We three vegans had such a fantastic meal. The Brussel sprouts and cheese tray should not be missed. My entree was the beet ravioli which were absolutely fantastic. I was expecting beets in the stuffing but they were in the dough. FANTASTIC!

The Cellar more than lived up to its rave online reviews. We were staying in Corning overnight on our way from New York City to Canada. Luckily, we had booked a table, because the place was full when we arrived. The menu offers both tapas and full or half-size mains. Our meals were delicious - salad and lamb "lollipops" for my wife, bruschetta and steak for me - and the wine both excellent and reasonably priced. Highly recommended!

The Cellar is attractive and has a variety of great food choices. The décor is somewhat eclectic and tables are spread out which lends privacy. The high open ceiling reduces noise so you can hear the positive reactions to the delicious food! We had the hummus du jour (not too garlicky, very smooth with great flat bread), pad thai (our favorite, a large portion!), the summer greens, the falafel (both salad dishes but with light and tasty seasoning and dressing) and the coffee cured smoked salmon (very mild coffee taste, but succulent salmon!). The waitress was friendly, efficient and informative. If she didn't know all the ingredients she volunteered to find out from the chef! We enjoyed the experience and can't wait to return.

This restaurant was chosen to celebrate our 43rd wedding anniversary and it turned out to be a wonderful choice. The selection of dishes was incredibly varied ranging from vegan to meat-lovers' delight. Although it was quite busy, our waitress, Amanda, was solicitous about our time and our enjoyment of the evening. Both of us ordered the American Kobe Beef entrée never having tasted Kobe beef before. It was incredible - I ordered mine medium rare and my wife had hers cooked medium and you could actually see the difference in the meat color. It was tender and very flavorful and the garlic paté really added a nice taste to the beef. We followed up with a molten lava cake which we shared and which topped off the whole meal.

Food very good and innovative. Booth service a plus for quiet conversation. Low lighting at night. IPad wine list should go, paper is better combined with the paper menu. Also, feel like washing hands after using the iPad. User interface is too cumbersome. Nice to have half portion option.

The service was very good as well as the presentation of the dishes.. We were not very hungry and did not want a big meal so we ordered many of the small plates such as the lamb chops, the fried artichoke hearts, sliced tomatoes, scallops, etc; T The portions were small but very tasty . The more we ate the hungrier we got, but by the time we were finished we were very satisfied. We were more than happy with our choice of wine and happy with our selections.

I appreciate the new Tapas menu, and my trio had a great time shopping around for our meal there and sharing. We went pretty much all over the world :) As farmers who work with Chef Mike, we're grateful and respectful of what it means to take farm products and create a fine dining experience, and psyched to be along for the journey!

We recently dined at The Cellar after a visit to the Corning Museum of Glass. Nice atmosphere, great NY wine list, fun, flavorful, fresh food! Loved the vegan cheese board and the tapas were incredible. Happy to see an emphasis on local and organic food. Good gluten free options. I only wish we lived closer...

Entered with high hopes and left very disappointed. Entree Portions were small and not good. We had the Nachos appetizer that was tasteless, had the beet ravioli that was awful. Had the Gyro...by name, but was sliced meat, a few slices of Nanna, sauce etc. not very good at all. Prices were high, food was not good and small portions...particularly for the entrees. Would not recommend. Drinks looked good and ambiance was nice. Servers were friendly, but not very knowledgeable about the food.

My husband and I live in Corning and love to eat out. Fortunately there are many wonderful places to chose from and The Cellar without a doubt tops our list. Their changing seasonal menus have never disappointed our palettes which prefer a taste of something different yet delicious. The chef has outdone himself each and every time we have gone and we've always left discussing our amazing meal for hours to come. If you are looking for a special night out in Corning, The Cellar should definitely be your stop.

We live locally and just discovered The Cellar Friday evening. We loved it and will definitely return for many more meals. We ordered the lamb lollipops as an appetizer and they were scrumptious. The house salad was delicious with just the right amount of dressing. My husband and I had the sea scallops and pork cutlet both of which were excellent. Everything was nicely prepared, and we had great service. It was a totally enjoyable evening. Our only problem was we ate too much!

We went back to the Cellar on Father's Day. They are normally closed on Sundays. The second-string chef was on duty, and I was very disappointed with the food. We arrived for brunch, only to realize that the second-string chef was not able to pull off the phenomenal, incredible, amazing food that we had on our last visit in April. The french toast was okay, the bread was a bit soggy, the pancakes were okay, and the salmon was good. There were items missing from the salmon appetizer that we had also had on a previous visit. The caramelized onions were not served but instead raw red onions. It didn't complement the salmon the way the caramelized onions did. The lemon tart was served to us, unset so it was liquid. Not cool.

The chef is to be applauded! The food was amazing with flavors perfectly balanced to give some heat with sweet. Starting out with a salad and soup for appetizers, our palettes were well prepped for the main courses. We had the daily special pork tenderloin and the on menu chicken. Both were incredibly tasty and extremely tender with amazing sides of rice and asparagus. The wine was chilled perfectly and delicious. The chef even adapted one of the desserts for our anniversary. Highly recommended.

We came back to The Cellar while we were in Corning for the 2300 Event and Glass Fest. As with our previous visits, it was a great choice for dinner. The waiter was attentive and helpful while we were choosing from the menu. We were relatively early so the restaurant was pretty quiet during our time there. Food was excellent as was the wine. We will be sure to go back to The Cellar when we visit Corning again.

Who knew a town with a four block Main Street and a few traffic lights would have a restaurant with such a eclectic menu. They had things I had never seen put together and dishes I had eaten before but elevated to a new level. I wish we could move this place to NYC, it would be full every night.

The wine selection was amazing, the Vino-Pad helped us to narrow down our selection and then read reviews of the wines right at our table before making a final decision. They also had a decent beer list and martini menu. Our server was great! An adorable young lady with long dark hair that due to my 53 year old brain, I can't recall her name. She was attentive, friendly and gave great recommendations for dinner and dessert. Dinner consisted of Day boat scallops served perfectly prepared with caramelized tops and bottoms, tender and delectable! My husband enjoyed the beef cheeks in a trumpet mushroom sauce. The beef was tender and juicy, flavor forward without being too traditional in flavor. Dessert of Salted Caramel Ice Cream rocked!

We ordered the lamb lollipops, PEI mussels, and brussel sprouts--all excellent, followed by the chia seed pudding and avocado chocolate mousse--again, both excellent. The wine we chose was the South African Releaf Red Blend, which was perfect with our meal. Service and attention to detail were the best. We look forward to dining here again on our next visit to Corning.

The menu, food, atmosphere were really lovely. Our server was educated on the food and wines and made great suggestions for us. She was attentive and not over bearing! But she dropped the ball at the end of the evening. We had to ask for our check and then waited and waited for her to come pick it up. She was at another table really involved in conversation, so we paid our check at the bar and left. However this would not deter me from going there again. We really enjoyed the Cellar!

Nice dinner. Our waiter was efficient but a bit clueless (unable to answer basic questions about the menu and wine list without checking with the kitchen and bar). The wine list was solid but unimpressive for a place called The Cellar (and despite the Wine Spectator award). An interesting menu and good food. The place was noisy even though it was only half full, so the noise level is probably pretty bad on a busy night.

The vegan food was absolutely delicious. We are still talking about it 3 days later and we didn't have to go to Portland, OR to find it! We enjoyed the 1/2 off tapas (Happy Hour) of Tempeh BBQ Sliders and Cellar Nachos (we skipped the Crème Fraiche) and savored the entrees of Chick Pea Tagine and Masala Dosa. Dessert was topped off by the delicious Lemon Almond Tart. Our waiter Emmet was most helpful. We are definitely coming back!

We dined early in the evening on a Saturday, so the restaurant was pretty quiet, even with a small child a few tables away. The server was knowledgeable and timed the service very well. He was available, but not hovering. My twenty year old daughter requested a "virgin version" of one of the signature drinks and claimed it was superb. My chicken was perfectly cooked and nicely seasoned. The adult s'mores were a big hit at the table, but the marshmallows were a bit large to be tasted on the skinny skewers provided.

3 of us had a cozy Saturday night dinner nestled in one of their big booths. The service was impeccable - just the right amount of attention. We all decided to order the Waygu beef, at 3 different donenesses, and the steaks were served precisely as ordered. We're locals who dine at The Cellar when we want to stay in town, but have a big city-like dining experience. It's also a superb location for drinks and tapas. The expanded beer menu is great for us who don't indulge in their extensive selection of wines. We wish they were open for more meals than dinner!

The night started off good with the coll tablet to choice your beverage, but only went down after that. Wines available on the tablet were not available when ordered, but the wait staff didn't know until after they went to check. It took 20 minutes to get our first glass of wine. When our appetizer appeared the charcuterie it was dropped off and not explained. I had to get the hostess to get the manager to even get our waitress over to our table. Our waitress had no idea what was on the appetizer and if fact proclaimed "I have never seen that before". The food was delicious, although my main course the veg plate was not worth $26. It appears to be a restaurant where the chef owns it and the front of the house is a mess. I would not return.
