinary arts program!
loved the home made Riccotta and Quinioa Salad .
will go back a gain soon!5/22/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Experience!!The food was very good, the atmosphere was energetic. Service was very attentive because there are so many servers, runner, bussers, chefs, etc. working there the whole time. Most of the people working are culinary and hospitality students. They are attentive and helpful but miss some of the nuances of having experience. This includes forgetting to ask if we want more coffee, bringing our food and forgetting to ask if we need anything else, trying so hard to remember what they have been taught that they forget to smile...
Lunch service was a bit slow but enjoyable to watch all the hustle and bustle.
Overall it was a good experience and would recommend it.5/22/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat fn at this outstandingGreat fn at this outstanding gourmet spot.Watch the young chefs prepare your amazing food under the watchful eye of the master chefs.the servers are students at the Hospitality School.Be patient and understanding and enjoy.5/14/2013 12:00:00 AMgreat outingGenerally a great place to eat, students try to hard to be perfect and we know they are learning.
Table set up is great, service is great, food is almost always great....once in a while find something not so tasty or meat not tender or too dry....happens at home too!
very polite staff, love it.
I come there all the time and bring guests as well.
keep up the great work.5/13/2013 12:00:00 AMA return to the neighbourhoodMy daughter had been away all year at school and this was her first time back in TO. As a former waitress and a current student, we thought she would enjoy the good food and student ambiance. What a delight! It was the student's first day there was a little hesitation and nubie bumbling but the kids all worked ever so hard under their mentors guidance. Mistakes were made but quickly corrected with grace and care. The food was amazing, local seasonal and cooked to perfection. So elegantly and colorfully presented. Not your average restaurant for sure, one with care, education and aspiration.5/13/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat ValueWe have been to the Chefs House on more than one occasion. We have found the food to be reliably very good, the service to be friendly and attentive. We like being able to watch the kitchen on the TVs and talk with the student servers. We enjoy supporting the College as they train future chefs and restaurant staff. Food is always well prepared and nicely presented. We also enjoy the special evenings when a particular chef is highlighted. We find we get excellent value for the dollar and recommend the Chefs House highly. We are also planning on holding a special occasion there on a weekend.1/1/0001 4:00:00 PM
