Open daily for breakfast, lunch and dinner, the Tavern also offers al fresco dining in season on the adjoining patio and covered porch. And join us for a la carte brunch every Saturday and Sunday.

  • "We have been going to the Brunswick Theater for years and are always looking for a place for lunch! Terrific location as it is only a short walk to the play. Even though the tavern was very full that day, service was very good and we were able to get to the play on time. Glad I had found out I could make advance reservations!"

  • "We were a party of four. We requested a booth but there were none, so they gave us a table that was very quiet and private in its own nook, which was appreciated. All were very happy with their meals with the exception of the crab cake appetizer. The crab cakes were very good but were supposed to be served over greens. This turned out to be two wilted leaves of romaine which was disappointing. Otherwise Brunswick Tavern earns high marks."

  • "We had dinner at the Tavern after going to the Maine State Music Theater. It's a short walk from the theater. The atmosphere is nice, and the service was good, very friendly. The outside patio is large and looked very nice although we chose to dine inside. We had a nice bottle of wine and our dinners were very good. I would recommend this spot for a drink, lunch, or dinner if you are in Brunswick."

  • "I frequent this restaurant year 'round. There is a nice patio for warm weather dining and a cozy indoor dining room. I especially like the fact that they offer their lunch menu at dinner, too. If you don't want a huge meal or spend a lot of money on a dinner entree, you can get a nice salad, lobster roll, or other sandwich. My go-to place when we have out of town guests."

  • "Lee Sykes, on Thursday nights, is a wonderful addition to the tavern. The food is good, but Lee's music is great. Caesar salad is tossed in the kitchen as it should be, and I had a perfectly-cooked blackened salmon on top, making it a meal. The spinach salad was a hit, too. The coconut shrimp was perfect, and although an appetizer, when combined with the spinach salad was almost too much for a meal. I heard no comments on the chicken salad wrap, and assume it was just OK. My husband's special, short ribs with mashed potatoes was good but not great. Service was friendly, and on a non-music night might have seemed a bit slow, but we were enjoying listening to hits from Gordon Lightfoot, CSNY, and other favorites of ours."

  • "We ate here a year or so ago, and thoroughly enjoyed it. Not this time. The food was awful! Two $25 "New York Strip" steak entrees were thin slabs of meat loaded with gristle. A $28 Scallop with lobster risotto entree came with 3 scallops and not even a hint of lobster in the risotto. A $25 "Seafood" stuffed hake entrée couldn't be eaten. The stuffing was mush without a hint of the advertised scallops, shrimp and lobster. A kids chicken finger dinner wasn't eaten by an 8 year old who normally gobbles down chicken fingers. The only decent food brought to the table was a grilled cheese sandwich for a 6 year old. We should have known something was wrong when we were the only diners in the restaurant at 6:30 pm on a Saturday night."

  • "We have been to the Tavern a half dozen times or so, and each time we have had an exceptional meal. We have never had a bad or even so-so meal. We know that we will love whatever we order. It's a small area, so it can be somewhat noisy, but the food and service make up for it. You really can't go wrong eating there."

  • "We were passing through Brunswick, looking at colleges with my son. We arrived late and had a 9:15pm reservation on Open Table. It was a very quiet night and I could tell they were remaining open to honor this Open Table Reservation. All other customers were long gone! Thoroughly appreciate their effort, given nothing else was opened and it is conveniently a part of the hotel. I had chicken saltimbocca which was a little dry but fine. My son had a pasta with Alfredo and thoroughly enjoyed it. Thanks for staying open to honor your lone reservation!"

  • "The Valentine Day 3 course dinner was outstanding! We began with a splendid Caesar salad, followed by a 14 ounce cut of prime rib done medium rare accompanied with horseradish mashed potatoes and a melody of vegetables. Certainly, the most tender, flavorful beef, prepared to perfection by Chef Kevin. For desert we swooned over lemon cello marzipan cake/blueberry sauce and a flute of champaign! All of this was served by Katherine and Krista, exceptionally attentive, caring and friendly waitstaff. Bottom line: a special day made even more enjoyable by having dined at the Inn's Tavern restaurant . We shall return again and again."

  • "Soup almost warm, prime rib fatty (waitress never brought dipping sauce), very few potatoes with meal, champagne was brought with desert, and price too high for the quality of the food and service.I never complained as it has to obvious to staff that service and quality was below par, and I still gave a15% tip. You can do better, especially on special occasions like Valentines day."

  • "This was our first visit to the Tavern. The ambiance was great but a bit chilly. We were told that the a/c had come on but would turn off soon. I would have preferred a side table rather than in the middle of the room. The scallops and lobster risotto was delicious and they prepared it to meet my food restriction. My husband's steak was equally good. We would definitely return."

  • "While The Inn at Brunswick Station has been around for a while, this was my first visit there. I came with 3 friends to enjoy a nice lunch and the lunch was more than nice...it was great. The Tavern has a wonderful, laid back ambience in a nicely appointed room. All entrees were fresh and original, down to the in house made potato chips. I loved it."

  • "The food is standard as best, Bland and unremarkable. Disorganized, noisy with a large party in the next room separated by a half wall. Wait staff was trying hard to make it a good experience. The four in the party all agreed we will not go back. The only thing they have going for themselves in their location across from Bowdoin college."

Fortunately, they were not too busy and were able to seat us. It is clear that Open Table received the reservation or I would not have received this survey of our experience there."

  • "We both loved the look/feel of this place. Also, the initial server contact was very good but soon trailed off. Admittedly, neither of us ordered full meals but what we did order was average, particularly for the prices (which were above average). My short ribs were served barely warm and my wife's mussels were served without bread (it should have come with bread). Also, we are not big eaters but the number of mussels was light, relative to other restuarants. By the time we caught a server about the bread (not our own), she was finished and her meal was cold. The server came back without an apology and we only saw her again when she followed up about the check. She was very nice, just not attentive, fyi."

  • "Had a fun night. The tavern was busy and alive and we sat at a high top table which was great in the bar area. Although there was a table of 20 in next areA the noise was fine food was really good, especially the seafood. Only issue was our server ..major attitude and no personality for such a lively atmosphere. Jess had attitude and never smiled. When asked what she liked she rolled her eyes and said lots of things...and that's it!! Apparently didn't take waitressing 101. We decided to have coffee and dessert at the bar which was great and James was awesome."

  • "The fish and chips were terrible. There was practically no fish inside the over fried breading. The nutty irishman drink was very good though. Another meal at our table was served with cold mashed potatoes. The salmon on another meal looked good, and she enjoyed it. The clam chowder was good, but was more of a bacon chowder."

  • "First time at the Tavern. The dining room is nice, but we sat outside on the patio. There's a tall fence to give privacy but you still can enjoy the sun and breeze. Tables are nicely spaced so there is plenty of room and some privacy if you want. Two of us ordered the lobster roll - great! The Tavern doesn't load up on fillers. In fact the roll (at least double the size of a hot dog roll many restaurants use) had a bed of crunchy lettuce, then nearly a whole lobster. There was a full tail (sliced lengthwise), two claws and two knuckles. What's really nice is they let you decide if you want mayo or butter - either (or both) served on the side. Perfect! Will go back to try some of the other offerings. Recommended."

  • "Very convenient for Maine State Music Theater and events on the Bowdoin College campus. The lobster roll is full of fresh meat and is great with their home made potato chips. Our service was good but with a couple of slip ups with table settings of water and salt and pepper. They were out of some of their wine selection but the server made alternate suggestions. I would highly recommend this spot for any event that is occurring on the Bowdoin campus."

  • "Brunswick needed more hotel options near campus, and the inn at Brunswick station seems to have filled that need. The restaurant/tavern in the hotel is a good choice for a very nice pre-theater dinner. A lovely patio was visible from our table, and we will know to request a patio table next time."
