  • "We were looking for a Saratoga spot for a last minute Valentines Day dinner out. I stumbled upon Brooks Tavern while searching restaurants. We arrived on time and were seated within a minute. We loved the neighborhood location, the warmth and coziness inside. The bar stocked what we were looking for. The food was excellent and the staff were there to please. Very attentive to every request and in no rush to push us out the door. We liked it so much we returned the next night on our way to Greenwich for their neighborhood menu. Spaghetti and meatballs were excellent. We ran into the cook on our way out to the car and he asked if we were pleased with the food. Excellent all around! We will be back with friends."

  • "The service was very good. Even though we requested a corner table, it was still quite difficult to hear each other from the surrounding noise. The food was okay. I ordered ahi tuna and it was a bit spicy and very cold in the center. I usually have it served slightly warm or room temperature. Although many of the recipes were different and appealing, to us they just didn't taste that great despite all the very good reviews."

  • "Had a 5:45 reservation. Arrived late--close to 6:00--due to snow, difficulties of off-street parking, and taking good care of my own customers. Told by our waitress that they had a reservation immediately following, and our reservation was for 5:30. Thought she misspoke. Was not offended by her statement, would not have been offended if we were told they could not seat us. Knowing we were late we were prepared to forego appetizer and dessert. Unfortunately, our $100 meal was served fast-food style. Three bites of salad and our meal was on the table. In at 6:00 pm, out at 6:35. Can't imagine we would have been out at 6:35 if we had arrived at 5:45. The food was delicious, although not abundant, but the service left a bad taste in our mouth."

  • "We have been seated at the same table for the last 3 visits. For some reason the chairs in this lower section are without padding and I find very uncomfortable. If it isn't crowded you can swap out for a chair on the upper level that has padding. Also the seats/bistro tables in the bar area are very low and uncomfortable. Otherwise the food is good and the staff is very pleasant and attentive but again it gets extremely loud when they have a crowd. I found myself blocking my ears a couple of times and not able to carry on a conversation . The lower front section may just be a bad area to sit."

  • "My wife and I ate at the Brook Tavern this week. We had a great time all around. The bar is very welcoming and had good beer and wine choices, including wine on tap. We were then seated in a comfortable booth overlooking Union Ave in Saratoga. Very comfortable place - see their web site for pics, My wife and I like to order small plates so we can get lots of different tastes. We had the half salads - plenty big and good priced - as well as mussels, crab cakes and spare ribs. All were delicious. We are already making plans to return - probably on a Thursday when they have $1 oysters and sliders (except during track season). Note of warning - this restaurant is across from the flat track. I know it gets crazy there during July and August."

  • "This intimate restaurant doesn't make the mistake of trying to do to much and the result is perfect. The menu is not over-extensive, but covers all the important bases. The food is spectacular. The "small plates" and "larger plates" section makes sure that everyone at the table can find what they want on the menu without having pages and pages of options available. As a result, the kitchen is quick and you don't end up waiting for your meal. We chose something off the starters, small plates and big plates menu and all were really quite good. Tuna tacos were fresh and flavorful and NY strip was prepared exactly as ordered. A great vibe and wonderful service. We will certainly be back."

We even take our 5 year old granddaughter and instead of shoving us in a corner away from other tables like some restaurants do, they welcome us with smiles and stop by often to talk to her. This place is a winner!"

  • "Last minute New Year's Eve reservation turned out perfect. Cocktail at the bar during Happy Hour (4-6pm), then sat down to a wonderful meal of swordfish & ahi tuna. Service was prompt and friendly. The warm and cozy atmosphere of the Brook Tavern, good food and great service is why we keep going back."

There was a guitarist in the restaurant who was great and was quiet enough for us to have an unencumbered conversation. Very tasty food.   • "The noise level was too high for conversation. A musician in the bar had the sound level so high that it made conversation in the dining room fairly difficult. The service was fine. The food, chicken pot pie, was ok but not what was advertised in the menu. It was fairly spicy and was dry and contained corn. Not a usual ingredient in chicken pot pie. The bar area is such a nice spot. Is seems that it has been difficult to find an owner that can make the location work since it was the Springwater Bistro."

  • "Excellent options for gluten free sensitive people. I always have to make this a priority when choosing a restaurant. There were many options. I had the Ahi tuna. It was excellent! I would highly recommend for GF people. I stumbled upon it looking for a restaurant in Saratoga (where I love to eat) and was looking for someplace new to try. I did make a reservation on a Monday night , not thinking I would really need one, and the place was hopping. Only downside to this location is the parking. We did have to park a little bit away and walk it."

  • "We had reservations here after the races and were half hour late. The hostess had just given our booth away, but was understanding and immediately found us another table. The menu was varied and innovative; expensive choices, and lesser "daily specials". My friend really enjoyed his "pasta & meatballs,(delicious)," I had the Brook Burger, and although thick & juicy, I was a bit disappointed that it didn't taste like a hamburger. Later to find out it had proscuito. in it. Should have mentioned that on the menu. Our waiter was just what you would always hope for while dining; friendly, helpful and attentive. I give him a 10, without doubt. The only problem I had with the restaurant, was the noise level."
