  • "Finally having a hot date with my wife at Benaroya Hall, we stopped by the Brooklyn and it really made the night. Great food, great service, great location, what more could you want. And we haven't even experienced the Happy Hour, which is why we heard about this place to begin with. Congratulations ! You are now on the list of "Can't wait to go back" Thank You."

  • "Every time my wife and I go to Seattle, The Brooklyn is a must visit for happy hour and/or dinner. In Oct. 2014 we met friends from SoCal at the Brooklynn for dinner. They were so impressed we came back the next night for happy hour and dinner. Excellent oyster bar, great drinks and super Seattle seafood dinners. My favorite restaurant in Seattle. R.L. Porter"

  • "so we go to this place (recommended) sitting at the chef's bar. you are kinda stuck with the bartender as your waiter and they are in the other section most of the time, so you kinda get ignored. appetizers come out, had the crab cakes, very tasty our entrees come out and theres quiet a reach from the cook side to the seat. the wait staff helping passes my plate which scorches my hand, never say a word before of after. cook hears us complaining and guy comes back to check on everything and when we say something to him about you should have said something, he said well i had towels in my hand and he reached for it?? WTF? idiot, never the less, we told out waiter what happen, he told manager, surprised they never came by to check on us."

  • "Great service. Food was so fresh and had lovely layers of flavor. Nice linens and everywhere I looked, it was spotless. Very nice atmosphere. We had a nice quiet table, everyone at the bar looked to be having a great time."

  • "My wife and I had an early dinner at The Brooklyn before a recent Mariners game. It was early, so not very busy yet. Service was great, wait staff very friendly and on top of things. Chowder was outstanding and the scallops good but not outstanding. My wife really enjoyed the medallions small plate, which was plenty big for dinner. I think it's our third trip and we'd do it again."

  • "Quiet & warm ambiance for this seafood-centric place. Foie gras with scallop was amazing, as were the TEN kinds of oysters with detailed flavor & texture descriptions. Nice fish & salad, luxurious dessert. Gorgeous presentation of each dish. You won't be disappointed."

  • "Enjoyed the bar the most Brides halibut came VERY undercooked, so we sent both meals back, as I don't like to eat alone which seemed to cause a slight stir from the wait staff On return all ok Delicious steak Valet parking is a must"

  • "We were taking two grandchildren (age 7 and 9) to dinner before attending Seattle Symphony (which is nearby). We knew this restaurant was pricey but thought the kids would love it (and they did). Our server was extremely patient as we worked out our menu selections, she made helpful suggestions about the kids items on the bar menu, and she split several orders without extra charge."

  • "Ate at Brooklyn's on recommendation from hotel. Overall the food was pretty good. Started with clam chowder which had a nice texture, flavor not a standout. One entree was the halibut which was excellent. Other entree, sirloin. Cooked medium rare, nice flavor but a little tough. No dessert because of service. Service slowly went down hill till it finally just plain sucked. In addition to our table of 2, our waitress had another table of 7 to work. We definitely do not want someone hovering over us while eating but the big table ended up taking all her time. I understand big tip from other party but we are generous tippers for good service/food. Unfortunately, we will not go back nor recommend. The service really killed the meal."

  • "Being a waiter in my former years at 4 and 5 star restaurants, I was nicely impressed. I feel the prices are a bit to high (160.00 for dinner- 1 salad, 2 entrees, and 4 glasses of wine). But, on the other hand everything came out flawless. I ordered a top sirloin, the steak was perfect, and the toppings were amazing. Every bite was incredible. I could have made the same dish, but I enjoyed it, never the less. My girlfriend ordered the leg of lamb, and it was flawless as well, incredible bite after bite with an amazing glaze/sauce. YES! I was taking a few bites, as it was A LOT of food! Not sure why they HAVE to charge SO much. Will not eat there again due to that. I can get wonderful dinners else where for less, but GREAT food and ambiance!"

  • "Very good place that came highly recommended. The server was well knowledgeable about the menu and wine pairings. We pretty much ordered what he recommended and he was spot on. Very good food. Only hitch was that my husband is allergic to onions and they mentioned that when we sat down (which we were impressed with) but then they served the potatoes that had chives in it even though they said it was onion-free. I ate them instead since he had plenty of food on his plate. They offered to give him something else so handled it wonderfully, but there was no need to change it at that point. They bought us dessert though (plus it was my husband's birthday dinner). Anyway, very good place and worth the splurge since it is a little pricey."

  • "I've dined in this restaurant on all three visits to Seattle and have never been disappointed. Everything on the menu, especially the fish and oysters, is exceptionally fresh and well prepared. My tuna was cooked perfectly and the lobster butter sauce that accompanied my husband's halibut was amazing. It should be offered with other entries. We finished with a farm-made, honey vanilla ice cream that was heaven. The service was excellant and the restaurant has a warm, old English pub feel making for a relaxing dining experience. I hope to get back to Seattle and the Brooklyn again."

  • "Our party of 5 all rated our experience positive and would return. The crab cakes were the highlight of our meal. Our server was excellent; friendly and made good food/wine recommendations. The Bouillabaisse was full of seafood but the broth was heavy on the butter. Steaks were great."

  • "My steak was not cooked correctly for how I ordered it Took 20 mins to get a correct cooked one at which time my husband had already finished eating. The desert came with caramel sauce even though I had specifically asked for no caramel sauce & had to wait & get a new one of those. We will not return here again. No kind of compensation was offered for either of the mistakes. We had come to celebrate our anniversary & this experience pretty much ruined it."

  • "all 4 people at our table said it was the best meal they ever ate!The food was truly creative and delicious. One item was missing from our dish but was brought over later. Our server was not very friendly at the beginning of the meal but did warm up a bit as the evening progressed.I would return any time I come back to Seattle."

  • "Our waiter was wonderful. EVen though we were in a booth, the restaurant become too loud to have a conversation. We had two older people in our party and it was difficult for them to hear."

  • "The food was amazing, and the service was top notch. If you are looking for a classy seafood establishment in the heart of Seattle, this is the one."

  • "We ate here b/c it was mentioned in an article on the top oyster restaurants in seattle. we kicked off our meal w/ the oyster/white wine pairing and the oyster/beer pairing. The oysters were good but we were disappointed that the 'pairing' was really a selection of wines and beers that didn't really need to be enjoyed in any particular order w/ the oysters and in some cases didn't even go together. The halibut was definitely super fresh but one of the 3 sauces it came with seemed that it was there more for visual plating than anything else. It was a sweet and sour sauce that didn't go with the fish at all. Overall a solid meal, but with some room for improvement to go from solid to outstanding!"

  • "My family of 5 visited on the recommendation of a business traveler. My friend probably set our expectations too high for the food quality. Overall evening went well but got the feeling from the waiter he was not too happy to see a family of 5 versus a group of business men or women. My family consisted of 3 young men ages 19 to 26 plus my wife and me."

  • "Their seafood choices are fantastic; the scallop and fish dishes were amazing. However, tastier and cheaper oysters can be found at other nearby locations. The service was great. Would definitely go again, and again, and again."

  • "great place - we went there as part of our family holiday in Seattle, we got seated in one of the bothes, which the family loved to be in, food was excellent, the steaks absolute top quality, drinks perfect - our waiter gave us great advise on the wines and we rounded it up with some lovely deserts not cheap but defenitely good value for money"

  • "Great selection of oyster and they offer nice pairings with beer, wine or vodka. Wish they had more beers on tap and better selection. We loved the baker's dozen, great way to sample a few. Service was a little on the forgetful side but the seafood is prepared with a unique twist. Didn't like the kale with the salmon as the kale lacked flavor but the rest was very good. One of my favorite Seattle stops!"

  • "Read reviews on Open Table and Yelp, so decided to come here for dinner. We made some late appetizers at a wine bar, so when we came to dinner we were not very hungry. Started with Oysters, shared the delicious clam chowder soup and ended with the yummy shrimp cocktail. We will come back to eat a full meal next time."

  • "went to dinner with my wife and 13 year old son for my birthday dinner. everything we ate we excellent, steak, bread, chowder, all exceptional. service was top notch, easy and attentive. was nice to only deal with our single server, who checked in often. Prices were on the upper end, although you could also easily get a great meal for $20-25/"

  • " Our group of two couples enjoyed a nice meal before a concert at Benaroya Hall. The waiter was attentive and kept track of the clock for us. My caprese salad was the best I had ever had. My bouillabaisse was also excellent."

  • "We made a reservation for a Monday night. Although the restaurant was empty, we were seated in a dark corner at the back next to the toilets and kitchens. Clam chowder to start, which was presented with plastic bags of crackers. Not very classy. Had to pay for bread. I then had scallops, which though a little undercooked, were decent, but had far too many ingredients fighting with each other. My wife had chicken, which was 1 of the most vile dishes ever. Roughly 100 different ingredients on the plate, burnt to an unrecognizable state. She was unable to eat more than a few mouthfuls, and I couldn't help her. Despite leaving more than half the meal, the waiter didn't even ask if it was ok. Both of us were nauseated afterwards."
