We have always enjoyed The Cantankerous Fish Restaurant. We enjoy fish in many forms, and they have always had fresh fish and interesting preparations. The service was friendly, not over the top. We recommend reservations as it can get busy sometimes, and we prefer not to wait.

We would have liked to see a wider variery of fish on the menu. But more importantly, what we did order lacked freshness and taste. Dinners were no more than adequate and dessert, upside apple tart with gelato, was burned on the crust and apples soggy. What a disappointment.

The crab cake first course was delicious and we each enjoyed our main course (scallops, swordfish and ahi tuna). This is a favorite place for us to relax and know we will have well prepared seafood.

I was here twice -- once for business lunch and once for wedding anniversary dinner with my wife. For the lunch we got the Ahi Avocado Tartar and some kind of soup. I got the Panko Encrusted Petrale which was pretty good. For the dinner, we shared the Ahi Avocado Tartar (my favorite now) for appetizer, and some swordfish with rice and Seared Sea Scallops for entree. I would recommend this place for taking out your girl friend if she likes seafood + fish.
