When we ate there Friday the service was great! They made sure our beverages were always full & any request they took care of. However, the Rib Eye Steak was char-boiled to the point that is was burnt on the outside, cooked perfect inside. But the burntness, taste stay all evening long. We have eaten there 6 to 8 times this year and this was not one of the best meals. Also, we were so surprise how long it took us to get our meal.

We have eaten at The Carmel Room a few times prior to last Friday night. The server that we had was absolutely terrible. He had the personality of a rock. If we should dine there again in the future, would definitely request another server.

Unfortunately this steak house has continued its downward trend for years. Great service. Food slightly better than their buffet at jw marriot. Crab stuffed sole came out drenched in oil as if it was deep fried. Returned immediately. Ran out of lobster at 6pm which is usually their only great dish. 24 ounce rib eye on bone came out covered in sauce that ruined a good piece of bone. Steak was probably 12 ounces. Medium rare came out medium well. Mash potatoes right off the cafe line. Sweet potato side was more of a sugar desert. Extra dose of insulin afterwards. Years ago this place was to die for. Not anymore.

I have had the lobster tail, and steak at the Carmel Room in the past. On Saturday I tried the mixed grill. It was quite good. The scallops were tender and tasty. The shrimps were good, too. My filet was cooked exactly as I requested. The service was good as usual. As always, the women in your party are escorted in to the restaurant by the maitre d. I had an enjoyable evening.

We have eaten here several times, the food is great and everytime the server was great!! This time, the service was slow, he brought me coffee in a tea pot, poured it into my cup and poured it on the table. We ordered our desert when we ordered our food and still had to wait 25 minutes. This was very irritating. He made jokes about the tardiness, not only to us but the people sitting next to us. They did not laugh and neither did we. The Mat're de was great. He went way above his job, by clearing out plates that had sat there for at least 10 minutes. We have made reservations for the latter part of this month, but will reques a different server.

We both selected the lobster special which came with a generous helping of mashed potatoes and our waiter remembered my preference for well cooked green beans - they were perfect. Service (as indicated above) was exemplary. Friendly greeting from the host and we visited a while after dinner with no problems.

My husband and I went for our anniversary and had a great time. Located inside he JW, this little gem offers great service, a great, intimate setting and good food. All the food was wonderfully prepared, especially the chocolate soufflé. I would suggest asking for one of the little curtained rooms for any special evening!

We were a party of five celebrating three birthdays. Service was beyond outstanding. Even the Greeter come over to offer congrats and to make sure we were totally satisfied. The food was outstanding. The 1-1/2 pound ribeye steak was extremely succulent and done to perfection. Oysters sea fresh! Everyone had different salads and all were throughly fresh and enjoyable. Didn't really have room for desert but they brought us three "to die for" chocolate dessert with a candle on top for the birthday girls, gratis! We were all very happy and at 1/3 the cost of Strip prices.

My husband and I enjoyed the cozy Library room and the bread basket and salads were very good. His bone in rib eye was cooked properly but rather tough and my special fish of the evening was dry and overcooked. The disappointing aspect of the evening was the omission of any recognition of my birthday. I indicated that we would be celebrating my birthday when I made the reservation, but the maitre d' and the server never mentioned this fact and didn't give us anything as we have had in other fine dining restaurants, like a complimentary scoop of ice cream.

The restaurant itself was very nice. The ambiance was great! Very quiet and romantic. Great for a special occasion, especially couples! Host was very friendly and came over to check on us regularly. The waiter was great. Came to check up regularly and brought food out in a timely manor. Only reason I gave the restaurant four stars, was that the steak I got was under-cooked and my girlfriends was over-cooked. Overall it was great. Definitely recommend to a friend!

We were new to the restaurant and had never eaten there before. We were intrigued and pleasantly surprised to be dining in elegance. We ordered a spinach salad to start that was fantastic and they also cooked it at our table before serving. I ordered a mixed grill with a beef tenderloin, scallops and shrimp and it was heaven in my mouth. I have never had a better meal. We also ordered Prime Rib and it also was fantastic. I received a birthday dessert and it was to die for. Some type of chocolate cake with raspberry sauce and whip cream with fresh fruit. I very much enjoyed this occasion and would highly recommend this restaurant to enjoy a nice quiet night out with fabulous food offering and much more.

Bread basket: stale bread--sent it back. Replaced with fresh. Seafood platter appetizer: very good. Wilted spinach salad: too much vinegar and too wilted. Rack of lamb: chops instead, mediocre. Lobster tail: fair. Sides: steak fries: l baked potato cut in fourths and fried--awful. Creamed corn: made with cheese--sent it back and it was taken off bill. Grand Marnier soufflé: Somehow was fried and very greasy. We were here a few months ago and it was great so decided to return for birthday celebration. Will not go back.

Besides the romantic ambiance, the prime rib and rib eye were the best I've had in Vegas in 15 yrs. Cooked to perfection and served like a dish out of Bon Appetite Magazine, the food was moist and a hugh portion!! Our waiter, Johnathon, had a wonderful personality, was attentive and made our night more memorable. We would definitely return.

It felt like I was in "The Shining". The food was mid-level for the price and expectation. The lobster bisque was bland. The soufflé for dessert was definitely the highlight of the meal. We had Armando and Rupert as servers. Both were very nice and accommodating. Something just felt odd about the entire thing.

The food was outstanding as I ordered the Carmel Mixed Grill, which consisted of a 5oz Petit Beef tenderloin, Two Shrimp, Two Scallops, Mashed Potatoes, and Seasonal Vegetables - too die for! My wife ordered the Veal and that was extremely flavorful. We ordered a side of Mac-N-Cheese and was great as well. The staff was very hospitable and kept checking on us while refilling our water. The seating arrangements are sweet with private seating in little booths. I would love to go back and we will!

I have dined at the Carmel Room dozens of times over the years and normally had excellent service and food. Not this time. My companion was celebrating her birthday (and the postprandial sweet did arrive and was appreciated). When we arrived at 7, we noted that we needed to be out by 8:10, normally not a problem. The waiter arrived to take our orders (after bread and water were laid and inquiries made about drinks). Then fully ten minutes later, he came back to say he had misplaced our orders and to request to hear them again. By now it was 7:30 and we were concerned about getting out. The service continued to be less than acceptable and finally the substitute maitre'd did manage to get us out in the nick of time. Not what we expect.
