I have been to the restaurant several times for lunch and had an issue with swatting fruit flies, even in the winter. During lunch they did not use the restaurant effectively and had everyone crammed in a corner. It was very loud, I could not hear my lunch companion.

I've never had a wedge salad with a wedge so small that the head of lettuce obviously served 10 portions. The scallop special was described to be very large scallops served atop a potato cakes with short rib beef on top. The scallops were excellent although they and the potato cakes were the size of a 50 cent piece. ( you get 3). Very disappointing that I took 3 friends there for a special visit.

Our waiter (Nick) was prompt, attentive, knowledgeable about the wine list (gave great pairing recommendations). He also took great care to pace the meal in such a way we didn't feel rushed but still finished in time to make the opera. The food was beautifully plated and the lobster ravioli was amazing. The poached pear dessert is a must, and the clam chowder fantastic.

We ordered chowder, oysters, and finally the scallops as a main dish. The first two were excellent, the last was not. The bed of "short rib meat" the scallops sat on was almost inedible because it was so salty. My husband thought it tasted more like corned beef hash. Just a weird combo that didn't work. Everything else including the service was great.

We really enjoy the food and service. We have been here three times now and each time we were not disappointed! The samplers of beer, oysters and scotch are a great way to try things out. There was nothing on the samplers we did not enjoy. The duck is wonderful, the steaks amazing and the seafood is very flavorful. The scallops in particular are a great treat! Cooked to perfection and paired with other great tastes. The only thing I can even remotely suggest to them is watch the octopus, the pieces I had were very tough. But overall a wonderful experience and great way to start the evening!

We went to Brooklyn for New Year's Eve as a party of 4 and had a great meal. & service. Even though they were very busy, we didn't feel rushed while at the same time they made sure we were not going to be late for our evening plans. We had 1 1/2 dozen oysters which were all delicious & fresh. Our cocktails were prepared very well and were generous. The salads & entrees were excellent; we had the lamb shank, bouillabaisse, scallops and mussels. All were fresh, beautifully prepared and tasted wonderful. I also like the nice selection of wines at affordable prices, as well as higher end wines for those who want one. Our server was friendly and efficient. All in all, we had a great dining experience from start to finish.

Luckily we got a reservation at this beautiful place, downtown was packed. Made a 6:00 reservation, a little earlier than we like to eat but I'm glad we didn't cancel. Food was excellent, my husband says the oysters were the best he ever had, very fresh. Scallops, salmon, filet and lamb was also divine. Try this place, make a reservation you will not be disappointed. Service was spot on as well.

We have always enjoyed a great dinner at The Brooklyn Grill, but it was very disappointing this last time. The salmon was cooked well, but sitting on a bed of overlooked chard with a deep fried patty of something that was unappealing. Then add one small tiny potato and a sauce left me wondering why I was paying $32. I won't be back again. The only saving grace was the raw oysters were good, even ones from the Chesapeake Bay!

I was very pleased I had chosen The Brooklyn to take my girlfriend on our 1 year anniversary. The ambience was very nice, the booth was confortable, and our steak Oscars were great. I can understand paying $46 for a well prepared steak with a mound of fresh crab on it, but I still thought $17 for 6 oysters was just a little on the steep side. Jonathan was very knowledgeable and helped me choose the Kusshi oysters which were delicious. He came to check up on our table just maybe once too many times feeling like I wasn't able to truly settle in to nice conversation. My Tanqueray martini was also crafted very well. Overall a very nice restaurant and great experience!

The atmosphere and service was wonderful, but the food was not as delicious as I expected it or remembered it to be. My husband liked his filet mignon, but I was some-what unhappy with my lamb. It was very over-salted. We both LOVED our clam chowder though. My husband wished for more blended wine options from the wine list. We decided to not get dessert, because when we came last time, we weren't very impressed. We probably won't return for a meal, but would def. come back for the clam chowder as an appetizer.

If you wish a dining venue near Benaroya Hall in Seattle, this is the place. We have been going here for the past 12 years. It is a wonderful, festive dining venue, appropriate for all ages. They ALWAYS honor our OPEN TABLE reservations. This year we were delayed in traffic. We called them fifteen minutes before our scheduled reservation and told them we would be about ten minutes late. They very kindly held our reservation for which we were exceedingly grateful. The service in all areas is right on perfect. The food is outstandingly delicious in every aspect. We will continue to return year after year until our health/old age prevent us from doing so. In the meantime, we will continue to enjoy The Brooklyn Seafood, Steak and Oyster House.

I was surprised that it was not as good as i thought it would be. The prices are high for the food. Food was nicely "displayed" on the plate but lacked taste. I was disappointed. I would have sent my salmon back had i not been on a time constraint and i did not want to make the people we were with feel bad, as it was their suggestion. I might try it for happy hour because my cocktail was tasty!

I took my wife and in-laws here prior to attending the Messiah. We had 6:00 reservations and were seated immediately. We had a very relaxed dinner and got to the show in plenty of time, very convenient as it is across the street from the Benaroya. High point was the clam chowder. Wife had Salmon which was good...polenta a little over fried. Mother in law had Duck which she really enjoyed...very rich and tender. Father in law had lamb which he also really enjoyed. I had Kobe sirloin which was cooked well and had good flavor, though tougher than I expect for Kobe. Also had dessert...pear dish and a crème brulee...both very good. Entire bill without tip but with a bottle of wine and tax was $220. Dinner here was great part of a holiday evening.

We picked the Brooklyn due to a recommendation from a friend and the Open Table reviews. The service was outstanding. We took our waiters advice on which Oyster's to order which was a combination of 3 different types, all of them delicious. We also had a Crab Cake starter and there was no doubt that it was made from fresh crab. My partner had a steak which was cooked exactly as ordered! I had scallops which were the best I have ever eaten and I eat a lot of seafood....Perfectly cooked with a translucent center. If you like scallops don't leave Seattle without stopping at the Brooklyn! The prices are very reasonable (2 shared starters, main course each, shared dessert and a total of 4 glasses of wine under $170.00 before gratuity).

My wife and I decided to go for a nice meal instead of presents this year for Christmas. However since that would have removed the surprise factor of opening a gift, we wanted someplace we'd never tried. I wanted steak, she wanted oysters. Voila, Brooklyn was the pace. They made just about every list we found when googling "best oysters in Seattle," so that was ultimately how we landed there. The oysters (and their accompaniments) were fantastic. The scallops my wife ordered were amazing and cooked to perfection. My filet was delicious as well. It wasn't cooked quite as rare as it was made out beforehand (ordered medium rare, arrived pink throughout, no red). That included, EVERYTHING was superb and we'll definitely be back!

We ate at Brooklyn before attending the Symphony across the street - food was good, service was excellent. We are already looking forward to returning for our next special occasion. Oysters were so fresh - tuna was melt-in-your-mouth good, steak was fork-tender. Next time we want to try the beer/oyster sampler - four sampler beers with an oyster to go with each one. Yum. Can't wait.

We had the best food at Brooklyn on Saturday night. The portions were artfully displayed on the plate. My husband and friend had the duck. It was so tender and delicious. It didn't even look like duck. I had the scallops and they were cooked just right. For dessert we had the poached pears. It was so delicious. Our waiter was mindful of our need to get to the symphony and told us all the menu items that took longer to cook so we didn't pick those. unfortunately he wasn't wearing a name tag and I don't recall if he said his name. He was very nice and helpful. This restaurant is so nice and close to the symphony we love it, especially on cold winter nights.
