The Brooklyn Seafood, Steak & Oyster HouseAlways greatI can't remember a time I have been disappointed after going to the Brooklyn. They must higher pro oyster shuckers because I never find any shell fragments in mine (not the case most other places). Always fresh and delicious. I had the pork rib eye this time and it was fantastic. They also have the best clam chowder!! Service is always awesome, we really like Dave - he has great energy!6/13/2013 12:00:00 AMDeliciousThere are not many restaurants that can do two types of food great at the same time. Their seafood and steaks are both equally great. Many restaurants can't pull this off. Would go back again if we are ever in Seattle again6/11/2013 12:00:00 AMA Brooklyn Gem in Seattle, WAThe foold at this restaurant was amazing. My entire family enjoyed their meal. The food presentation was gorgeous, we almost passed on dessert from being so full. I will definately recommend this restaurant for anyone touring the Seattle downtown area.6/9/2013 12:00:00 AMWe went here for my birthdayWe went here for my birthday and the oyster wine sampler was awesome! The food is on the expensive side, just like any restaurant with this caliber. Overall, I strongly recommend it.6/6/2013 12:00:00 AMgreat meal, great experienceWe ate here before attending an event. They immediately asked if we had a time constraint - which I appreciated. The server was one of the very best we've had. The menu variety is perfect and not overwhelming. The food is "normal" but prepared with unique flavor and pizzazz making it extraordinary for the price. The calamari and steak Oscar are amazing. Our server asked if I wanted another glass of wine and even offered a half glass. I've never been offered that and we aren't new to nicer dining establishments. We finished and paid 15 minutes earlier than we requested. This was a great meal, not overly gourmet but very tasty and definitely something I couldn't prepare at home. I will definitely drive the hour and a half to eat here again!6/4/2013 12:00:00 AMMy husband and I ate at TheMy husband and I ate at The Brooklyn during our first stay in Seattle in 2010. We were so impressed then with the food and service that we knew for certain that when we visited Seattle again we would stop here for dinner. And we did in June 2013 and were happy to find that the food and service was again excellent.6/4/2013 12:00:00 AMDinner overall was great.Dinner overall was great. However my steak was over cooked and tough. Didn't feel right sending it back. I've had better steaks at home for far less money. Great oysters and bread.6/3/2013 12:00:00 AMExceptional Sea FoodFresh sea food. Exceptionally prepared. Went beyond our expectations!6/2/2013 12:00:00 AMRushedAlthough the food and the company were fantastic, our server was a bit rushed and had a tendency to "forget" something. He forgot someone's wine, in another instance he walked off in middle of someone speaking to him, and in another instance when we reminded him of someones salad, he responded with "you didn't order one" when the rest of us clearly heard and remembered!6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMEverything as it should be and moreWe arrived for our 5:30 reservation early, a little before 5. The hostess asked if we'd like to be seated at the bar, which we accepted, and promptly at 5 she escorted us to our table. Jonathon, our server, couldn't have been more helpful in detailing some of the dishes and making recommendations. He brought us an extra plate for sharing the ample Caesar salad, as well as the poached pear dessert, and this was a first; after having a cocktail from the bar, my friend declined a glass of wine thinking it would be too much, whereupon Jonathon offered her a smaller serving! My friend's salmon entree and my scallops were both extraordinary presentations as well as perfectly prepared.5/31/2013 12:00:00 AMOutstandingWe had a group of 14 visit this restaurant on the recommendation of a catering manger so we expected good things. It was beyond our expectations. The server was extremely knowledgable of both the menu items as well as the drink options. He offered opinions that provided us with delicious food that was cooked and presented at a very high level. I would highly recommend the restaurant to anyone looking for a high quality experience.5/26/2013 12:00:00 AMLocal ingredients and magicWe are always surprised when the chef forrages the freshest local foods, and whips them up into preparations to die for! The salmon with a veggie reduction was outstanding, and the oysters melted away so we ordered another round, too.5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMCan't wait to come backOne of our favorite Seattle spots. This was our third visit and we are already looking forward to our next one. The staff is fantastic, the food is great and the oysters are out of this world.5/14/2013 12:00:00 AMPre-Symphony @ BrooklynThe staff was quick to seat us and the waiter very accommodating in getting us fed and out in time for the symphony.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMVery enjoyableI try to dine at The Brooklyn every time I'm in Seattle. The area facing the chefs has comfy chairs and an up front view of your meal being prepared. Menu offers many great options, in addition to seafood. Service is always spot on. A trip to Seattle just isn't right without a trip to The Brooklyn.5/1/2013 12:00:00 AMThe menu is good. The dishesThe menu is good. The dishes have a lot of ingredients. We prefer seafood with fewer sauces and ingredients so that the seafood is the main ingredient. The clam appetizer was delicious.4/25/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways a top choice when inAlways a top choice when in Seattle
The Oyster sampler is a must!4/21/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food, great locationMy wife and I went to the Brooklyn to escape from the kids and work. We loved the quiet but vibrant atmosphere and the options at the bar. I ordered the bouillabaisse, and it was probably the best stew I have had in my life, certainly the best bouillabaisse. It's not easy to cook that many types of seafood (especially octopus) without over- or under-cooking at least one thing, so I was equally impressed by the food and the skill shown in its preparation. My wife ordered the day boat scallops and loved them as well, although I think she would have appreciated more than just the three (albeit sizable) mollusks that arrived. For dessert, we split a deconstructed s'more of sorts: chocolate mousse, marshmallow creme, and graham cracker crumbles.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMDespite our initial difficultyDespite our initial difficulty in finding parking near the Brooklyn, due to nearby concerts, etc, we finally arrived at the restaurant somewhat later than our reserved time. We appreciated the restaurant's understanding and holding our reserved table. The service, food, wine and ambiance were all to our liking, and worth the effort in getting there on a rainy night. Being from Atlanta, we have always enjoyed spending an evening at the Brooklyn Steak and Seafood when in Seattle. Thanks for helping make it a successful dining experience.4/18/2013 12:00:00 AMWent with a colleague forWent with a colleague for a nice dinner while I. Rattle for a conference. We wanted good food but also a place where we could actually talk. The Brooklyn was a great choice. We both had the halibut which was excellent and I had oysters. Good wine choices as well4/17/2013 12:00:00 AMWe love the Brooklyn. We dineWe love the Brooklyn. We dine there when in Seattle for our Theatre outings. It is our special place4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways a pleasure to haveAlways a pleasure to have lunch there after the Symphony. Food is very dependable. Wine is not bad either :) Love their basil infused olive oil -- the best!4/12/2013 12:00:00 AMThey did an incredible jobThey did an incredible job serving us several courses during an intensely busy night, given that the majority of customers were there to eat and leave by 7pm for a show next door. Oh and the food was spectacular as always. :-)4/9/2013 12:00:00 AMWe made a reservation forWe made a reservation for 8:30 on a Friday night. We arrived a few minutes late but were seated right away. The restaurant was not busy at all. Our server expained the menu in detail and was very easy going and hospitable. They have a very good wine and liqour selection. I was pleasantly surprised that they have single malt scotch. I ordered New York strip steak and my friend ordered the salmon. Both were cooked to perfection. Our server came by a few times to check on us. The steak came with mashed potatoes and creamed spinach. The steak was seasoned just right. We just had dinner and drinks. We took our time but we left before ten o'clock. The atmosphere was classy and reminded me of a saloon. I would definitely go again.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Great Great!!!The Brooklyn was a great find. The food was outstanding and the service was top notch. The presentation of the food was superior to most local restaurants. The wine list was outstanding and considering that I am a bit of a wine snob this list more than met my expectations. In my opinion this is a must when visiting or living in Seattle.4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMThe oysters in the OysterThe oysters in the Oyster Sampler were superb. The service was very attentive. Ii found it to be a little too much on the pricey side.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMFood and atmosphere were veryFood and atmosphere were very good and the service was outstanding. Dessert was a little disappointing as the Crème Brule was slightly burnt.3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had a great group dinner. We had a great group dinner. Service and food was great. Could have more seafood choices for entrees. Price for food and wine gave above average value. Def be back.3/26/2013 12:00:00 AMGood food, great service. Srsly. My wife and I have had dinner here several times. Great food, good service, and possibly the best dessert menu in town. Order the salmon or the duck, and the key lime pie for dessert. The pears are also very good.3/25/2013 12:00:00 AMSuper food. Great service.Super food. Great service. Can explicate if time is precious without sacrificing quality. Love to eat here.3/19/2013 12:00:00 AMNice booths, also high backNice booths, also high back swivel chairs at counter in front of open kitchen. Service was very good, waiter was knowledgable about food and menu. Extensive wine list. Warm bread served with butter and olive oil. Menu has small plates, starters, soups (including a rich thick clam chowder) and salads, steaks, oysters, seafood and a farms section that has local meats and poultries. We came for seafood and I was disappointed in the choices; there weren't many entrees to choose from. That said, the dish I chose- Scallops with shortrib meat and scalloped potatoes- was quite delicious. My husband's sablefish was delicious as well. We skipped dessert- we were too full. Overall a nice experience.3/17/2013 12:00:00 AMThis was our second visitThis was our second visit to The Brooklyn. The food is quite exceptional, prepared to perfection and served in an appealing manner. The staff could not be more helpful with recommendations. This is a Seattle landmark, deservedly so. We will be sure to visit again whenever we are in Seattle.3/17/2013 12:00:00 AMBest clam chowder ever!Food inconsistent. Clam chowder best we've ever had and scallops delicious and interestingly prepared. However my husband had boullibase which tasted too strong and extremely fishy. Service and atmosphere fantastic. Waiter was attentive, helpful and very knowledgeable3/15/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellentWe did choice the restaurant during our visit to Seattle, the restaurant is extraordinary.12/31/2012 12:00:00 AM
