  • "There is no way that you can make a reservation at the Capital Grille and not request Margie – SHE IS as PHENOMENAL as the FOOD‼ From the minute she greets you at your table – her professionalism and warmth is second to none! Now, on with the food – also, fabulous-O! From the warm spinach salad to the salmon and scallops (sides wonderful, also) – and finishing up with cheesecake and flourless chocolate cake – YUMMY! (Oh by the way, you must visit Mike and Renee at the bar before dinner – another two of the Capital Grille’s best!)"

  • "What a fabulous day...our 28th wedding anniversary was on the Saturday we visited and were just tickled to death by the special attention given to us! So many special touches...champagne, photo... The Capital Grille made our special day even more special then we could've imagined - I highly recommend it for special occasions."

  • "From the moment you walk in the door, you are well taken care of. My husband us a carnivore-meat and potatoes kind of guy; I'm a fish and salad girl. We both always enjoy the food and exemplary service. Great wine list, too. It's one of our favorites."

  • "Unfortunately, the street workers decided to start jackhammering the street outside late Friday night. Still, it did not affect the dinner at all. The staff is very knowledgeable, friendly, hospitable, and truly enjoy their work. Every ounce of food they give you is excellent. The various breads they bring out at the start are all very good. The french onion soup was very tasty and more than plentiful if ordering the crock size. For dinner, I had the filet mignon. It was cooked a perfect rare and the truffle fries side was delectable. To finish, they brought out an extremely tasty creme brulee. Overall, its a great restaurant that is worth the price in every way. Thank you."

  • "I can't say enough good things about the Capital Grille. Everything was perfect. I had the Kona rub porterhouse, and my husband had the Delmonico. Both were cooked perfectly and delicious. We also had the crab bisque, lobster mac and cheese and creamed corn. Our waiter, Bruce, was wonderful. He could not have been more attentive. He gave great recommendations and was extremely knowledgable about the wine list. We go there every year for our anniversary and will continue to return. It's very pricey but a great place for a special occasion!"

  • "The food is always good but never great. Too pricey. The "Generous Pour" is pretty average. The wines are not very special."

  • "Capital Grille dining was excellent. Waiter was exceptional and very attentive. Explained all the food options and gave suggestions for dietary restrictions. We had Salmon and Steak which were great! The sharing side dish worked very well as dud the Salad options. Definitely plan to go back again!"

  • "It was a fantastic experience. They give you plenty of time in between courses and the staff doesn't interupt you in conversation. Would suggest to anyone getting together with friends that they haven't seen in a while."

  • "Our server, Katie, was just terrific. She gave superior service and was delightful in personallity. We go here often, and this is one of the reasons."

  • "I always order the same thing - Caesar salad with seared scallops - but this time the scallops were ovecooked, dry and rubbery. Will try again but not my best lunch."

  • "My husband and I celebrated our 20th anniversary at Capital Grille and it was perfect! We were spoiled with special touches like a champagne toast, dessert, and picture. The food (Calamari, Filet Oscar, Delmonico, Lobster Mac and Cheesed, French Beans) was delicious! Perfectly prepared, perfectly seasoned, perfectly presented. Like I said, it was a perfect night. Our waiter, J, was attentive and provided top-notch service throughout the evening. We are looking forward to our next trip to Pittsburgh so we can return to the Capital Grille."

  • "Dined at Capital Grille on Friday with a group of 6. Fantastic experience...arrived early and was immediately seated. Our waiter, Kenny G was very knowledgable and provided superior service. food was fantastic! Unbelieveable mozerella appetizer. The Delmonico was to die for. Can't wait for a return visit - best mealand dinning experience that I have had in Pittsburgh in years."

  • "The dry-aged steaks at the Capital Grille are some if the best steaks I have eer eaten. Sides are very good and enough to share with a group of 4."

  • "We have been frequent diners of The Capital Grille in Chicago, Tampa, Charlotte and now Pittsburgh. The chain serves consistently excellent food with comfortable decor and polished service. They go the extra mile for a birthday celebration with a complimentary champagne toast and a delicious complimentary dessert. A great place to celebrate a special occasion!"

  • "The food and service was excellent the waitress was outstanding!!"

  • "The steak was excellent and the ambiance was good. I had the halibut, which was a good piece of fish, but uninspired preparation that was very bland. The sides were generally good. I liked the Parmesan truffle fries a lot. Dessert was okay. Cheesecake was very good, but the hazelnut chocolate cake was huge and just okay. So, if you are steak lovers, you will probably like this place better than the non-steak lovers will."

  • "That about says it all. The food was great, the service was great, absolutely nothing to complain about."

  • "Service was great, very attentive (with so many running around, how could you not be), and helpful. Nice menu, wide selection besides steaks, but while the food was good, it was not great. Would not stop me from coming back."

  • "This place is great. Every bit of food was incredible from the Spicy Calamari to the creamed corn. Only complaint it that it is really, and I mean really DARK inside. "
    Dined on 6/3/2014
  • "Food was good but overpriced. I appreciate fine dining but the $50 steak was on par with the equivalent $24 steak at any other restaurant. I wouldn't complain if there was something that set it apart. It actually was a tad over cooked. There just wasn't anything special to justify the extra price especially when you have to add all your sides at $10 a pop. There are plenty of other restaurants in Pittsburgh that give you a memorable meal if you are spending this kind of money. The cheesecake was spectacular though. "

  • "Everything we ate was even better than we had imagined. Our server was very knowledgeable and explained the menu and the different ways that we could have our steak prepared, they seemed to really care about the customers experience. The French Onion soup and Calamari are must eats! The calamari is served with peppers so it is a bit spicy but the take on it was unique and very good."

  • "My wife and I celebrated an anniversary with our first visit to Capital Grille. We both remarked more than once about how terrific everything was: the food, the service, the wine selection (several times the size of the menu!) and the ambience. I had noted (via OpenTable) that it was our anniversary, and the staff at Capital Grille took a few extra steps to make it a fantastic experience. It's those little things that make a difference between a really good and a really great restaurant, and it's because of that experience that we'll definitely be back. Be sure to ask for Danny, who also happens to be the sommelier."

  • "Table spacing, carpeting and tablecloths help muffle noise, thereby making the restaurant good for quiet conversations. [It is only when a large noisy group is adjacent that the noise level is too high.]"

  • "This was a repeat visit for us. Tried a couple different things: the lobster bisque was excellent, porcini dusted delmonico was good (but a little too heavy on the balsamic glaze), spinach salad was excellent and the home made sorbet was the perfect finish to the meal. Tiffany was our server and she was very helpful and pleasant. We would definitely return!"

  • "The Capital Grille is an annual family tradition. I always enjoy taking my mom and sister. But prices have increased, making it a higher price point than other steak houses. I'm not sure the price differential is justified. Still enjoyed the dinner, but the increases make me want to explore my options in the city."

  • "My wife and I were in Pittsburgh for vacation, staying at the Fairmont Hotel just a block away. The Capital Grill is superb. It is beautiful inside, has an amazing wine selection and dry aged steaks. The service was excellent. Ask for Bruce, he was knowledgeable and efficient. The manager circulated making sure all guest were happy. It dry aged sirloin was one of the best steaks I've had. I highly recommend this restaurant. The next time I'm in Pittsburgh I'm going to dine here."

  • "We went to Capital Grill for Mother's Day Brunch. Interestingly, their brunch fare is very reasonably priced! We each enjoyed a great entree with plenty of the "share" sides (3 sides for 5 people) and had leftovers for a couple meals at home. Very good quality. Very spicy Bloody Mary! I'm not a fan of chains - but it's with hitting at the right time. And I'd go back for brunch!"

  • "the food was very good but this was a holiday branch and the service was kind of slow. It took a long time to get our check because of that."

  • "We had a fabulous experience at the Capital Grille. From the time we walked in the door, we were treated like queens (It was a ladies' night out!) The wait staff could not have been more attentive and the service was impeccable. Every single one of us LOVED our meals. The prices are a little high, but for the service you get and the outstanding quality of the food, it is well-worth the investment for an occasional night out on the town. We will all be back!"

  • "I was very dissatisfied with the entire event at Capital Grill in Pittsburgh. I had a reservation for 6:45 pm and we arrived early and our table was not quite ready and headed to the bar. Before we got a drink they came back to seat us. We were seated in the entrance way of the restaurant. It was cold from the wind coming in everytime the door opened from the outside and we had people parading by our table the entire dinnner. When our waiter came to the table it was like they did not want to serve us or wait on us. The impression I got form our waiter was we did not order enough drinks, appetizesr or entrees to me the minimum she was looking for for a table of 4. The service was not very good and the food average. "
