We were not rushed.6/10/2013 12:00:00 AMGem in locust valleyOur first time to the Brass Rail and we will definitely be going back. Liked the wide selection of food, particularly the diverse appetizers. We enjoyed the soft shell crabs, mushroom risotto, grilled octopus and grilled artichokes. Portions are sizable particularly the cherry cobbler dessert. Altogether a fine meal and reasonably priced.6/7/2013 12:00:00 AMWe always have the best ofWe always have the best of experience at The Brass Rail.6/6/2013 12:00:00 AMgreat local findrelaxed atmosphere, good service, very good food--5/23/2013 12:00:00 AMNice FindNew to the area. Found this place through Open Table. I had the nightly special which was lasagna. It was among the one or two best lasagna dishes I have had in many years. The service was superb.5/21/2013 12:00:00 AMDecided to go here becauseDecided to go here because we dine often at the sister restaurant in Glen Head. All food was delish. Glad we tried it.5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMSo gald you came to LVWe really needed a restaurant in Locust Valley with good food and good servce. The staff is professional and friendly, but not too on top of you. They add something special to every dish. You can bring anyone and they will leave happy.5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat spot in Locust Valley!Brass Rail as delicious. Went there on a Friday night with my girlfriend and another couple and the service was great and food was even better. THey have a great offering on the menu - very eclectic with nice combinations of veggies/side dishes. Definitely recommend!5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMMay 1 LI Dining WeekHad been here once before in another restaurant life this time took advantage of the wekly special: Chicken cordo bleu and Mahi 3 COURSE MEAL it was very good. I would have liked a little more spirited stuffing in my chicken (speck and gruyere a little light) and my wife would have liked a bit more spice in the blackened Mahi. They have a good handle on their cooking and food quality and the service follow up across the board was spot on.
Very varied menu wiorth a return trip, Gary..5/1/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food, great service,Great food, great service, reasonable prices.A DEFINITE PLACE TO GO TO AGAIN.4/28/2013 12:00:00 AMThe GEM in Locust Valley, NYLove to come to Locust Valley to The Brass Rail, what .a great find. We come from Farmingdale, wish it was closer, but well worth the ride.
We have been there many, many times for dinner and special family occasions. Wed night it was for our birthdays and Mothers Day, we had Robbi as a server, very sweet, professional and put a birthday candle in dessert, without asking, sweet! Would highly recommend to everyone, and have.
It was noises because a very large group came in that couldn't all be sat int he bar area, but we didn't mind, it was fun! See you again soon, The Wilson's. We'll be back soon!4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMHave been to Brass Rail moreHave been to Brass Rail more than a half dozen times and each time we go we reminded as to why we love this retaurant. Great service, great foood and great ambiance. Tables are not on top of eachother, you can actually have conversations and are able to hear eachother and great round table so everyone is a part of the conversation. This last time I asked the waiter if the bartender could make me a jalepeno margarita which was not on the menu, he told me no problem they actually have the fresh jalepenos and the drink was amazing. Any special requests or changes to dishes were met perfectly and with a smile.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMAte at the Brass Rail earlyAte at the Brass Rail early on a Friday night. From the street, it doesn't look like much but the ambiance and decor inside are terrific if a little small. We had a reservation and were seated right away. The menu has lots of wonderful choices, including small bites and full entrees. Our meals (both steak dishes) were terrific--the food here is excellent. By the time we left, the place was hopping--very crowded with a lively bar scene upfront. Highly recommended.4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMFirst time here. Loved theFirst time here. Loved the food!! We were 5 people and we all thoroughly loved what we ordered. Would have preferred to sit in the back room but the round table we had by the bar was fine.
