Diner Reviews
  • "We had a great experience from the service to food. My steak was prepared to perfection and the portion was huge for the amount of money. I will recommend to my friends and will experience again."

  • "Four of us had dinner on a Friday night. Everything was excellent, except for one entree, which was not bad but not quite up to par. The person who had that meal chose not to ask for it to be redone, but after telling the waiter we were not charged for that entree. I had the best duck dish I have ever eaten - a mixture of breast cooked to perfection, sausage, and crispy leg & thigh with risotto and asparagus. Absolutely delicious. I am still thinking about that meal."

  • "Getting reservation was not a problem. May be because it was Wednesday. This was our second visit. Service was excellent. Server and Chef were very open and welcoming of our request for Vegetarian food. We told them what we like and what we do not like. Chef prepared very delicious Vegetarian food for me and my wife whose birthday we were celebrating. Our friends also had very good experience with their food too. Excellent dessert with Happy Birthday message and candle too."

  • "Service was excellent, adjusted to pace. Not in a hurry but was ready to move accordingly. Server went with the flow and allowed the moment to happen. Food was outstanding, pricy but worth it and did not dissappoint."

  • "The kitchen was firing on all cylinders Saturday night-- composition, balance of flavors, perfect cooking technique, notably fish; and great service by Josh."

  • "My sisters from Atlanta and I really enjoyed our meal here at the restaurant that had delicious food (especially the appetizers of mussels and shrimp). Service was efficient and very pleasant. They commented on how nice it was to see the chef in the restaurant. The only negative (and kind of a big one) was the smoking in the bar that made it difficult to even stand in the hostess section. We felt bad for the folks standing there, even though there was an air purifier there. It was also discouraging that this meant that we wanted to sit as far from the window & door as we could get because I love the bay windows there."

  • "Best crab cakes ever! The fried okra salad is amazing and grouper was delicious. Very unique and tasty desserts as well!"

  • "Second I e here and the sequal did not disappoint. The filet was cooked to perfection. The cheese sampler was a delightful explosion of flavor in each mouthful."

  • "Overall my husband and I were satisfied with the food and the decor. It was VERY busy in the dining room and so a bit noisy, BUT! it was a Friday night and a beautiful spring evening so I am not surprised at how busy they were. I had the duck and elk sausage and it was so good. The only negative for me about my meal was the rice that wasn't completely cooked and a bit bland. The asparagus was decent. My husband had the salmon and he LOVED it. The slaw made the meal for him. Our desserts consisted of Chocolate, Peanut Butter Jelly Time!, and we got a orange creme brulee. The last being both our favorites. The wine list was extensive, and had a great range in pricing depending on how much a person is looking to spend. We will be back."

  • "We had a great evening at the Bottle. The food was terrific and the wait staff was superb. I highly recommend the scallops, and you must save room for the bread pudding."

  • "Great food. We felt like the server while very nice, was not very attentive. Alcohol was too expensive plain and simple. The cocktails we got were nothing special for $12 a piece. I also had a beer that was $10! I wouldn't have ordered the beer had I known it was $10. Oh well, good food. We will be back."

  • "We hosted 3 business dinners at The Bottle this week for out of town business guests. We already knew The Bottle was the best in Huntsville. Our business associates commented that our meal was as good as anything they had eaten in New York, Washington DC, Los Angeles...... Huntsville is lucky to have a restaurant as great a s The Bottle."

  • "Beautiful decor and seating. Server was pretentious and haughty. The actual service was good it was more his attitude. The crabcake was good and the succatash was a good bed although green pepper was a little heavy. I had the pan seared grouper. The sauce was too etoufee sauce was too salty which spoiled what was a lovely fish. However my wife ordered the twin pork chops. Oh my. They were perfectly grilled and were superb. We both love pork and I would say these pork chops were perhaps the best we ever had. We found room for a mediocre bread pudding (me) and an outstanding almond cheesecake with Cabernet sorbet (my wife) Overall the place was good. Obviously my wife chose wisely. About $160 with tip."

  • "Given the size of Huntsville, understand the restaurant scene is limited so it is great to find a selection of fine dining establishments to choose from. Service: Very good, warm, friendly, attentive Food: Nouveau Cuisine, good menu, decent variety Presentation well done however, food was surprisingly just "fair." Seafood very salty. Husband's NY Strip, while cooked perfectly medium, contained abundant silver gray grizzle. An upscale restaurant should know better. Portions were decent. To be fair, husband took clients here week before, had rabbit which he said was very good. While I was not enthused about the food overall, this was my first experience here. Given the service, atmosphere, menu variety, I will give it another try."

  • "You can always count on having a fabulous meal at The Bottle! My husband and I celebrated Valentine's dinner there. I had the filet with Parmesan risotto and brussel sprout hash. So good. My husband had the New York stripe and he cleaned his plate. Kevin is our favorite waiter. He is perfectly attentive and so knowledgeable about food and wine."

  • "I made my reservation early for two. Four of our friends asked to be included so the reservation was changed to six. I was told the table would be ready. I must admit I expected to be on the first floor. I was disappointed to have to go to the second floor. The room vibrated all through the meal. But I assume that's the price paid for changing the reservation. Our waiter wasn't as friendly as I expected but he was good."

  • "We have been to The Bottle a handful of times and it never disappoints! The food is fantastic, the service is the best around, and if you leave hungry it is your own fault."

  • "Went to the bottle for the first time valentines day. I cannot say enough about the service, decor and atmosphere. The food however was not my favorite. We have dined at many other restaurants of the same caliber, but have kept us coming back for the outstanding food. We most likely will be not be dining here again. I wanted to comment real quick on a lot of other comments about the smoke. I can understand if you are sitting down stairs it is pretty bad. However if you request to sit upstairs there is absolutely no smell of smoke."

  • "Excellent food and presentation as we used to find at Green Bottle Grill. As a non smoker the cigar aroma from the adjacent bar is annoying."

  • "Bottom-line up front:The Bottle's menu and pricing, should place it as an equal to the finest restaurants in Huntsville, however it falls well short of then likes of Cotton Row. Before dinner cocktails were perfect! The service was spectacular, although at times it seemed a bit rushed between courses (however, that may have been due to the fact that it was Valentine's Day and it was a full house). Our salads were fantastic! Our appetizers and main courses, however, left us saying, "That was delicious, but...": my bisque was slightly on the cool side and lacked depth, my wive's Bottle Rocket Shrimp was slightly soggy & lobster was on the dry side. Nothing that made us say, "That was lousy!", but not what you would expect from a $300 meal."

  • "My spouse and me and our guests were elated with the greeting, table location, service (Mack-I think, was great), food-prepared to perfection, visit by chef was a surprise, wine list was great. Yes, we'll be back again and again. Thanks!"

  • "Everyone has an off night . We have been here at least 5 other times in the past 12 months. Our meal was average, nothing special. We have again. Eaten in the past with rave reviews. Try at least once. If you become under-whelmed, try again before you walk away. We will be back, but will feel more freedom with some constructive critique should it be warranted."

  • "Birthday celebration, dinner for 4. Very attentive waitstaff, creative and well-prepared food; fresh. Wilted slaw salad, fried okra/heirloom tomato salad were hits. Lovely pecan-crusted trout. Drawback (and this really DID detract from the experience): smoke from the bar area drifted into the dining room. They should make the whole place smoke-free. Minor drawback: our table for 4 was too small to accommodate the plates, utensils, and glasses. Server had to remove the wineglasses (which we wanted to keep!) to serve the salad."

  • "Our party of four dined at The Bottle in downtown HSV celebrating a special occasion. This was our first visit to the restaurant and we thoroughly enjoyed most everything we ate. I've had the opportunity to work briefly with Chef Chris, so I knew his style and was excited to see his new place and I was not disappointed in the least. I think the plates we ordered were excellent, our service was exceptional and when asked a question of technique, the chef came to our table, explained it and let us sample what he called "Honey Bee Eggs"! Wonderful! It was a quiet place on a Monday night, and we plan on visiting again soon, maybe on a Friday or Saturday this time!"

  • "The waiter didn't tell me that I would be getting Mahi Mahi instead of the snapper I ordered. And it was undercooked. But the cheese grits, salads, lamb chops, veggies and creme brule were executed better than most restaurants. Slightly overpriced but I will go there again since there aren't a lot options like this Huntsville."

  • "This is the second time my wife and I dined at The Bottle. We absolutely loved both the service and the food last time, but this time both were lacking. Our service was so slow that we skipped dessert, although we'd planned for dessert from the beginning. It may be due to the hour and the day (Saturday, 8pm reservations), but the restaurant should be prepared for this. We're reconsidering future meals in Huntsville."

  • "We had a birthday dinner for my husband on Jan. 11. I had the filet and he had the beef burgandy. My steak was tender, but seemed so because of either excessive fat or too much butter cooked in.....just tasted greasy. My husband liked his dish, but it was also very rich. We both had the slaw ,which was very good and unusual. We went back for desserts after the symphony, which were awesome!! We will probably return for another special occasion."

  • "Friendly service, food and wine were very good, but each time the door opened, the cigarette smoke would enter the dining room and cause conversation to stop and disappointment hung in the atmosphere. Perhaps the owners will take a tip from the Kaffeeklatsch and eliminate indoor pollution at The Bottle so that we can return again."

  • "My wife and I really enjoyed our first visit to The Bottle on New Year's Eve, where we found the appetizer, wine, and main course excellent and well worth a revisit. Menu was a little pricey, roughly on a level with Ruth's Chris and other premium restaurants in the area, not the 2 star level reported in the Open Table review (Ruth's Chris was 5 star). That said, the food was prepared expediently and was extremely tasty, especially the Beef Satay appetizer that was unconventional to the usual Thai preparation style, but possibly the best I've ever had, tender with a delicious and subtle sauce flavoring. Entrees were also prepared to flawless perfection, large enough to preclude consideration of dessert that night. Maybe next trip..."

  • "We celebrated a wonderful New Year's Eve with family at The Bottle. Everything was wonderful as usual except for the smoke and the occasional cold draft which blew in when the door was open. We sat in the main dining room near the entrance/bar area and the occasionall smells of cigars and cigarettes from the bar were a little too strong. Not the kind of thing we want to experience when enjoying a nice meal with family. Next time we will request to be seated further inside away from the bar and drafty entrance. Other than those two nits the food was very good and the service was excellent."

  • "Went here for our anniversary dinner. Service was rude. Food was great, except we had to taste it in the middle of second hand cigarette smoke. Never did we expect such a seemingly nice place to allow smoking. We won't go back unless it's made non-smoking. We are forgiving on service, but allowing smoking is ridiculous."

  • "I brought friends from Atlanta for the evening. The meal and the service was divine. The filet was tender, seasoned, and cooked to perfection. Pork chop and grouper were equally well done - both with unique and delicious sides. Our server was knowledgable and made good suggestions. My Only problem at all with the experience was the smell of cigar/ cigarette smoke that wafted over from the small bar at the entrance of the restaurant. My dinner mates were not as annoyed as me, but were more surprised the opportunity to smoke indoors still existed. I'd prefer it didn't. I'll come again because the food is that good, but I'll ask to be seated as far away from the bar as possible."

  • "Everything about our night at The Bottle was great except for the smoke. We sat in the main dining room and only occasionally smelled the cigar and cigarette smoke from the bar, but it was fairly strong on occasion. Not the kind of thing most non-smokers want to experience with a nice meal."

  • "We went early so we could have privacy for my husbands birthday and enjoy our evening. Staff was hovering to arrange plates, silverware, polish glasses and not once were we able to talk in private. Our waiter was excellent but the food was just okay and not worth the expensive prices. We have had better food cheaper."
