This place has delicious food and
great service. It was a very romantic restaurant and had a great selection."

presentation-all delightful. We had a quiet, delicious dinner before the theater. A perfect evening out."
Dined on 2/28/2014
We had great service and great
food. Our server, Eric, choose the cheeses from the appetizer list, and was quick to bring tastes of different wines to help with that selection. Our food came out hot at the perfect time. This is a great place to have a special dinner."
Dined on 2/21/2014
This is always a good place to go
for date night. The food was not as good as it has been in the past but still a lot better value and quality than other places in town. Would recommend for anyone traveling into town and want a little local feel of Tulsa or looking for intimate dining experience. All in all it was a good experience and will still go back."
Dined on 2/15/2014
My husband and I dined here for
Valentines Day. Horrible waiter service. Skipped 2 of the 5 course pre fixed meal. Never refilled water or bread. Food was less then pleasing to the eye and the palate. I have an upcoming physician conference and I was thinking of hosting it here...it will not happen. I have had better food, waiter service and overall customer service at the Cheesecake Factory. That states a lot. I did pay my bill of over $160.00 and then went home to cook for myself and my husband."
Dined on 2/14/2014
The meal and wine were delicious.
As always the portions were just right, and the presentation beautiful. You and your team were kind and welcoming, and made a special evening extra special. Compliments toi the chef too."

My wife and I have enjoyed
Chalkboard for several anniversaries and special date nights. We find it to be intimate and friendly with an excellent menu always cooked to perfection. Coupled with a night's stay at the Ambassador Hotel, it is a perfect combination close to home."
Dined on 1/31/2014
Meh. The service was great, and
the atmosphere was incredible. But the food? Meh. It was bland, cold, and overpriced."
Dined on 1/19/2014
it was all very good, but it
wasn't anything outstanding or super special. It was worth trying, but I think there are better restaurants and other things I would try first before I go back."
Dined on 1/9/2014
We'd never eaten at The
Chalkboard. It was recommended by a friend who owns a restaurant where we live. It did not disappoint. We started with calamari, salads were great. All 3 entrees ordered at our table were great. Highly recommend petit filet and lobster ravioli."
Dined on 1/4/2014
We went there for an evening meal
because it was open on New Year's Day. We had the rack of lamb and it was prepared just as we requested. Overall, excellent dining experience!"
Dined on 1/1/2014
The menu description was not what
was served. The Beef Wellington was about 2 ozs of meat wrapped in phylo dough, no pate. I ordered medium rare, it was well done. Did not eat it, nor would my dog. The chicken the other two family members ordered was also not edible. The $42.00 Prime Rib looked like a flat steak, very thin, with a few sprinkles of blue cheese on the top. Ordered medium, it came rare. Worst restaurant food I have ever had!"
Dined on 12/25/2013
The food is always good!! A great
Bloody Mary!! Love the ambience. The service was a tad less than I would expect. A little more attention would have gone a long way."
Dined on 12/22/2013
Excellent Christmas day brunch.
Incredibly large selection of salads, entrees an deserts. The Chalkboard may become a Christmas day tradition!"
Dined on 12/25/2013
I had heard this was a GREAT
holiday brunch. Had folks in from Texas and wanted to take them someplace outstanding. Was a little disappointed that we did not get the attention that I thought we should. Also having to walk upstairs to lobby to get food was less than what I wanted to do. Would go there again but not have such a high expectation. My fault for not checking into things further."
Dined on 12/25/2013
The service was excellent and the
food outstanding. They were helpful with the wine selection and the waiter was attentive but didn't hover. A real treasure in a world of chain restaurants. Excellent chef!"
Dined on 12/23/2013
This was the absolute best meal we
have had in the Tulsa are in quite some time. While there are often little things that might need improvement in most restaurants, this meal was exquisitely perfect in flavor, temperature, and presentation. It was a fabulous experience and we will be returning more often. Service was outstanding as well!"
Dined on 12/22/2013
The Chalkboard continues to
provided good food. Our service was really slow but there were some holiday parties going on at the same time. The atmosphere is nice and romantic. Will return!"
Dined on 12/14/2013
Excellent! !! We had a very
enjoyable dining experience! !"
Dined on 11/30/2013
Rack of Lamb and wahoo dinners
were outstandig! Beef Wellington & Scallop main courses selections had excellent flavor but proportions were appetizer sized. Beef was maybe 4 ounces, over-cocked (medium rare ordered, medium well received) and three small scallops. The fifth dinner, the most expensive item on the menu, was an inedible "prime" rib eye, the cut was thin and griscelly. More was expected for $300+!!"
Dined on 11/29/2013
Always a pleasure to dine at the
Chalkboard. Great brunch menu on Sunday; excellent mimosas; superior service."
Dined on 11/24/2013
The food was outstanding, the
service was excellent, and the ambience would be great if you were on a date."
Dined on 11/12/2013
Bread pudding is to die for!!!
Don't ever take this off the menu"
Dined on 10/31/2013
attentive to detail--with a
relaxed smile. I would love to eat here all the time"
Dined on 11/1/2013
I've eaten at the Chalkboard 3 or
4 times and it's always high quality food paired with wonderful service. What's more to ask?"
Dined on 10/20/2013
We were traveling for business and
booked a res here. Great beef wellington. We stopped at a bar a little over a mile away for a pre-dinner drink and were then going to catch a cab to the restaurant. Unfortunately, we ran into issues getting the cab so i called the restaurant and let them know we were running late and we headed out. It was a cold and a little rainy but we figured the walk would do us good. About halfway to the restaurant a guy pulls up and asks us if we are going to the chalkboard and offered to drive us there. That guy turned out to be Josh, the GM for the chalkboard. He took the initiative to come out and find us and take us to the restaurant. BEST SERVICE EVER! Service and food that night were great!"
Dined on 10/17/2013
We met another couple for brunch.
It was good food, and noise level was such that we could easily visit. Wait staff were great! Very fun time with good food!!"
Dined on 9/15/2013
This little "hole in the wall"
place located on the basement level of the Ambassador Hotel in downtown Tulsa is one of the best kept secrets in town. Even though it seems like it's in an obscure location, when you walk in, you realize that you're in a classy dining establishment. The menu items are select, and gourmet cuisine is included, but the prices are reasonable. It's a great spot for a casual lunch, or an even better spot for a first, or important romantic date. Ambience is quiet, but wait staff is vibrant and friendly. Service was OUTSTANDING. We never had to ask for more water or tea...and we got a slice and a half of the bread pudding we asked to take with us. These are just two small examples of how well they took care of us!"
Dined on 9/11/2013
We dined at The Chalkboard for my
husband's birthday. We were staying at the Ambassador Hotel, so we brought our 1.5 year old to dinner with us. I was nervous to bring her along to such a fine dining restaurant, but the staff couldn't have been more helpful to accommodate our family and the food was absolutely outstanding. Definitely one of the best restaurant experiences we've had and we'll go back next time we're in Tulsa."
Dined on 9/8/2013
Hadn't been in years. Now will be
back often. Great food great service great atmosphere."
Dined on 8/25/2013
We love this restaurant! Food is
outstanding and service is excellent. A must for any occasion."
Dined on 8/4/2013
The Beef Wellington was stewed.
The crab cakes were overwhelmed with garlic. The server and the wine were good. Overpriced by a mile. Location was lovely. We sat in the wine storage area. The dank moldy smell was a bit much."
Dined on 8/3/2013
A bit disappointing. The $26
salmon dinner was delicious, but the $32 Scallops dinner left the diner hungry. Three Scallops, a bit of Kale and runnny Risotto and then they charged us the hotel tax, and we were not staying in the hotel."
Dined on 7/21/2013
We had excellent service on the
Fourth of July. The artisan cheese platter was a must. The entrees were the size they are supposed to be. If you know how to dine and enjoy doing so this place is great. With a knowledgable staff, and great chef I enjoyed my experience from start to finish. I will be back."
Dined on 7/5/2013
the restaurant seats quite a large
number of people, yet one gets the feeling they are dining intimately. The food choices were very good and portions were just right. Overall service, food, ambience were very good. A place I will recommend."
Dined on 6/23/2013
I chose the Chalkboard after
scouring menu's online for a trip to tulsa. I landed on the chalkboard because of its diverse, but small menu. It skipped the steak and pasta of most nice restaurants and offered beef wellington, duck etc. This was a good decision, as even the specials were "special," gator bites, and rabbit lasagna! The food was well reviewed by all guests, and although the presentation wasn't top notch, it was still relatively well delivered. The service was good, as I don't like to be bothered much, and the atmosphere was dim, and intimate. The dining room was small, with only ≈10 tables, but, after a short time, I no longer noticed. For some new, and complex dishes, try the chalkboard!"
Dined on 6/16/2013
We made a lunch reservation for a
small business lunch with 10 people. When we arrived they were prepared for us and sat us immediately. Food was very good, we ate in the basement which I would recommend as it feels much more private."
Dined on 6/13/2013
Excellent menu - delicious food -
outstanding service. A total win."
Dined on 6/8/2013
Steak was a poor cut and not
cooked properly Fries with steak poor, no other starch offered. Slow even though restaurant was empty. Try McGill's instead"
Dined on 6/7/2013
Service was average. Food
preparation was not up to their usual excellence. Cheese plate lacked bread, honey and silverware."
