My wife and I went for a quite dinner. Food was excellent and the wait staff even better. The views of Lake George were amazing and the Jazz Duo provided a great backdrop to the meal without being over powering. We will be back before the summer is over!

My partner and I thoroughly enjoyed our dinner. Our table was on the porch overlooking the lawn and the lake; it could not have been lovelier. The food was great too. The selection is limited to few items but from we ate and saw other tables order they all seem to be winers. The grilled shrimp appetizer was fantastic as was the lamb lollipops. My main course was the fish special of the day and was delicious as was my partner's steak. The flour-less chocolate cake was a wonderful ending to the meal. We highly recommend the Chateau on the Lake for a special dining experience in Bolton Landing.

We thought the Chateau was great in many ways - excellent food and great service. However, I think the menu was very limited and the prices too high for Bolton Landing. Also, you could not find a bottle of wine for $50, everything was over $80 with the majority being at least several hundred dollars. The waitress did recommend a decent wine by the glass for $10 which was quite good. Overall, I like the Chateau but would like to see the owner make changes. It is the most expensive place to dine in Lake George.

We ate at this place 7 months ago during the offseason and enjoyed it. This time, however, the service was thoroughly disorganized and unprofessional. Inexcusable in a place where entres are typically $40-50 and the cheapest red wine was $85/bottle! The other 4 people in my party thought their food was good (albeit overpriced) but my 'rotisserie chicken' at $32 was nowhere near as good as the one I routinely get for $5 at Costco. All in all a thoroughly disappointing evening.

We had amazing drinks, appitezers and the entrees were delicious! Our only complaint would be there should of been some kind of starch or grain with the halibut curry dish. It was accompanied by 3 slivers of cucumber. Defiantly needed some greens or potatoes with it. We will be back but for the bill we still could of ate a little bit more.. One more bit it would of been perfect!!

I took my mother here for a ladies lunch. What a fantastic place, we dined on the porch with views of the Lake. The service was wonderful , our server Ashley was knowledgable and helpful with menu suggestions. This place has not been discovered yet, they have been open for a year. The tapas menu was just perfect for a lunch on the porch. Food presentation was beautiful. I would highly recommend this place, we will be back.

This tucked away little spot in Bolton Landing was a truly wonderful experience. From the time we arrived until our departure, the service was fast and personable. The portions were plentiful and expertly prepared. The staff picked up on the hint of my Girlfriend's birthday being celebrated and provided a candle for her dessert as well as a modest and appropriate version of "Happy Birthday". The local drink selections were delicious and enjoyable. I look forward to my next visit.

Outstanding restaurant for a special occasion; beautiful view and great service. Ambiance could not be better, and all the food was creative and delicious. Menu was slightly limited in that there was no vegetarian, pasta or chicken options. This is fine if you are a meat or fish over, but one of our party eats only chicken or pasta and there were no selections in this category.

Had a special occasion lunch here after reading about it in local paper. The setting is beautiful right on Lake George. It was a beautiful summer day and we were seated on the porch. There is also a patio and other lower tables flanked by Adirondack chairs a little closer to lake. The lunch selections were small with hot entrees on one side of menu and cold ones on other side. About 5 of each. We each had a glass of wine, a little pricey for a very small pour in my opinion. I don't mind paying $13 dollars for a glass of wine, but would like more than a half cup. We chose a caprese salad,Kobe beef sliders and lobster Mac and cheese. All were delicious and beautifully presented. We even got complimentary watermelon soup from chef.

This place is very inviting---so very much so that we and some of the staff expressed surprise that on a Saturday night on a major holiday weekend numerous people were arriving in golf shirts, shorts and sandals without reservations. (Even so, these walk-ins were treated very well by the busy staff.) Yet this is an elegant place with a unique dining ambience for Bolton's Landing--where you might think to dress up a bit, even in summer, and not where you'd expect walk-ins. Anyway, the meal was delicious, but we do agree with some of the other comments that Chateau is a bit overpriced.

The Chateau on the Lake had the best food we had in Bolton Landing. We stayed at the Sagamore where the food was disapointing. The cheese and meat platter was huge and delicious. They did not have scallops which put a damper on the menu a little. Strangely enough they have linen tablecloths but paper napkins like at a diner.

Dining at The Chateau on the Lake was one of the very best dining experiences I've EVER had. It was our 7 year anniversary and Chad, our dinner attendant, made the evening awesome! The grounds also were stellar, ambient, relaxing, and just AWESOME! The lazy fire welcomed us, it was the perfect energy to relax to on the grounds, watch the evening envelop us and prepare for a relaxing celebration. The hostess staff and drink waitress made us feel welcome and invited. Their professionalism mixed with authentic appreciation made me feel like I was the most important person at your restaurant. THAT reveals experience and proper training. My wife's dirty Martini was perfect (she knows her Martini's) and that put her over the moon!

We have never been disappointed by the Chateau on the Lake. This season the early menu has moved to a tapas selection that has variety and very interesting combinations. While we favor the charcuterie plate and the fresh bread, we have enjoyed all of our selections! The staff are great and helpful. You can dine on the porch (our favorite) or inside, and there are a number of seating clusters on the patio and lawn (including fire pits) for socializing or watching the boats go by.

We made a reservation ahead of time for our group of 8, when we arrived the place was not busy, just 3 other tables to serve, they had set our table outside as we requested, unfortunately they installed a big tent in front that blocked the lake view, which was one of the reasons why we choose the place, so we were dissapointed. After we ordered, we had to wait over 45 minutes to get our food, salads, sandwich and burgers, and on top of that plates didn't arrive at the same time so some people had to start eating while others had to keep waiting. They tried to make it up to us by offering free desserts but we is totally unacceptable the amount of time the kitchen took for a simple plates specially when the restaurant was not busy.

Menu is very limited and very overpriced. Only 6 main courses. After we ordered the waiter told us that they ran out of pasta. Took an hour to bring appetizers. My 10 year old fell asleap and didn't eat anything. Surf and turf at $38 had 2 scallops and 2 lamb chops. Lamb chops for two at $61 was just enoght for one. When we complained to the waiter, the owner was in the back and didn't want to come out. I felt like we were ripped off. There was a couple behind us who complained to the waiter as well. Whould not recommend it to anybody.

As you approach this restaurant, its clear that the owner has set the expectations high. The place is gorgeous, the atmosphere sublime, the menu superb, but the execution abysmal -- leaving us superbly disappointed and unable to recommend this restaurant. The menu is limited -- 5 options for entrees -- which is OK, but they ran out of nearly everything -- the wine we wanted, the recommended appetizer, our entree choice (which we were informed of 15 minutes after ordering) -- 2 of the 5 desserts. The alternate choices were a joke -- penne with marinara? At this restaurant? Or another entree at 2x the price? The owner seemed to not be interested in the myriad of customer complaints. For this price point, we expected much, much more.

Fabulous find! We stayed at the Sagamore(one mile away) but their fine dining was booked due to wedding. Stumbled upon the Chateau On The Lake. Opened late summer 2013 so no long track record yet. We were there busy Memorial Day weekend 2014 but the staff pulled everything off without a hitch. Cool/unique indoor outdoor dining with tables on lawn overlooking Lake George. Perhaps best steak ever(with African spices?) and charcuterie plate outstanding, a meal in itself. Absolutely a memorable experience, we wish it were closer to where we live, this would become a regular part of the rotation. Not someone to give out five stars easily but this place was fabulous. Cool, hip, great drink selection and outstanding food. A home run!

We went on Mothers Day and of course we knew it would be busy. We also knew this was upscale and the food would be sized and priced accordingly. Well, the wait was ridiculous (we had a reservation) luckily it was a beautiful day so we relaxed. There was a man appearing to be a manager that quickly got us drinks. When it was time to take our order(a mere 45 minutes later) the server said "so what do you want?" My husband almost blew up there but did not (it was mothers day) point being there was no offer to describe any of the selections or answer any questions. So we ordered, the portions were delicious but exceedingly small. My son on a surprise visit home was starving so we had to take him somewhere for lunch!!!

The location, building and views are spectular. The food just isn't there yet. Menu is interesting and wine list is great. Been there twice. Keep hoping the food will rise to the surroundings. But not yet. Ordered the pork. Sauce was good but the meat was over cooked. Crab cake app was mostly filler with no chucks of crab. Place has great potential but hasn't hit the mark yet.
