This is a very good choice for a place to celebrate a special occasion. We noticed most people were there for anniversaries or birthdays. We were happy to have a table rather than a booth. The staff were so helpful in every way. The food was outstanding, the hot food was hot and the cold food was cold. The ribeye was perfectly cooked and melt-in-your-mouth delicious. The wine pairings were perfect with the four courses. We were happy to celebrate our 50th anniversary in such a nice setting.

I can't believe this restaurant abandoned it's unique and delicious menu last year and now has a menu I can get at any old place. Really bad decision. We came in for the 35th anniversary only to have the old nenu again.

We have been dining at the Briarwood for years and have always enjoyed the food, the service and the ambiance. In the last year we have been disappointed twice. Earlier this year we went to celebrate our birthdays and ordered lobster tail. Both of them were under cooked. We returned my husbands and it took 20 minutes to get another. On this visit we tried their 35 Year Celebration menu. It was awful the salad with a Champagne dressing was totally tasteless, the veal was tough and tasteless. The appetizer tray was not included so we ordered bread which we were charged $3.00 for and if we wanted more we would be charged another $3.00. The waitress took forever to check in with us and it seemed we were always waiting for her.

Main meal was excellent The desert was stale. when we told our waiter he said it from being frozen. He did not offer a replacement and totally avoided us the rest of the time except to collect the credit card. We wanted a refill of coffee and he wasn't around. He could be seen at another level walking around. the busser was better than the waiter. The busser asked us if we would like a refill of the coffee and when we were leaving he gave us a slice of key lime pie. It was a shame that a stale desert caused this review to be bad. but the poor service made the dining experience worst.

Continental cuisine with no surprises, no fusion - just straight forward dining. Slow paced for patrons and quiet for special, intimate dinners - no loud laughing, kids, rowdy groups - no elevated anything. The service was excellent and the food was very good. Good place to propose (or break up!). Food presentation was very nice and elegant. For me, the entire experience was a little old fashioned and stuffy, but for a a relaxing and romantic evening where you can actually hear each other's words and not have to fight to have a pleasant conversation over loud music or loud talking from other patrons, it is very nice. Hard to believe it is one of the best restaurants in Denver, or the country, but again, very good; not outstanding.

Ordered the Prix Fixe 4 course. Whether it was where the beef was sourced or what wine pairing should be chosen our server had no idea. The halibut was in a cumin heavy sauce that was just plain weird and was cooked 10 minutes too long to the point of inedibility. The wine pairing is not really a wine pairing as you have to choose...We chose 2 out of 3 correctly but I guess that is our fault for ordering a wine pairing and expecting it to be "paired" with our meal... The prime rib (which i highly doubt was truly only grass fed) was the fattiest prime rib Ive ever seen... but flavorful and the mashed potatoes were great. Desert was a boring collection of out of the box style cookies but the fruit and cream was good. Poor $/quality ratio.

We went to Briarwood with high expectations: reviews were good & we had been there years before. We were surprised by how few diners there were but thought that was because we were there later in the evening. The onion soup was great but the salads were under dressed. Then everything deteriorated: the waiter forgot to bring the wine & disappeared for long stretches of time. The prime rib end cut was extremely rare - bloodier that the "rare" I ordered - it had to be sent back. Our friends fillet was medium on one end and practically raw at the other - when we sent that back, it took forever to come back and it was still rare! But the real insult was the fact that the fillet had stringy gristle - it was a composite/glued fillet! Yuck!

I hadn't been to the briarwood inn for a number of years, and went because of their 35 year anniversary special 'flashback' menu. It was incredible food, the beef Wellington was even better than I remembered, and so tender it melted. The appetizer special was worth every dime, and with the exception of the fat chocolate cookie (which was hard and tasteless) the dessert tray at the table was fantastic. We were 'dressed down' and still treated as very important. The wait staff was friendly but not 'in your face' and right on top of everything - you couldn't ask for better service anywhere. Our waiter this evening was exceptional, and the other waitstaff and hostesses were amazing. The chef did an incredible job, and I highly recommend going!

The Briarwood Inn was a wonderful venue for a business dinner. Dining on a Tuesday night, the restaurant was not crowded or noisy. The staff allowed our party of three to enjoy a leisurely meal while discussing challenging business topics. The appetizer tray, salad, main course, and dessert were all fabulous. The staff was prompt and courteous, but remained in the background with minimal interruption of our discussion. The house merlot was an excellent option. The Briarwood Inn itself has a tremendous charm and elegance about it. I would highly recommend visiting The Briarwood Inn for special occasions or when needing a more upscale restaurant.

again you all out did yourself, everything was wonderful, I had the Summer gazpacho, tasty, crunchy veggies, luscious, flank steak was cook to perfection, mashed pots were smooth and tasty, baby carrots good. The dessert was wonderful, it was a nutella ice box cake, so rich I could not finish it. I would have loved to see the chopped salad as an offering you had at the first Denver Restaurant week but you always come up with great and tasty temptations. I love the place, been coming for as long as you've been around. Thanks for an awesome dinner!

We went here before a show at Red Rocks on Sunday night in August (also during Denver Restaurant Week). We wanted to try a new place close to Red Rocks. The restaurant's menu seemed good and it had gotten Diners Choice Awards for multiple years. However, as soon as we sat down I knew it was going not be a good experience. Food crumbs all over my booth seat, crumbs on my plate and when my husband picked up the wine book he had food smeared all over his hand (some food was stuck to the back of the wine book). Our waiter, while very polite, also came back several times to ask us the questions about our order because he forgot. And our food was not great (I got the steak, carrots and potatoes and hubby got salmon). We will not come back.

We went for the Denver Restaurant Week and were quite disappointed. What the Briarwood was offering for $30 was a real rip-off. My wife had the salmon which was good but was nothing more than a small piece of salmon with no accompanying veggies or potatoes. I had the the flatiron steak which consisted of 5 or 6 very thinly sliced pieces of flanksteak, a dollop of mashed potatoes and 3 mini carrots. That's right. Three! There was no bread and butter provided but they did offer an appetizer tray for $39. We passed on that. We've been to several other restaurants for Restaurant Week (used to be 5280) before so we had a fair idea what to expect. Unfortunately, the Briarwood didn't meet our expectations.

This is the kind of restaurant that Grandma and Grandpa are expected to love. We didn't! The food is predictable fare, nothing interesting, but not bad. I asked for no onions on the salad, and got onions, then had to wait for a long time to get a salad without onions. The salmon was overcooked and pretty bland. We won't go back.

we had a party of six and were seated at a round table which was nice for visiting. One person ordered a beverage and it did not come in a timely fashion and we had to request the order again. Desert was served and we were not asked if coffee or tea was wanted, again we hade to request this after we received the desert. The sun was in two of our guests faces and the blind did not go down far enough to shield the sun from their faces. The food was excellent, which was important because we chose the Briarwood because we have always been pleased with the food.

One person loved the restaurant week menu; the other thought it was OK.
