We had a great experience here, the only complaint we had was my husband's steak. He ordered the $30 ribeye steak and there was so much fat running through it that he had a sizable amount left over that he couldn't eat!

The Brown Street Club is an excellent restaurant unfortunately they abruptly closed "for remodeling on Monday after we were there on Friday. They let their employees know they were out of a job on Monday as well. That doesn't bode well with me as I don't respect restaurant owners who treat their employees that way.

Took my girlfriend on valentines day. The drinks were a little pricey, but they're the best I've had in Greenville. The food is also a little costly, but it was fine for a date and both of our meals were quite tasty. I'll be going back for sure!

Our first time visiting for dinner! The evening was not rushed however both the bar waitress and the waiter caused some awkward moments. When we arrived we ordered our drinks directly at the bar then sat at a bar-table. As my companion was about to get up and get a drink refreshed (we had not seen a table server at this point) a blonde popped up and was verbally petulant that SHE was our bar waitress and SHE would get us our beverages- no hello- no sorry I was not here for you earlier- no welcome- nothing! I felt as though we were being chastised. Our dinner server was VERY kind but a bit awkward in his presentation both due to his young age and relative inexperience as a waiter? But he did do a good job.

I love this place. We had a nice table up near the stage. Had wonderful service, food and entertainment. They usually have two acts in the evenings with the late one staring at 1030. The food was great. Service was perfect. And they make the stiffest mixed drink in the upstate. One of my favorite places for a night out.

On saturday Feb 2 2013 me and my familty took my mother to Brown Street for her 72nd birthday and we had a blast. My mother really enjoyed her self she was dancing and having a good time. We were also surprised that the food was as good as the music. My sister and myself was so impressed that we are sending our brother and his wife for their 31st wedding anniversary a gift from us. I recommend everyone to just try it and fall in love with it.

I have been for happy hour a few times and had a good experience. This was my first time for dinner. 20 minutes after we ordered the server came back asking for clarification and he had everything confused. My boyfriend and I both made comments about me NOT liking onions and my dish contained lots them and I had to send it back. He was very apologetic which did help. I am not sure that I would want to spend that kind of money for dinner here again.

    Dined on 1/11/2013
We went on a Friday night. When we arrived the first band was playing. The service was good. The server spaced our order so we could enjoy the band longer. The food was prepared well. Around 9:30 the late-night scene began. The bar area became crowded. By 11:30 it was in full nightclub mode. If you're looking for good food and good music, this is the place. I would decide what time to go based on the type of experience you are looking for - earlier for a business crowd with music you can still hear over and later for a nightclub scene.

WONDERFUL experience, and we will definitly go back.Customer service was excellent, from the time I booked the reservation and even emailed them as to the best time to come for BOTH dinner and music thru the dining experience. They were excellent, Attentive, not intrusive, allowing plenty of time between courses to enjoy the food and music and the experience. We did not feel rushed even after finishing dinner and enjoying 3 cups of coffee while listening to the wonderful local Jazz singer. The food was good, perhaps not quite great. The starters were truly delightful but the sides were a let down (overseasoned garlic mashed, and underseasoned linguini) Although the Veal was perfect. To avoid being overwhemed by music ask to be seated in back

Very disappointing birthday dinner. Long wait for service throughout night. Waiter would disappear for 20 minute intervals. Requested item off the menu - Oysters Rockefeller - waiter assured us it was the best appetizer in the restaurant. Oysters arrived overcooked and soggy. The remainder of the meal was mediocre at best: Steak overcooked, seafood pasta very oily... Still the bill was over $100. We will not return to this establishment. Highlight of evening was live band - they were the only positive in a generally negative night.

We had an all around wonderful experience at Brown Street. We felt that the food quality would hold up against more expensive places like Erwins or Larkins. Highlights were the calamari app, the lamb rack, and the veal dish with linguine. Also, the live dinner music was pleasant - not overwhelming.

Our dining experience was great. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was perfect for a jazzy dinner date. The only downside was our waiter. His service was good throughout the meal.. until the end of dinner. He added 20% gratuity to our bill, which was only my husband and myself. He also included 20% gratuity in the bill of my sister and her husband. I spoke to the manager the next day and am awaiting feedback. We would still eat there again... but ask for a different waiter.

Based on some review I chose this as a dinner date restaurant to take my gf and our friends from out of town. We get there early and the host said that our table was available (25 mins ahead of 8:00 RSVP) and the music was sounding awesome! This was the highlight of the evening as the rest of our time was bad. We sat near the back by the kitchen and our waiter came by to introduce himself. It seems this may have been his first day or week there as he seemed nervous and not very confident. All our entrees had issues and I had to ask the waiter to speak to the manager as he didn't bother to stop by the table. I do not have enought space to describe in detail the experience but will never return.

The food was good, well prepared. The waiter was on his first night but did an acceptable job with help from the trainer. The live band was good. They were the early group, on Sat. It was fun to actually have a live group. We were at the back of the room away from the band which was great as it quieter. Pn the other hand the back of the room is closer to the kitchen radio. it was just loud enough to eventually be noticable. and annoying by the end of the evening. I would go back and would recommend the club to friends. We had a good time and enjoyed the restaurant.

We were sorely disappointed in both the food and the service at the Brown Street Club. The music was very nice and the drinks were good but I definitely would not recommend going there to eat. The list of problems and errors is too long to detail here but it touched on literally every aspect of the meal: seating, service, attitudes, food quality, food timeliness, incorrect billing... Literally, everything they could do wrong they did. We will definitely not be back and cannot recommend it.
