The Brewer's ArtExcellent!Great atmosphere, wonderful beer & whiskey.
Food was excellent as well!! Will definitely return.5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMI have been patronizing Brewer'sI have been patronizing Brewer's Art for many years - it is always superb, and gets better with age!5/14/2013 12:00:00 AMAmazing Food.. Waitress too Chatty?I love the food here and go back as often as possible. If you haven't tried there Steak Frittes do so! The ambience is on the quiet side in the dining room with low lighting. The bones of the building itself are enough to keep you looking around to check out all the details!
Considering the cost of the meal though I would usually expect a quietly respectful wait staff that knows there job backward and forward. That was not the case this last visit. Although she was a fine waitress she approached as though we were all 5 year olds who needed a pep talk in order to have a good dinner. Not really my cup of tea and I've been a waitress! I can see that style of waiting at a crab shack but maybe not at The Brewer's Art.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMA trio of tastesI was impressed with the craft, private-brewed, beer selection and all choices of Beer, Wine and libations. It's always a good sign to see a well thought menu with limited but plenty of focused items in appetizers and entre's.
The Chef at Brewer's Art uses a unique palate of tastes with each entre; the main choice, a starchy and/or vegetable side and a delicious compliments of sauces. We ordered the stuffed baked breast of veal and the chicken; each were prepared perfectly, each with their own distinct complements of pasta and vegetables. The desserts are exceptional and the service was exceptional- always aware and attentive, but not obtrusive.5/8/2013 12:00:00 AMOne of the best restaurantsI like the restaurant very much because of the excellent food, the good wine list and the nice restaurant itself.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat place! The food wasGreat place! The food was excellent, although the menu is a bit hard to follow for us newbies in fancy dinning. I went on a date, my girlfriend was more than happy! I had the chef special that night which was pork, and it was great. We had a cheesecake as dessert which had goat cheese, it was exquisite! Would definitely go again, perfect for a date!4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMMy boyfriend and I ate hereMy boyfriend and I ate here before seeing Jerry Seinfeld at the Meyerhoff. Our waitress was amazing, she had great knowledge of the beers and food. She made our experience that much better. We both enjoyed our beers, salads, entrees and deserts. MY ceasar salad was the best I had in a while and my boyfriends house salad was great also. He had the hanger steak which was amazing. I had the chicken, it was not quite as good but still I had no complaints. The only thing that I didn't love was how close our table was to the people next to us. But luckily with when the tables were seated we didn't have to deal with that for the whole meal.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMHave eaten at Brewer's ArtHave eaten at Brewer's Art many times and the food and service are consistently good. Noise levels are high so if you want to talk go to the back dining room. Great bar scene with a lot of energy.4/25/2013 12:00:00 AMReservations for 4 at 6:15Reservations for 4 at 6:15 on a Saturday evening. Very little wait time upon arrival. Great server with just the right amount of attention. Surprisingly quick delivery of food to the table and we were not rushed to turn the table over. Seemed we could have lingered longer without stressing the staff. Raves about the food from all of us. I would go back again.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMThe Brewer's Art is a uniqueThe Brewer's Art is a unique establishment which offers a wonderful dining experience. The building is beautiful, the food is absolutely amazing, and the servers are very attentive and proactive. My party had a reservation for 5:30, but due to car trouble, we were late. I called to let them know, and when we got there, our table was still ready for us. The house beers are delicious, and the other beers they offer are great, as well. There is really something for everyone! This was my second time eating there, and it was just as superb as my first experience. I will certainly be dining there again, and I will be recommending it to all of my friends!4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMThough Brewer's Art is a littleThough Brewer's Art is a little pricier than my usual haunts, they have excellent food and some of the best microbrewed beer on the East Coast.4/18/2013 12:00:00 AMThere were four in our groupThere were four in our group and this is the first time any of us had eaten at the Brewer's Art - excellent food, appropriate serving sizes and a very friendly waitress. We'll be back.4/16/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat dining from start toGreat dining from start to finish. The cocktails, beer, and scotch were on point. Appetizers, entrees, and dessert were delicious. However, the temperature was not right on a few of the dishes - a few dishes were cold or room temperature when they should have been hot. Having an extra runner working on a saturday evening could help with that. Sever was great, very knowlegable, and made terrific recommendations. Also, the architecture of the building and its rooms was spectacular, which made the dining experience even better. We would definitely return4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMLamb was way salty. But thisLamb was way salty. But this is a rare miss. Still a stand by restaurant in baltimore.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMAMAZING!This was my first time at the Brewer's Art and it was everything that I was expecting and more. It was my B-day and the staff greeted me with birthday wishes. The ambiance is great and the food is amazing.4/12/2013 12:00:00 AMThey had an outstanding selectionThey had an outstanding selection of in-house craft beer. The food was very good and the ambiance was as stated on their site, country club casual.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMThe only negative thing IThe only negative thing I can say is the other person I was with ordered the scallops as an entree instead of an appetizer and for 4 scallops it cost $26 and nothing else came with it. Very overpriced.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Beer! Great Service! We loved our visit to The Brewer's Art. We made a reservation and were seat in the restaurant which is quieter than the rather chaotic pub area but also has a completely different and more expensive menu. Service was truly outstanding and the beer was terrific. We ordered a flight to try all the house beers ($6) and thought the Ozzy and the Belgian Green Peppercorn were exceptional. For food we kept the price down by ordering off the salad, side, appetizer and dessert menus. We tried the rosemary french fries, the mussels, the perogies, a delicious house salad, and a chocolate pudding dessert. All were tasty and solid but what we drank was better than what we ate. Try the chocolate bourbon for an after dinner drink! Best ever.4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMIt was a great experience. It was a great experience. The food was delicious and the place had a lot of character.4/2/2013 12:00:00 AMBeer selection was outstanding;Beer selection was outstanding; service was excellent. prices reasonable. menu options were unusual but still delicious. Sunday parking was very convenient. Nice meal for Easter.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMThe menu is very unique andThe menu is very unique and fabulous. We started off with the Charcuyerie which was a chicken liver pate (excellent) and dried duck with fresh cabbage, and different sauces. Also a cheese platter that was fantastic. My husband had the veal stuffed with veal sausage over a flat pasta with peas. I had the stergeon fish that was crispy on outside and tender on the inside over a vegetable medley. Loved it.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food and ambieance.Great food and ambieance. Wasn't seated until 30 minutes after our reservation though. That was a little disappointing. Luckily there are plenty of places lounge until you are seated.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways great, and the pear-gingerAlways great, and the pear-ginger bread pudding was delicious.3/27/2013 12:00:00 AMThe bestGreat food, sophisticated but not pretentious, very knowledgeable and friendly server who was attentive but not annoying. A fantastic meal with no problems at all.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMLet's start a new trend! We had a very enjoyable dinner with great food and service. My one problem (and that doesn't make 'Brewers Art' stand out) is the noise level. In your Open Table 'rate your review' you have for noise level:'quiet, moderate, energetic and don't recall', so there isn't even a space to put down: too noisy! I'm sorry, but 'energetic' won't do; I'm so tired of having to shout at my dinner companions, just to have a conversation. Increasingly, this has become a huge problem. I love to eat out. I love many Baltimore restaurants, but in recent years those events have become marred by the 'energetic' level.
I say let's start a new trend: a place with great food and service where you can talk to your friends comfortably and share the experience.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food overall was good. The food overall was good. However, I couldn't understand half of the menu, and I'm fairly well-read in food. Our waiter was nice, but only further obfuscated the selections with more complicated food terms. I didn't like my dish, but the rest of my party had excellent meals. I would say that this restaurant would do itself a great service by toning down the snobbery; it doesn't make the food taste any better. The experience was nice, but I won't be going back to the restaurant, unless it's just desserts and cocktails.
On a side note: the bar downstairs is much more low key and an excellent place for the younger crowd.3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMTwice in one week!We were staying in Mt.Vernon while attending a conference and after eating at the Brewer's Art the 1st night we were in town, we made plans to spend our last night there as well. It was that good!3/20/2013 12:00:00 AMFirst time back in a numberFirst time back in a number of years and had a wonderful dinner before a Myerhoff event. Their brews were really good, the food portions were fine, the taste was delicious and the waiter was great! Will definitely be back sooner than later. Might be a good idea to reserve a table for dinner as we did as the place fills up quickly at dinnertime.3/19/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat! We really enjoyed ourselves. We expected the beer to be outstanding and the food lived up to the beer. We will be back!3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMService was excellent, foodService was excellent, food was extraordinary and the beers made a convert of a lifelong wine drinker - though the wine list was also more than adequate! Unique combinations made for a delicious and memorable special occasion meal. The waiter was very helpful and attentive without being obtrusive. Best mussels in a town where the competition is fierce, delicious elk and the lamb was exquisite. Most surprising was the pan-fried perch on a bed of oatmeal and parsnips puree with dried peaches and hazelnuts! Can't wait to visit again!3/15/2013 12:00:00 AMAn Baltimore gem. Great foodAn Baltimore gem. Great food and terrific staff in an atmosphere that's right out of the 19th century. Excellent bar and not just for beer lovers.3/7/2013 12:00:00 AMWOW. another amazing dinnerWOW. another amazing dinner at Brewers Art. Went prior to Hippodrome show.
