The Castle at DunleithAnother great eveningThe Castle is already one of our favorites but our last visit was even more impressive than usual. The new menu items were great and as always, the wine list impeccable. Although everything was delicious, the white chocolate bread pudding... to die for! We will continue to regularly dine at The Castle. Chef Seyfarth & staff prove over and over that they will never disappoint. Thanks for a great evening.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMFrom the moment we walkedFrom the moment we walked through the castle doors, we stepped into a dining experience. The service was attentive and timely, and we never had to ask for any refills or any attention. The flair of the presentation matched the unique twist on standard dishes. We would definitely return and try other dishes. Also, by eating at the restaurant, we could have returned to Dunleith the following day for a tour.4/25/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food was delicious. WeThe food was delicious. We started out with the fried green tomatoes which were by far the best we'd ever had. Then we ordered the sweet and sour pork--the fanciest BBQ I've ever tasted--, and the redfish which tasted delicious for someone who is not normally a huge fan of fish. Our server, Eric, was very welcoming, friendly, and helpful. There wasn't much of a view, but the open brick walls were rustic and artsy. It was nice to have a somewhat secluded table for our romantic evening. The dessert was also great. The only thing that was a little disappointing is we asked to have the rest of our food boxed and we never got them before we left.4/21/2013 12:00:00 AMWorth a visitA very nice evening. After the opulence of Dunleith, the room is a bit of a letdown. The food and service, however, were very good. My wife's entrée, duck breast, was tender and beautifully cooked. Portions were very generous.4/17/2013 12:00:00 AMEric was a helpful congenialEric was a helpful congenial server. Chef even came out to discuss ingredients in a dish with me. An enjoyable experience. Tuna was perfectly prepared.Salad was creative and delicious.4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMA wonderful evening was spentA wonderful evening was spent at the Castle by a group of four ladies. The setting is beautiful, located on the grounds of Dunlieth Plantation. Our server, Eric, was quite knowledgeable and entertaining concerning the menu and wine list. Our meal was delicious and his wine recommendations were spot on. We were never rushed and spent a very relaxing evening, enjoying a wonderful meal. I would definitely return.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMWe were glad to get a reservationWe were glad to get a reservation here. The grounds and buildings here are so
amazing. We enjoyed the brunch and felt it was a very reasonable price. The
food was good (however, I did not eat my pork chop as it was so tough, I had to
stop and quit chewing).4/7/2013 12:00:00 AMWe enjoyed an excellent lunchWe enjoyed an excellent lunch and great service at The Castle Restaurant at Dunleith. Lunch is a more affordable meal if you're on a tight budget. The restaurant is set in the original carriage house of Dunleith. The fireplace, table linens, glassware, and furnishings create an elegant atmosphere. Our table for two in a windowed alcove made the event even more special.4/3/2013 12:00:00 AMComing back if time permitsIt was simply a wonderful experience. I definitely recommend it if southern hospitality is truly to be enjoyed.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMA great way to start the day! When my husband and I arrived at The Castle Restaurant for our lunch reservation we were seated immediately at the prettiest table in the dining room. We were in the alcove with the windows overlooking the pool and wooded area behind the restaurant. It was a beautiful blue sky day and a great view. The table setting was lovely. Out waitress Rhonda was a delight. We had the special of the day which was blackened catish with diry rice and southern sucotash. It was wonderful. We were served a special treat of sweet potato biscuits warm from the oven just after our meal and the biscuits were a gift from heaven. The restaurant is very pretty and romantic. We can't wait to go back again.3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMWe live in St. FrancisvilleWe live in St. Francisville and look forward to dining at the Castle -- it is probably the best restaurant experience in the region. Only wish we could go more often. The food was really good. We had drinks first in the English pub style bar downstairs where it seemed to be a place for the locals to also hang out (always a good sign).3/19/2013 12:00:00 AMWe were in town for the SpringWe were in town for the Spring Pilgrimmage and found the Castle on the internet we loved it!
