Diner Reviews
  • "We had a quiet summer day around Bend and a very good meal for our anniversary dinner."
    Dined on 5/25/2014
  • "The food was pretty good and the service was above average but if you are looking for a nice place to take a date or a romantic date night this is not the place.. No scenery to look at and we got the "wall" with one weird picture to look at the whole time we were there...."
    Dined on 6/21/2014
  • "It was a nice place but very loud. The drinks were good. The steaks were great but the sauces they used were so salty that we had to scrape them off of the steak. The service was very good."

  • "Our server was very friendly and totally attentive. Our food was cooked perfectly and served in a very timely manner. We first went to The Brickhouse when Jeff opened his Redmond restaurant, and he worked the bar. We are customers for life."
    Dined on 6/6/2014
  • "We have been here several times, but this time all our food was undercooked. We ordered steak medium and it was served just shy of raw. We also rdered a pork chop cooked medium and it was served medium rare. We will think twice about coming again especially with so many restaurants to choose from in Bend."

  • "Went for a Birthday dinner. Got seated in the back of the restaurant with all the window shades clothes. Not much decor, and an ample amount of boisterous children and adults. The food was okay, nothing amazing and the desert was lackluster and out of character."

  • "We live in Bend and kept meaning to try The Brickhouse. We had a wonderful experience, food was excellent and the waiter helped make the evening enjoyable. "

  • "We made reservations quite a bit in advance, and got seated in the big back room. There were 2 tables of about 10 each seated right behind us, and it was so noisy that we could not talk to each other. We had not seen our friends for a couple of years, so this was not fun for them.We asked to be moved, and they tried to accommodate us, but there was no place to seat the 6 of us. I will say that the food was excellent, and the wine list is one of the best in town. Our server was very nice, as was the management. I know they don't have control over who comes in, but would recommend NOT eating in the big back room. That is where they seat the groups, and it would be much quieter in the front near the street."

  • "Warm & friendly environment, food was very good, although a little on the expensive side, the bench/table was perfect for six of us, the noise level was low to moderate most of the time. The bench/table beside/behind us filled up with 7 young adults who were a little loud and made it difficult to hear at our table….fortunately it was the last 1/2 hour so it worked out well. "

  • "I went for my birthday and they brought me a dry candle on a plate!! Who does that??? I called the manager and he told me that they didn't want to waste dessert or ice cream. Seriously!!! I spent $130 on dinner and they couldn't deliver a scoop of ice cream? Very disappointing!"

  • "They totally changed the fresh halibut to gluten free and it was excellent. My husbands steak was one of the best he has had. "
    Dined on 4/26/2014
  • "We had great steaks and a fabulous shrimp/crab Louis! The service was nit good. Our waiter was gabbing with guests at other tables of what seemed to be " regulars " at the restaurant. It's nit that we minded him talking and having fun, but he neglected to: Pour more wine Pour more water We had to ask for bread, and then he didn't bring the butter, so we had to ask for that. He was completely unattentive -but when he was at our table, he was pleasant. The food was very good, so it made it worth going to the restaurant. "

  • "Our group has dined at The Brickhouse on numerous occasions and all agree it is one of the best anywhere. The atmosphere in the bar area is vibrant but if you are looking for a more intimate or quite area the dining room certainly provides that as well. The food and drinks are outstanding and consistent and the service is as good as it gets. I usually have a steak which are always wonderful but on our most recent visit I ordered the Alaskan Salmon which was very good. I asked our server to recommend a wine to go with it which turned out to be excellent as well. The service here is like having a conversation with an old friend and they are always providing helpful suggestions. These people know what they are doing. "

  • "We have looked forward to going to the Brickhouse for some time. We had a very pleasant and enjoyable evening out. We both decided on a steak dinner. The steak was very tender and you could cut it with a fork. We will return to try another dinner dish. We would recommend this restaurant to others."

  • "We had a table and 5 and service was impeccable. The wine list is extensive and our server poured the wine expertly...not over the top and filled to the brim. We were able to enjoy our conversation with minimum notice of the wine glass being refilled while at the same time our every request was efficiently handled. The food was amazing from a foodie perspective. Our meals were completely balanced and innovatively put together. Not to leave out their side dishes...the creamed spinach is light and delicious. If you make it to dessert, the chocolate soufflé is incredible and the best I've ever had."

  • "my husband and I went here for a special occasion. Our server was excellent and made the night very nice. My med rare steak came out rare, no problem, but when I had it cooked a bit more it was tough-maybe this was a result of cooling and reheating enough to cook it a bit more…., so I must take this into consideration. My husbands fish was excellent, and they did make an effort to make the meal nice by giving a fresh plate-new sides. Very nice touch."

  • "Great food and service. A little pricey but we will go back for a special occasion."

  • "We enjoyed eveything about this restaurant. We will come back when in Bend again."
    Dined on 3/23/2014
  • "Good dinners and a nice Happy Hour menu. Wine is expensive and $18 for corkage a little high which makes the Happy Hour wine prices attractive. Steaks were very good."
    Dined on 3/21/2014
  • "Good overall experience. The food was not as notable as it has been in the past, and seemed a little hurried and rushed together. One of our meals was excellent, the other very bland. We will give it another try in a few months."

  • "From start to finish, one of the greatest meals we've ever had here locally. The service was spectacular, not too snooty, just great attitudes, timely service and very knowledgeable staff. The carpaccio was some of the best I personally have eaten, the crab cakes were divine and we savored every bite. The lighting was perfect, not too dark not too bright. Love that the seating isn't squished together either, we felt like we had the place to ourselves even though it was a busy Saturday night. We splurge on a big fancy meal about once a year and I think Brickhouse has secured that from us. They are obviously meat experts as the Lamb Shanks and Filet Mignon were the finest we've had the pleasure of devouring. 6 star experience!!"

  • "WE LOVE THIS PLACE.....LOVE THE NEW LOCATION. WE WANTED A STEAK DINNER AND NEW THIS WAS THE ONLY PLACE TO GO. EVERYTHING WAS COOKED TO PERFECTION."
    Dined on 3/1/2014
  • "The food and service was very good. The noise level was very high. The restaurant was very busy for a Wednesday night. We felt the food was a bit pricey. There was seven of us so they added 18% gratuity to that and ask for MORE. I do not feel that is good for business. When a restaurant automatically puts the gratuity on the bill I will not add more!"

  • "The cocktails and service were great! The huckleberry lemon drop, is perfectly balanced sweet and tart. Scallop appetizer was cooked perfectly, and the carpaccio was good, but required some additional seasoning. We ordered a ribeye and filet, both perfect medium rare. I added Demi glacé to my filet, which I wish I had forgone. Not a traditional Demi, more of a brown sauce. Overall I would visit again."

  • "The food here is to die for. I've been dining at The Brickhouse since they originally opened at their old location. By far, it's a gem of a dining experience. Great food, perfect drinks, outstanding service and super friendly. Is way above the rest."

  • "The Brickhouse in down town Bend is an excellent restaurant in a good location. The food is always good and the portions are appropriate. The wine pour is a bit on the skimpy side. The prices are too expensive for frequent dining; however, a nice place for special occasions."
    Dined on 2/10/2014
  • "While the service was very good, and the ambiance lovely, our filets were tasteless- either overlooked or undercooked and poorly presented. They advertise their meat as "aged" but I highly doubt this is true. I question the grade as well. I was also surprised by the bacon wrapped treatment, so 1980; at least it added a little flavor. We did not complain to our server as we where out with friends and I find the whole complaining to the staff a total mood killer. We quietly ate our steaks and undercooked veggies swearing never to return. When you pay 30-55 dollars for a piece of meet, you expect extraordinary, not ordinary."

  • "There were 6 in our group & we gave the Brickhouse mixed review. We were seated promptly by friendly staff. Our server was pleasant but at times seemed distracted. Ordered salad never arrived. Appetizers, lamb, scallops excellent. Chicken Picatta too thick - should be thin - took away from flavor. Minimum water refill. Excellent creme brûlée! Pretty pricey but the corkage fee was waived ...very nice."

  • "Average steakhouse, food was good, service okay, restaurant not especially attractive, but good location downtown. It doesn't stand out though."
    Dined on 1/18/2014
  • "I had the beer battered Cod fish and chips. The battered fish was quite good but there was nothing too special about the fries. My husband had 1/2 crab and shrimp Louie which was good. Portions were large. Service excellent. Unfortunately, the two of us were seated next to a very loud table of four so if was difficult to have any dinner conversation."

  • "I don't normally write reviews but I believe this deserves one. The service was terrible. Booked for 8 people which I understand is a lot. Took 15 minutes just for someone to come to the table for drinks. After that went down hill from drinks to food. The beef is very good quality. The cooking not so much. My steak was ordered blackened and came out wrong. They took the steak back and recooked a medium rare steak to almost well done and served it again. Of course once I wasn't happy they offered to cook another. The steak came out blackened with no flavor.. We did order an expensive bottle of wine and that was good.. Overall wont be back."

  • "Most steaks around 30 bucks and waiter--a woman--acted like she was taking order at a burger shack. No hello or small talk. Just hurried and didn't ask if we were having appetizers. Very strange. She was friendly but not professional like you expect at a nice steak house. And too loud in the place. You couldn't hear anybody at your table."

  • "We went to Brickhouse looking for a good meal in downtown, and because the reservations were available through OpenTable, which makes everything so easy, but I was totally amazed at how good everything was. We had oysters on the half shell, so tender and good, and they had a Beef Wellinton special, which was excellent; my husband had the fish tacos, my son the gigantic pork chop, and all was good. We especially loved Julie, our waitress."
