Our menus: www.thebluepoint.com.

A fresh approach to regional, coastal cuisine & southern hospitality alongside spectacular views of the Currituck Sound.
Inspired dinner & lunch menus served in a warm and inviting atmosphere by a professional and natural staff. Exceptional and friendly Wine Menu + Full Bar.

There are very limited reservations for groups larger than 6. In season, we do not accept reservations for groups larger than 12, and we do not split larger groups to get around this rule. Reservations can be made to have dinner at the bar.
We do have some seating available on a first come - first served basis so it is always worth checking to see if you can get a table. In season we have a large outdoor bar area where you can enjoy a cocktail while you wait.

No better place for good food, good wine, good friends and spectacular sunsets.

Diner Reviews
  • "Simply put, fresh, creative and delicious food served to you as the sun sets on the bay."
    Dined on 8/28/2014
  • "We have been vacationing in Corolla and Duck, NC for almost 20 years and have visited The Blue Point every year. It was a tiny place when we first discovered it but the food was so wonderful that we kept coming back. It has undergone renovations over the years but the quality of the food has remained superb. Definitely try the she-crab soup and the crab cakes entree. And definitely make a reservation."

  • "Great ambiance. Great drinks. Food is still very good. As has always been that case, it is not kid friendly, so try to find a baby sitter."

  • "Exellent, creamy, non-tradtional she crab soup. Both the cod & the trout were first rate. Some dishes are on the more highly seasoned side which I prefer. Everything seems fresh. The service has been consistantly friendly & helpful during the visits I have made every season. There is a good selection of wine by the glass at what would be a reasonable price for a big city bar. The wine list in general gets a Wine Spectator mention. Prices for the food seem high but not above what you would expect for a good seasonal restaurant. Deserts, such as the pecan pie and the cobbler are good but not overpowered by sugar. The only downside, & a minor one, is the bread. The corn bread in particular needs more of that distinctive corn taste."

  • "Awesome experience. I had noted that we were celebrating our anniversary on the reservation and everyone acknowledged that. Great, unique food."
    Dined on 8/25/2014
  • "Very good, friendly service, reasonable wine list, but food was disappointing. Rather than try to be trendy, would be better to prepare simple food perfectly. ."
    Dined on 8/25/2014
  • "Sure hand in the kitchen. Solid flavours. Nice vibe."
    Dined on 8/23/2014
  • "I just wish there were bigger portions for the price."

  • "What a wonderful place to spend a special evening! Beautiful view of the sound. Great food. Nice atmosphere. The only complaint we had was that one of is began our dinner experience with a great cocktail in a small PLASTIC cup. No, no, no. Please don't ruin your beautiful ambience this way. Glasses only, please, for such a nice restaurant with $$$ prices!"

  • "This is our third year to going to the Blue Point. The food is always outstanding and always very fresh. The service is very good and the atmosphere is very welcoming. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who enjoys a wonderful dining experience."

  • "One of my favorite dining experiences. Great waiter with tremendous knowledge. Food was amazing. Nice way to end a week at OBX."
    Dined on 8/22/2014
  • "Although I read the disclaimers on website there are few "nice" dining options in OBX. With a large group or young children, do not recommend. Large groups--see website. We booked a party of 5 (on OT) but they had us down for 4. Easy enough fix but majority of seating is 4 person booths. We had a toddler and there is only one kid food item--buttered pasta. We chose the mac n' cheese side which is cooked with pimentos--wonderful for adults, child did not approve. Limited menu overall but decent choices. Trout was standard. Other adults raved about their meals: mahi, scallops, crab cake. Price hard to justify unless you are a couple heading out to celebrate a significant occasion. Preferred Red Sky Cafe on all accounts except view."

  • "Everything about our dinner was great. The service was excellent, the food was incredible. I had the Mahi Mahi, my wife had the beef tenderloin. Both were great. I kept sneaking bites of my wife's steak because it was by far the best I have ever had, and I am a regular steak eater. Dessert, we had the pecan pie with bourbon ice cream, also incredible. By far the best overall meal I have ever had. The only knock on the place was it seemed a little loud, and the dude at the table next to me kept singing to his girlfriend which was annoying. Without a doubt the next time we are down there, we will be back."

  • "Great as always. We come to Duck every August and have dinner at the Blu Point twice each visit, and are never dissapointed. A little loud though"
    Dined on 8/21/2014
  • "This restaurant was good however it was very pricey. I don't mind pricey food if the portions reflect it. We left and were still hungry."
    Dined on 8/21/2014
  • "Blue Point is a must for outer banks visitors. It is the perfect blend of outstanding food and sense of place. Coastal-style cursing with finesse. The service is outstanding. The crab cakes are a staple. Everything including the desserts are terrific. We have been there as a couple and with large groups for a celebration dinner. Never disappointed."
    Dined on 8/18/2014
  • "Still the best ever. Great food, great location, and still the best on the outer banks. Lov ya mean it"
    Dined on 8/17/2014
  • "You can always count on a great meal at the Blue Point! David our server is exceptional! There was someone in our party with food allergies and he was able to answer all of her questions and the Chef provided her an excellent meal! Everyone, from the young lady who greeted us at the door to the bus boy were super. My favorite Outer Banks Restaurant!"
    Dined on 8/17/2014
  • "Food, service and ambiance were great. Noise level though was too loud. Maybe it was the party at the next table, maybe it's me. Loved the location. Service and food were great!"
    Dined on 8/16/2014
  • "Food and service were great. Very cool decor, almost a 50's throw back look. Crab dip was the best I've had on the outer banks. Mostly a seafood menu. They could use a few more meat choices for the mom seafood lover."
    Dined on 8/16/2014
  • "We have been coming here for 4 years--the food and service and ambience are all top notch! We do make a reservation each time about 3 weeks ahead--just to ensure a table! And it's worth every bit of it! We love this place! We will see you next time BluePoint!"

  • "Limited choices for nonseafood loving customers, but those choices (beef tenderloin and glazed pork chop) were quite nice. Accompaniments we'll matched and desert was nice as we'll. BUT, come to find out that my son had made arrangements with the restaurant to pay for our anniversary meal using his credit card, without our knowledge. No one at the restaurant seemed to know anything about it and we paid ourselves. Only when my son asked us about it did we find out about the arrangement. Not a customer friendly occurrence."

  • "Delicious food (loved the soup special--chilled tomato & basil with crab) and desserts. We were seated by the kitchen and the fans were very loud; preferred last year's table in the first room."
    Dined on 8/16/2014
  • "The view was spectacular and the she crab soup was the best I've ever had. Absolutely recommend this restaurant for any occasion. Great elevated outdoor bar, large grass area with Adirondack chairs for casual wine drinking and bay/sunset watching. The food is 5-Star all the way around, but the dress is nice casual. I saw a lot of shorts and flip-flops, so it really is the best of everything without the stuffy atmosphere."
    Dined on 8/15/2014
  • "Our meal was fine but not spectacular. People rave about this restaurant but I think it is overrated,"
    Dined on 8/14/2014
  • "Beautiful view, nice ambiance . Food was good, I feel it is bit overpriced. Nice wine list. However they so not cater at all to families with children . No high chairs , no kids menu, no willingness to adjust any item on the menu for kids . Only thing you could order for kids is noodles with butter... So if your child doesn't eat that you are stuck. They absolutely give the vibe that children are NOT welcome. Crazy! I'm the middle of DUCK, with all the families on vacation? They need to let patrons aware that this is how they roll. We would have spent our money elsewhere and have had a less condescending expedience."

  • "This is a very upscale and posh place. We took a two-year old with us and I was a little concerned about what her reception would be. The staff couldn't have been more accomodating. We had fabulous food, from the amuse bouche to the desserts. Highly recommended if you want fine dining."
    Dined on 8/13/2014
  • "Dinner at the Bluepoint was wonderful as always. She crab soup, iceberg salad, pork chops and the wonderful housemade ice cream. Great sunset view and serving staff start to feel like friends as we see the same ones from year to year."

  • "Have dined here many times - always a memorable meal. Excellent; will return."
    Dined on 8/12/2014
  • "We made 2 visits within a few months---fabulous each time! In season, we made reservations one week in advance. Service is exceptional, attentive but not too cloying. Crab cakes are thick with crabmeat and short on "filler." The dishes utilize fresh, local ingredients that ramp up the taste. The fresh peach and blueberry cobbler was delicious and was a great way to end a wonderful dinner!"
    Dined on 8/12/2014
  • "Well, I have to say that the Blue Pointe was disappointing compared to last year. The salads has no dressing at all; greens were delicious but ricotta cheese flakes had no taste. There was not even a tomato. The dinners were good but very small for the price. Last year was a much better meal. The waiter was great and as always the ambience was beautiful."
    Dined on 8/11/2014
  • "Still the best restaurant on the Outer Banks. Locally sourced food, cooked simply but extraordinarily well."
    Dined on 8/10/2014
  • "Perhaps it is just getting to the end of the tourist season. Service was outstanding, but the food was mediocre at best. The fish special lacked creativity - featuring a boring flounder. The crab cakes are no longer what they were. Much smaller, too much spice, not enough lump crab meat (used a lot of backfin) and an uninspired presentation. For a $32 entree, not a good deal. Blue Point is a great restaurant, but the chef needs to reenergize and step up her game."
    Dined on 8/9/2014
  • "We arrived early to have a drink in the backyard bar and watch the sunset. It was a great start to the evening. Dinner was outstanding. The crabmeat sauté is delish! Not at all like the traditional lumps swimming in butter. Our server was Felicia and she was so friendly and helpful - make a reservation and go!"

  • "Before dinner, you can relax in the yard, listen to music, have an intimate conversation or a raucous time with a group of friends. Then dinner is delicious, served with precision. Red leather banquettes are a great feature. Watching people at the bar also entertaining if the conversation lulls."

  • "Everything was as it has always been since we've been going to the OBX. Fried green tomatoes appetizer and she crab soups are a must have NOW! I had the crab special with spoon read (best meal I've had at the BPG to date). My brother in law had the pork chop which was excellent, sister in law did her usual scallops (great) and my wife had the daily grill special, also good. Extra bonus, they had two bottles left of the '09 Chimney Rock Cab!"

  • "The Blue Point has been a long-time favorite of ours. We come to the Outer Banks once a year and can't wait to get here for our special date-night vacation highlight. The food and service are always great, with fabulous creative dishes from the chef, and the sunset view is amazing. This is a 1st class dining experience."

  • "My husband and I really enjoyed our meal at The Blue Point. The food is simply wonderful! We savored (and devoured!) each dish as it came our way. We enjoyed the fried green tomatoes with crawfish slaw, the she crab soup (favorite dish of the night!), the lump crab meet sauté, the trout dish, and tasty dark chocolate brownie with homemade coffee ice cream. This restaurant rivaled some of our favored fine dining spots back in Washington, DC. The service was fast and friendly. I highly recommend you try it out!"
