The Briarwood InnSuperbSame excellent service, food and ambiance that we have come to expect. Slight change to the menu did not douse our spirits but instead offered even more choices of excellent quality and perfect preparation.6/15/2013 12:00:00 AM"Old Dog has New Tricks"We found Briarwood's new concept of Price Fixe menu with wine pairings extraordinary. They kept the features of the old menu and added a few really excellent choices. Also, being able to order from the main menu outside will surely bring us back.6/12/2013 12:00:00 AMWe enjoyed the wonderful musicWe enjoyed the wonderful music on the patio again Wednesday. What a fantastic way to celebrate mid-week heading toward the weekend. I enjoyed the Shrimp and Scallops - spicy but not too spicy. My friend had the Tenderloin Tacos - she said they were delicious. We hadn't seen each other for many months and it was a wonderful evening - just catching up. We are planning on meeting at the Briarwood again in July. When you go you must try the Cheese Platter - delicious and just the right amount to enjoy with wine. Go for the desserts too - they serve a wonderful dessert tray or individual desserts. Try the "house made ice cream" to die for. Next up is Quantum Jazz on the Patio - can't miss that! Good food/good music - what else could you ask for.6/12/2013 12:00:00 AMBriarwood for BrunchExcellent brunch with wonderful pastries. We had a party of 8, everyone had something different, everyone raved about the food.
Service is the best anywhere.6/9/2013 12:00:00 AMFantastic eveningThe experience was absolutley perfect. We got there early and started with drinks in your beautiful lounge. Then were taken to our table where the magic began. The service was outstanding and the food was wonderful. I will be back. Also I had flowers delivered to the table, this is a nice touch that most places do not offer.6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMFrom a long time patronWe make an annual (at least) visit for our anniversary, and as in the past, we know we can expect a really great dinner and service second to none. Our most recent visit was no exception and met our every expectation. You new menu selections were a bit of a suprise, and I missed one of my old favorites, but my new selection was also exceptionally good.Thank You!6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat but, overpricedGreat food and service and ambiance....just WAY overpriced for what you get!6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMWe are looking forward toWe are looking forward to returning in a couple of weeks.6/6/2013 12:00:00 AMWhat better way to celebrateWhat better way to celebrate the middle of the work week than Briarwood's Summer Music on the Patio. We were there for the opening event - music, magic and a wonderful meal. Began the evening with wine and a delicious cheese tray - just the right amount of fantastic cheese and crackers.....followed by the artichoke & spinach dip. Waited awhile - listened to music and then ordered our entrée.....no pressure to rush.....just relax and enjoy! We ordered Tenderloin tacos - delicious and huge.....and Spicy Shrimp and Scallops - unbelievable. The Briarwood has a new menu - some new dishes and many of the old favorites. Next Wednesday, June 12, the Eli Owens Trio will be performing. We'll be there!6/5/2013 12:00:00 AMpatio funWe enjoyed the Wednesday evening patio entertainment..the food was wonderful and a great time was had by all.Highly recommend for summer fun.6/5/2013 12:00:00 AMNew menuWe have been going here for a lot of years on special occasions. The new menu is very good, but I was looking forward to Beef Wellington, no longer on the menu. The filet was excellent, as was the halibut. We love the $60 per person special, appetizer tray (absolutely wonderful), salad or soup, main course, and dessert. I had to take my dessert home in a box. We love the Brirwood and hope it stays around for a long time!6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMA wonderful time...The staff couldn't have been friendlier. The food was absolutely incredible. The wine pairing was perfect. The portions were very generous. We could not have had a better birthday celebration for my wife.
Thanks again!5/30/2013 12:00:00 AMWe thought the food was veryWe thought the food was very good but the portions were on the small side for the money spent. That is the reason for the four star rating under food category. We have eaten at the Briarwood many times and at this visit noticed some changes, the menu for one, that we were a little off about. The wait staff remained wonderful as always.5/28/2013 12:00:00 AMWe dine at The Briarwood InnWe dine at The Briarwood Inn quite often. Everything on the menu is delicious. This time my husband ordered the Prime Rib - again enough for 2 meals - perfectly done (medium rare) - juicy. I ordered Prime Briarwood - if you haven't tried this combination please do so...again, enough for 2 meals. Pastries were delicious - my husband loves the "swan".
Remember Dad on Father's Day - don't ask him to grill out - take him to The Briarwood for Brunch. I'll be taking my husband there!5/26/2013 12:00:00 AMEverythng was great. FeltEverythng was great. Felt a little rushed at the beginning - but otherwise our wait person was great.5/22/2013 12:00:00 AMConsistently Exceptional CuisineThe Brianwood Inn never fails to be consistently incredible. The food, the flair, and the overall flavor is fit for royalty. This is a stellar place for special occassions from Mother's Day, Graduations, Christmas, and any other special occassion to fit your need.
Our Mother's Day meal from the pastries to my prime rib spin on egg benedicts was behind flavor and savor. Bottom-line, it was exceptional. I would highly recommend this place nestled right in the foothills of Golden.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMBest Mother's Day Brunch ever!!Best Mother's Day Brunch ever!! Been there for dinner and lunch and other holiday events. Will definitely go back5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent service, food, feelWhat a wonderful place to dine and enjoy your spouse. The service was excellent and the food fantastic. Love the older and rich feel to the decor.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMEverything but coffeeMy wife and I enjoyed the food, cocktails, service and ambiance with great pleasure.
Then the coffee was served. It really was not worthy of your restaurant`s quality for me. It was weak and not hot. I am sure you can do better.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Brunch!Their $32 brunch is a terrific value. You get pastries, fruit, champagne & and an entree for that price and all in the cozy, scenic atmosphere! Really a nice place to have a a more upscale brunch at a great price!5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMbrunch for all4 of us dined at the Briarwood for brunch on Mothers Day. The food was pretty good. This was because it seemed to mostly be pre-cooked then warmed up. However I have had brunch there before and it was excellant and cooked to order so I assume because of the large crowd that was there for the holiday the only way to serve that many diners efficiantly was to do exactly what they did.
They serve fresh fruit, champagne and several kinds of danish. The menu offered several entrees to chose from and all for the same price of 32$. The atmosphere is beautiful and the staff very attentive and friendly.
This is a special restaurant for special occasions ! Will most definately go again.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMBriarwood for Mother's DayBriarwood for Mother's Day - what a wonderful way to say THANKS MOM FOR ALL YOU DO! Prime Rib that melts in your mouth.... pastries to top anything you can bake at home and plenty to take home. Excellent service always!. Don't let him grill out - make reservations and treat Dad on his special day - JUNE 16.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Mothers Day BrunchWe had a great brunch & overall experience at the Briarwood. Food, service and atmosphere were outstanding. I'd highly recommend.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMOur Favorite PlaceIt's a special occasion whenever we go there. We look forward to the great food and fantastic service. LOVE IT!5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMThe classic Briarwood InnWhat a wonderful evening. We celebrated Mother's Day with outstanding food, service and old world charm. The Briarwood Inn is a throwback to old school high society dining.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMThe Briarwood Inn delivers again...It's been a few years since I've been to the Briarwood Inn as I moved from the Denver area 7 years ago. I was in town for my son's graduation from Auguste Escoffier's Culinary Arts School. Where could I take this new Chef that would impress him? The Briarwood Inn, of course! He was delighted with the ambience, the appetizers (the olive pate - oh my!), the entrees. He sampled each dish & loved the duck- and the Rocky Moutain trout delightfully garnished with a light sauce, scallops, and shrimp. From the dessert sampler, the coconut-crusted bananas were the favorite of all at the table. Looking forward to our next visit to the Denver area. The Briarwood Inn will once again be at the top our "must dine" list.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food and Great ServiceWe went for brunch the day before Mother's Day. The waiter was so nice! The Roast Prime Rib of Beef was the best prime rib I have ever tasted! The pastries and fresh fruit were so delicious and for two people there were more than plenty! The serving of the fruit and pastries was so beautiful. The age of this establishment shows (not in a bad way), but the decor and china are so fitting. It has a quiet elegance resembling the area in which it resides.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways good and a place toAlways good and a place to go for a special occasion.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat evenings spent with my loveWe have been going to the Briarwood every year for our anniversary for more than 20 years. We also like to come around Christmas when the decorations are up. We have never had a bad evening at the Briarwood and look forward to our visit every year.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful experienceThis was perfect for a group of friends to celebrate a very precious person and her upcoming marriage. The wait staff were beyond excellent and the food was divine. Thank you for making this such a wonderful experience,5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMMurder MysteryWe have been to several of these especially at Halloween. The are always great fun and a wonderful way to spend an evening. We would recommend the Briarwood to anyone.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMFirst Date Plus ThirtyMy husband and I ate at the Briarwood on our first date -- 30 years to the day before this latest dining experience. Happy to report the Old World charm and romantic ambiance remains every bit as magical as on that first visit. Today, as then, the appetizer Lazy-Susan selections are a delectable meal in themselves. The entrée and wine selections are superb, with something to please every palate. There's never enough room for the wonderful dessert array of fruits and sweets, but they very graciously pack up whatever you can't eat then for an encore later at home.5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMSuperb Restaurant! We always enjoy going to the Briarwood for special occasions. This evening was to celebrate my husband's birthday and we were not disappointed. We were greeted warmly upon our arrival, and ushered to our table - given a choice of a table or a booth. The waiter was cheerful, professional and had an impeccable sense of timing as to when we were ready for the next course. There was never a rush, and we were allowed to savor each course. The appetizer tray was excellent, as usual, which really makes a meal in itself. The salads were fresh and tasty, and the entrees cooked to perfection. The dessert tray was not necessary, but delicious! All in all, a very leisurely enjoyable evening - just a superb dining experience!5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMI recommend this restaurantI recommend this restaurant with a qualification.
A favorite for many years, especially around Christmas, but had not been there for several years. This time a special ocassion and is close to our home. We had always enjoyed the inviting environment and we can always count on a good meal. However, prices seem out of line for type of food we had compared to other fine dining establishements we also enjoy.
New York 16oz steak, mashed potatos and steamed veggies, elk medallions, rice, steamed veggies, 2 drinks: with tip, $187.00. Of course this included appitizers, average, and dessert, nothing fancy.4/25/2013 12:00:00 AMWe have loved coming to theWe have loved coming to the Briarwood Inn for Brunch. It is a special place for special occasions. We have come with my work group for Christmas for 24 years. It is beautiful at that time of year. For the last few years it has been for birthdays and anniversaries.

Keep up the good work. We will be back.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMSo much food!Service was attentive. Food was bountiful. Special food requests were done correctly (the first time). Everyone left stuffed plus we had leftovers for the dogs!4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMRomantic get away.We get to eat at this restaurant once a year. The prices don't allow us to do it more often than that. The service is great, the relaxed atmosphere is refreshing. They don't rush you to order. You begin the meal immediately with the shrimp and spreads and actually relax while you think about what you want. I go there for the Beef Wellington that I cannot get anywhere else but my husband enjoys the many seafood dishes.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMOur server was great. Food,Our server was great. The evening was relaxing.4/18/2013 12:00:00 AMAs always, the service wasAs always, the service was excellent. The appetizer tray is always first rate. However,I found the Elk Medallions entree to be less than excellent compared to previous visits. The meat was cooked perfectly but the wild rice side dish was not very good. The steamed vegetables were just average, nothing special there. I will not let this one meal experience prevent me from returning for another try as all of our previous visits have been wonderful and memorable.
The Briarwood has also hosted two Air Force Academy graduation dinners for our sons and they were both fantastic. Family members still mention these dinners to us.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMOur family and friends haveOur family and friends have been coming to the Briarwood since hte 1980's. We asked for (and received) a window table, the service was good. We ordered the prime rib, which was served with roasted potatoes. Although it was a holiday crowd, we were seated on time and overall enjoyed the experience.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful restaurant but aWonderful restaurant but a little pricey for what you get.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMIt was elegant and delicious,It was elegant and delicious, the service staff was very nice.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat place to go for a specialGreat place to go for a special occassion---
Always reliable for a great experience---3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMPerfect Easter Brunch. We were delighted with the brunch offerings on Easter Sunday. The quality of food is still excellent and has not changed over the years. We particularly enjoyed the fresh fruit and appreciated that it was not brought out until we were seated. Portion sizes were just right, and we took home the pastries we couldn't finish. James, our server, was most helpful and attentive. We also appreciated being able to substitute pineapple juice for the champagne with no extra charge. We will return for brunch in the future!3/31/2013 12:00:00 AM
