A word from The Brasserie - Grand Cayman
The Brasserie restaurant has been a culinary fixture in Georgetown for over thirteen years. In the past six years, with the culinary marriage of Chef Dean Max and owners Clarence and Lisa Flowers, the Brasserie has evolved into an even more spectacular jewel of the island.
Through these years of research, training, and planning this evolution, the Brasserie was proud to re-open its doors in the beginning of 2010 with a brand new organic garden, state of the art exhibition kitchen, a walk-in wine room with over 300 selections kept at the perfect temperature and their own fishing boat which ensures they always have fresh catch from the sea.
The Brasserie restaurant is a boutique 65 seat restaurant with bar that warms the soul with its British colonial charm. The restaurant is a hidden gem known by locals for its incredible fresh and interesting modern Caribbean cuisine.

  • "Made reservation on behalf of my guest at exclusive resorts, and made comments on behalf of my guest. The brasserie is the greatest restaurant on island"

  • "We are from Manhattan and Brasserie rivals some of the best restaurants we have eaten at and boasts a casual rustic Caribbean atmosphere. Insanely delicious food - beautifully prepared- and the freshness makes all of the difference; the food is simply delectable. The staff is passionate about the ingredients and educating their patrons: "the eggs used to make your noodles are from the chickens outside!" The sommelier is fantastic. Beyond memorable..we will be visiting again and possibly this very trip!"

  • "For a trip to Grand Cayman, I'd skip this place. The food was great, but the atmosphere was like being in an American restaurant. If you want a taste of the island in atmosphere, this isn't the spot. Grilled cheese was AMAZING though!"

  • "Read numerous reviews on The Brasserie so had to try it while on the Cayman Island Great idea of their innovative Farm to Table meals and having their gardens right on site. Really enjoyed being inside their wine cellar and learning about wines. The food was delicious and Presentation was outstanding. Corey walked us thru the gardens explaining to us their visions and Reasons for trying various vegetables and herbs. Everything is fresh! We went back a second night."

  • "Food was very good. Fresh, farm to table ingredients. Service impeccable. If it wasn't for Ryan our server we would have been lost in the menu. He was Knowledgeable, with great recommendation. Especially his wine recommendation to compliment our meal. A true find and an excellent choice for foodies from NY."

  • "I have never left a review, but this place was worth it. Excellent food and service! The chef/owner was amazing and he took us on a tour of the garden and kitchen. The island has some over priced restaurants for average food, but The Brasserie is worth the price. Best place to eat on the island."

  • "The restaurant is beautiful and it's comfortable to sit there too! Most places that are that beautiful and chic aren't comfortable but the seating and staff make you feel comfortable. There are waves of staff coming by to make sure you have everything, your glass is full, and you have clean silverware. All of these things would make a restaurant nice to just sit there and eat a mediocre meal but Brasserie has impeccable food. My husband and I have put it at the top of our best food we've had not only in Cayman but anywhere. If I would've let him my husband would have licked the plates clean and he definitely tried to get every drop or morsel he could. Also, they have their own garden and try to make as much as they can from their garden!"

  • "This was the most fabulous dining experience my husband and I had on Grand Cayman! Took a five minute taxi ride to the financial district ( this is where they are located) and had a one of a kind dining experience. We ordered the chef's tasting menu, and every dish was beautifully presented and tasted even better! Our server Andrea was such a pleasure-- and that made our dinner that much better! All menu items are locally procured or grown in the attached garden room. ( Don't forget to ask for the tour to see this amazing space!) When we go back, this is a definite go-to spot! "

  • "Fabulous farm/boat-to-table dining experience in lovely British colonial atmosphere inside or table right in the middle of the "farm" outside. Always interesting & delicious......a foodie's nirvana. I have been fortunate to have dined in many many upscale restaurants & the Brasserie has to be #1 or 2 on my short list. Nothing finer than a piece of their just-caught fish with accompanying veggies just harvested from their garden. All prepared & served with sophistication, ease, & a smile! Don't miss an opportunity to dine here."

  • "We met friends at The Brasserie this year and had a wonderful evening celebrating our first anniversary of our 2013 marriage on Seven Mile Beach. The Brasserie made us feel as though we'd come home, instead of just visiting again. "

  • "Such an amazing restaurant! Food was terrific, service was outstanding. Not to be missed, the garden in the back. Most everything that is being prepared and served is grown in the back, or across the street. This was a real treat, to see this and get an explanation on the true meaning of "farm to table". Would highly recommend this restaurant, not to be missed on the Island!"

  • "For three years in a row the highlight of our diving trip to Cayman has been our dining experience at the Brassierie. We've always splurged and gone for the chef's 5-course tasting with wine pairings. From the delightful restaurant-grown vegetables to the attentive service, my wife and I have come to believe that this is our favorite restaurant."

  • "This is a great little fine out of the way in Georgetown. The food was excellent as well as the service. I really enjoyed the tuna ahi cooked perfectly to my specifications. If you enjoy craft beer, there's even a nice selection of Victory Beer on hand. The price fix menu they have on Monday night is a great deal. Highly recommended although it is VERY hard to find."

  • "After reading the amazing reviews this restaurant had, it was on our "must try" list while staying in the Cayman Islands. It was our first night's meal and it set the bar for the rest of the trip! Thursday nights have their specialty tacos and deals on their extensive wine list. We went on a double date with another couple and we were blown away by every menu item we tried! The staff were very friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend!"

  • "Eating at the Brasserie whenever we visit Cayman is always on our to-do list. The restaurant consistently offers innovative and deliciously fresh food and excellent service. If you're looking for a special evening out, away from the tourist beaten track, then this is the place for you."

  • "This restaurant was one of the last restaurants we ate at before leaving Cayman Islands. This, by far was the best food and service. The prices were reasonable and the food was really fresh and delicious! For appetizers, we had the oxtail tacos (AMAZING!), then we had the local organic salad (YUMMY and fresh!), and then the fish cakes - very good! We shared our main (which they split on two plated for us and made it look so beautiful). We ordered the wahoo (fresh catch). Below was a fresh medley of delicious vegetables. Our dessert was also so good. I honestly can't say anything bad about this place. I hate to say but I've been to Seven, Ragazzi, the lighthouse, Michael's Genuine, Yoshi (to name a few) and this was our favourite by far!"

  • "Our visit to Cayman is not complete without a stop at our favorite restaurant, the Brasserie! Elegant but not snooty, complex flavors but excellent presentation, and lots of local flavors and love make this restaurant a required stop. We had the "fish wings" as an appetizer--excellent snapper lightly breaded and fried with a smoky salsa. Thursday is taco night, so we enjoyed wahoo and steak tacos along with 1/2 price selected bottles of wine. Our son chose the mussels with an order of fries as his main course, and he cleaned the plate. The service was very good and consistent--this is a classy restaurant with no snootiness!"

  • "We never miss an opportunity to dine at the Brasserie and you shouldn't either. As many ingredients as possible are sourced locally, including their garden right outside. It is even possible to dine outdoors in the garden. The menu selections are remarkably sophisticated and beautifully executed. Monday's Secret Pleasure special is a gem! If you only have one night to dine out in Grand Cayman, make it the Brasserie!"

  • "Great food, great service, excellent wine and cocktail list. Can't believe this place exists on an island! Eat in the garden where they grow their own food for a quieter experience."

  • "You can't go wrong with this restaurant. Both the wife and I had fresh fish and were completely satisfied. A lot of the ingredients and chicken are grown/raised on site. Much of what isn't on site is fresh from the island. If you get a chance to go outside to eat, take a look around the outside garden. Not overpriced for the quality of food, presentation, and ambiance. Try it. You will be happy."

  • "We were in the Caymans to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary and couldn't have picked a better place to have dinner. We were welcomed by a very friendly hostess and staff. The food, attention from our server and atmosphere we perfect. To top it all off we were given a tour of the garden by the manager. What a wonderful night we had. We will certainly make it a point to visit the Brasserie the next time we are in the Caymans. Monica & Scott Cassarino"

  • "My husband and I happened to visit on a night when the passionate and gifted Chef/Owner Dean Max was in the house and what a treat! He set the stage for an exciting evening of the freshest, tastiest, local delicacies that could be found on the island. We had grouper and snapper that were caught in the their own fishing boats that morning, served with sauces and accompaniments that were creative and delicious. We ended the meal with a grilled pineapple napoleon with house-made coconut ice cream - beyond yummy. Then Chef Dean gave us a personal tour of the gardens, showing us all the exotic varieties of edible plants they grow to support the restaurant. We ended the magical evening by buying his cookbook, A Life By The Sea. Truly memorable."

  • "outstanding service. Ryan, Cory, Claudia are truly some of the best Service Providers I have ever had. Food outstanding and freshly grown--mostly in their own garden, great beer and wine choices. a beautiful building with great ambience. We went twice in a week and both times were outstanding. Caution --they close for August holiday."

  • "This was easily our best meal in Cayman, hands down. The food was not only beautifully presented but was delicious. My husband and I chose the Monday couples special, which included appetizer, entree, dessert, and a bottle of wine. We both had the snapper, caught fresh on one of The Brasserie's two fishing boats. Great deal. Our daughter, 10, ordered the pork loin which was delicious and perfectly cooked. Waitstaff were knowledgeable and attentive. On the table are pickles, peppers and other vegetables that are marinated and pickled. Be sure to try them, as they ( as most of the veggies do) come from their garden in the back. Enjoy!"

  • "We stayed at the Ritz and this was the best food we had on our vacation. Highly recommend it. It is a little tricky to find. We drove around a bit before we found it. Don't give up! We will visit this restaurant again and again on our next trip. You need a reservation."

  • "With its non-touristy island feel, locally sourced food, and excellent chef, this restaurant delivered on all levels for us. We enjoyed seeing the kitchen garden and being treated to a behind the scenes tour of the kitchen in action with Chef Joe. Seeing the fresh produce (fish from their own boats, veggies from their own garden etc...) first hand, and the brigade in action, reaffirmed that the dining experience was no fluke. We enjoyed the 5-course Chef's menu - each dish made at the discretion of the Chef (you eat blind) - and had the sommelier's wine pairing - collectively ~$100CI per person - and it was worth the price. I highly recommend the Brasserie."

  • "We had a great experience! Our server was very attentive without being annoying. The food was very fresh and cooked to perfection. While its a very nice and more romantic restaurant, we did have our 7 year old with us and he was welcomed & they even had a kids menu. We come to Grand Cayman every year & this is our new favorite."

  • "My husband and I went here for his birthday this week and had an absolute fabulous time. We decided to do the Chef's Tasting Menu and were totally shocked by how much fun and how wonderful it was. It's always a bit nerve wracking putting it in someone else's hands but Chef Joe created a wonderful menu for us. We truly had a blast. Not only will we be returning but I think we will do the tasting menu again. In fact we probably will do tasting menus at restaurants that have it available. I would definitely recommend you visiting here and doing the tasting menu, put your adventure cap on."
