He told the waitress (Chelsea) that it was so watery, it was tasteless. She asked if she could replace it with the lobster bisque. She did and it was great. She provided impecable service. The menu has something for everyone, and all our choices were prepared perfectly. The wine list is concise, very well put together with great information on the varietals and food pairing. The ambiance was vibrant and a little noisy. Great view, right on the beach. Overall very good experience. Best value was probably the Seafood Share Platter for $29.99 - though not huge, it was probably the best value for what you get compared to all the other individual appies and entrees - and it was arranged in a pleasing way.
Found drinks to be priced too high - $9.25 for 20oz Beer? - and it didn't really look much bigger than a pint (was expecting a pint, so would've been nice for them to tell me there were two sizes first)
Should also update their online menu pricing - specifically for kids menu which says 9.99 for all (but it's actually different priced depending on selection (but does include juice/sundae)6/10/2013 12:00:00 AMDetailedThe detail is right. Upon arriving at out reservation time, we were greeted by friendly staff and promptly brought to our table which was right by the window. Had a friend in from out of town and the place was hopping as it was the first warm beach day of the year. The hostess, the waiter and the kitchen really pulled it off. We started with crab cakes and sweet chili chicken bites and both were as good as one would expect. I had the blackened halibut (excellent - perfectly cooked), my girlfriend the seafood hot pot (great variety and flavour) and my friend had the prime rib - by all accounts a winner. He really enjoyed the view (what's not to like?) and the service was very good (kudos to Ryan). Was pleasantly surprised by the extensive affordable well rounded wine list. Kudos to whoever revamped it (last time at a Boathouse was White Rock over a year ago).
