  • "Every bit the gem it was 12+ years ago, when last there (following relocation), and worth the search for a parking spot. I first searched it out as a craft beer/brewpub, and came to love ambiance and food, as well. Happily, the beer is every bit as good (and now some available packaged), and "at least four chefs later" (according to our waitress) the menu and food just as compelling - tasteful and beautifully presented. The "reasonable" portion sizes allow for enjoying two and even three courses, if partaken without rushing and with conversation interspersed. And, the dining areas are unchanged as well, although the tables and chairs felt more substantial than in the past. Only the bar area was slightly noisy, but expectedly so."

  • "I have dined at Brewer's Art frequently in the past, but had heard the food quality had declined and not been there for a while. So I was very disappointed to find out that the food quality had declined to the point that the four of us felt we had an acceptable meal, but nothing more. My scallops were large, soft, and tasteless. My husband's steak was also not wonderful, as it has been in the past. The beer, of course, was outstanding and the dessert was tasty, but not enough to draw us back for dinner. The server was very efficient and pleasant and the place just as lovely as always--but I expected the food to be better than just ok. I wish this was not my reaction, as the restaurant is very conveniently located."

  • "My parents and I were out to celebrate some special events. We decided on The Brewer's Art, a hopping place just outside downtown. Not only do they brew some of their own Belgian-style beers, but they offer food so fancy that we didn't know what all of the words on the menu meant. My parents each had a micro-brew with their duck "ham," while I tried a South African white wine with the celery soup and fried oysters. (The wine actually paired better with the oysters than the soup.) I suppose the dark-wood paneling imparts a refined ambiance and justifies some of the cost of the meal. This is a good place to grab a beer or sit down for an excellent special dinner."

  • "This was our second visit to The Brewer's Art and we really enjoyed it. They have an excellent selection of house beers and the food is imaginative and well prepared. For starters, we had the roasted brussels sprouts in blue cheese vichyssoise. It was superb. I had the Pork Cheeks, which were delicious, and my wife had the Colbi loin, also excellent. A couple of quibbles: the lentils that came with the pork cheeks were undercooked, at least to my mind, and the kalamata olive sauce that came with the Colbi loin was very strongly flavored, which seems wrong for a delicate white fish. The service was impeccable. We will definitely be returning in the future."

  • "Came here with my wife for dinner in the dining area rather than the bar, which is fantastic for a casual bite and best local brewed beer in Baltimore. The dinner was local, both protein and vegetable sides were delicious, would definitely come back again. Really liked the pork cheeks and the oyster starter."

  • "Went there recently for a birthday dinner. Limited menu, but lots of good options. Venison was excellent. One guest was vegetarian and entree options were limited. Ordered the veggie pot pie that was rather salty and wasn't impresssed. However, lots of very good vegetarian appetizer options as an alternative. The food quality exceeded the cost, but the servings were a bit small. Beer is excellent. I highly recommend this place for dining. I/we look forward to coming back and trying more of the menu."

  • "This is a very solid restaurant that does all the basics. As someone who is increasingly frustrated by restaurants that are too loud to converse without screaming, we were glad to find this place. We went early for dinner at 6:00 PM and had a nice time with our guests. By the time we left at about 7:00 PM, the noise level had increased but was still well within civilized bounds."

  • "The food at Brewer's Art is always outstanding: very good caesar salad, good wine selection, a wonderful duck breast that was rich and perfectly prepared, and an excellent sturgeon dish. The staff is very pleasant and attentive. The only complaint -- as with too many restaurants these days -- is the noise level. We were seated in the middle room, where the tables are much too close together, between the extremely noisy bar in the front, and the normally quiet back room, where 2 screaming children were holding forth. Conversation is impossible!"

  • "We stopped by for a quick meal before a Thursday evening show at the Hippodrome. I would recommend making reservations (we did) to ensure prompt seating. The dining area has dark woods and ornate moldings all around...it looks like an old bank or library on the interior. Our server was prompt, courteous, and accommodating of our request for quick meal/check so we could make the show. I had the resurrection beer and the steak frites. The beer was strong but smooth and complex. The steak was well cooked and served with a wonderful savory gravy. Entrees are priced in the mid 20s but small plates are also available. I will be back here I was impressed."

  • "The bartender was wonderful. When we arrived at our table the server was obviously upset we had already bought beverages while we were waiting. The server was abrupt and rude to say the least. I have been in the restaurant business for many years, that is how I paid for college and graduate school. It takes a lot to make me irritated with a server as I know how hard they work. This guy was plAin rude to the 4 of us on Sunday March 2nd. The food was bland and mediocre to say the least. I ordered scallops and they were raw and served on a tasteless creamm sauce. Mg friends ordered venison and hanger steak, poormpresentatoon and disappointing fast. We will NOT be back!"

Apps and entrees were good, but no matter what you order please get a side of fries. And if you order anything other than their beer, you are missing out. Ozzy is my favorite."

  • "My first two visits to Brewers Art (including one during restaurant week) were quite good. This time, however, the food was not nearly as good and the service was quite bad. The waiter was inattentive and was especially haughty/condescending toward my 21 and 26 year-old daughters (who had done nothing to deserve such treatment). The waiter seemed to be bothered when a request was made - say for another beer. The food was slow coming out and was disappointing. My first two visits to the Brewers Art were quite good, but when I recently had a friend visit from out of state, I didn't suggest the Brewers Art for dinner because this most recent experience was just so bad."

The food was amazing and the drinks were great as well. The building its self was beautiful and I really enjoyed the ambiance. We will definitely be going back soon!"

  • "We were here during restaurant week and their menu for this wasn't, expansive to say the least. However, my dining partner and I ordered off of the RW menu (although we both ordered items with a $10 upcharge). The food was brought out quickly - their promptness and the foods' appearance, taste and the overuse of sauces indicated that the food was prepared and plated hours ahead of time. In addition the staff was rushed and obviously didn't care. It was a little disappointing considering our bill with too was $150. If we had gotten a really good deal, I would have lowered my expectations, but we spent just as much as we usually do."

  • "I had researched and heard all about Brewer's Art and knew from the beginning that it was going to be a great meal. When we stepped foot into the bar we were met with floods of people talking and having a great time. We walked further into the dining rooms where they had couple's tables set up with candles. A romantic yet rustic theme when we sat down. Our waiter was quick and knowledgable about all of the selections. For the food I ordered the Pork Cheeks which were fantastic on top of split peas with a Bratwurst, collard greens and topped with a sort of sweet sauce. My date and I were both extremely pleased with our meals. And would recommend Brewer's Art for any Baltimore diner."
