Our server, Branda was exceptional... pleasant, knowledgeable and efficient going above and beyond. So thrilled that we found The Black Pig... Do yourself a favor and check it out as soon as you are able... It's a great find and an asset to the Cleveland dining scene. Can't wait to go back and introduce our friends to the Black Pig.6/7/2013 12:00:00 AMAnother wonderful place toAnother wonderful place to dine on W. 25th! Overall a great experience. Food was excellent as always. Staff was very accomodating and friendly. Our server, Branda, was exceptional. I would reccomend the Black Pig to anyone.6/7/2013 12:00:00 AMSurprised every time!!I have now been to The Black Pig six times and have enjoyed it all six. I find myself having a different enjoyable experience each time. There are always new dishes on the menu and I am blown away by something I haven't had before on each trip. This time we had the Duck Confit as an appetizer which was excellent. The Wednesday special of Short Ribs has been on my wish list since having Ohio Beef on my first visit and it lived up to my six months of expectations. We finished with the Chocolate Truffle desert which was a borderline religious experience. This Ohio City gem is my favorite restaurant and I can not believe it is not packed 7 nights a week. Well worth it! Can not go wrong at The Black Pig!6/5/2013 12:00:00 AMFirst timerFirst Time at Black Pig. 7:45 p.m. Saturday night reservations, table was ready for us. Enjoyed mussells as appetizer, simple salad, pork chop special, scallops, draft of Cleveland IPA, pitcher of Malbec, and macroons for dessert. We had a wonderful time, and would definitely come back.6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat diningWait staff were attentive and informed. Menu was varied, heavy on pork and the food was very well prepared. We were not at the bar but it was full and patrons seemed to be having a good time. It got a little noisy as the restaurant filled for dinner but you could carry on a conversation without yelling.5/31/2013 12:00:00 AMAwesome food, service, andAwesome food, service, and beer! I'm 'big on the pig!' - want to go back and try more of the menu. We enjoyed the House Sausage and barley dish, the Ohio beef dish with short rib, and roasted mushrooms with left hand milk stout. Wow- they were delicious. You'll enjoy it too!5/31/2013 12:00:00 AMmichael & cara...thank youhi...what a great meal!!! micheal cooked for us...amazing & cara served us like we were royalty!!! can't wait to return!!!5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMNever been let down! This was my fifth or sixth time and the food is equisite. The cheese and meat plates for appetizers are outstanding. Our server, Jennifer, was friendly and knowledgeable. I had two friends with me, one from Chicago, and he was blown away!
Also, the Sticky Pig is remarkable!5/22/2013 12:00:00 AMChef's TastingOne word: Amazing! A must try for your first visit, or any visit.5/19/2013 12:00:00 AMFood was excellent. ServiceFood was excellent. Service a bit slow, but still solid.5/19/2013 12:00:00 AMYum!Our table chose to have the Chef's Tasting Menu. Foods are locally sourced. The salad was delicious and a perfect palate-cleansing way to start the meal. The meat courses were outstanding -- sausage and pate with pickles and pickled onions, seared sea scallops with sunchoke puree, and Ohio beef over eggplant puree with a rich sauce. Dessert was the only letdown. The chocolate crepe cake was tasty enough, but dense and chewy.
We would definitely return to the Black Pig!5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat but bring a hatThe food was great. The drinks were great. The staff was great. The sun was not great. If going to eat rooftop before sundown, being some sunscreen and a hat.5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMGood Food, Great Service! We had a great time celebrating my husband's birthday at Black Pig. At the very last minute, I needed to change a party of 8 to a party of 10, and the M.O.D was very accommodating . He made space for us even though they were fully booked on a busy Saturday night- I was very appreciative!
Our server was excellent-very friendly, brought our drinks out quickly (10 bar drinks are hard for some places to get out in a timely fashion!), got every order exactly right (despite several special orders), paced the meal perfectly- all things that are hard to do with a large group!
Food was really good! I had the house sausage and my husband had the half chicken, portions were perfect and delicious.
All in all, a great night out!5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat timeI went to black pig on a Thursday night early in the summer. We found the wait staff to be very attentive but not overbearing. We took our time with dinner and never once felt rushed. We had both the scallops and the duck and both dishes were delicious.
Highly recommend this place.5/16/2013 12:00:00 AMgreat dinnerMy husband and I ate at the Black Pig on Saturday night. We had never been there or heard anything about it. We thought the food was excellent and the service friendly and helpful. We would definitely go again and bring some friends.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMIts not just about the pigMy husband and I went here on a Saturday night. We both love pork but wanted to explore beyond the obvious pork selections. We ordered the pork belly appetizer and the cheese and meat board. The pork belly was very good...but we both agreed we had better elsewhere. We really enjoyed the cheese and meat board. We were not planning to order it but my husband wanted to try the sausage. Great variety of both cheese and meats. I was pretty full so ordered a salad and the asparagus which was perfectly grilled. My husband ordered the scallops which I thought was a big risk since we were in a restaurant which was all about the pig. Ended up a great choice. He loved them. Service was friendly and atmosphere was fun.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food was awesome. ThereThe food was awesome. There were 3 of us, all ordered something different and tried each others meals and loved them all. Our server (Cara sp?) was very good and knowledgeable.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Sunday Brunch!Met some folks here last weekend for Sunday Brunch. They don't really advertise the brunch, but some great menu items and no crowd or wait! It was a beautiful day, so we sat on the back patio/deck and drank in the sunshine! Definitely try the Pate & Eggs!5/5/2013 12:00:00 AMBlack PigThe interrior of the restaurant was great. It was a fabulous place for dinner. The Ohio Beef was really good.5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMMany fantastic options toMany fantastic options to pick from on the menu - It covers Vegetarians to Meat eating customers. I loved the local growning items to pick from. I had the Vegetable Bani Mah (I think thats how it was spelled) & it was delicious. Very relaxing sitting up on the patio & viewing the area.5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMAnother hot hit in Ohio city.Booked on open table for our second trip to black pig. Asked to sit on the new rooftop patio and it was great outdoor space. The food and service were both very good. Small but fun wine list and draft list. They had a nice cocktail list but we did not partake in it this trip. Great food at amazing prices. 10 bucks for either the cheese or meat is one of the best deals in town5/1/2013 12:00:00 AMFor our second time to theFor our second time to the Black Pig we tried the 5 course tasting meal which was fabulous! Chef Nowak personally delivered and explained the dishes which were expertly prepared, including both meat and seafood dishes, touched with seasonal ramps. Awesome!4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMTerrific restaurantHad a terrific meal. Love this place and wish it was closer. Their house-made sausages and pickles are amazing. Fries are the best I've ever eaten, particularly with the garlic aioli.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMOne of my top 5 fav restaurantsOne of my top 5 fav restaurants in CLE! So yourself a favor and make a reservation ASAP!4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMWe enjoyed the Chef tastingWe enjoyed the Chef tasting of 5 delicious courses. The Chef visited our table and asked our allergies, likes and dislikes. He then proceeded to prepared 5 delicious courses for us. The pacing was perfect, the size portions were perfect, he explained each course to us....all in all just wonderful!4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMThe Pig Rules!I reserved a party of 10 in the morning for a 1pm Saturday lunch then drove in from Sandusky. They were ready for us and took great care of our table. Everyone in the group thanked me for suggesting this restaurant. I loved the fact that Chef was using locally sourced food. Watch people walking in with fresh produce (Westside Market?). The Chef took great care insuring that each plate was just right. He even helped carry finished plates to a few of the tables. We all ate mostly small plates and sandwiches. Can't wait to return for a dinner servioe.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had the cheese and meatWe had the cheese and meat board which was excellent. The bar area may need another TV added. The Croque Madam was awesome. Their happy hour specials were very good. 4 dollar wine and 5 food specials to choose from. I would go back again.4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMThe Ohio Beef was great -The Ohio Beef was great - especially the short rib, it just melted in your mouth!!4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMThe black Pig was really aThe black Pig was really a nice treat. Wanting to try something different besides the high end chains I was curious about the variety on the menu and wanted to see if they could pull it off.they did! from appetizers to desert everything was delicious! also the waiter a lady whose name I don't recall was very nice and helpful. She was on top of things as we were kind if in a hurry heading to a play.I would definitely go again and try different things. love places like this where I have to try and get through the menu because there are so many good things to try.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMSimply outstanding! TheSimply outstanding! The opportunity to meet the chef and enjoy his five course menu was a surprising and pleasant opportunity and the service was impeccable.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMWhat am I?Nice little restaurant. Service was great, very attentive. Food was good, not all at a "foodie"level though. It can't seem to figure out what it wants to be. Do you want to be casual, as the environment suggests? Do you want to be finer dining as some of the menu items would suggest? My husband had the duck which was superb and I had the pasta, flavor good but bizarre combo with pasta. We were given the specials and my husband chose it but they were out and they were out of our first 2 choices of wine.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMTry the Sticky PigBecoming a regular for a good night out! Celebrated my wife's birthday...excellent! Love the Sticky Pig!!!4/12/2013 12:00:00 AMOur first visit, we LOVEDOur first visit, we LOVED it. First , my " sand & blood " cocktail was awesome. Skipped appetizers, I had the pate with eggs-- husband had the pork schnitzel- both were absolutely de-lish!! And for dessert our lovely server asked the chef to make a French toast portion size for us... Perfect!!
Great atmosphere, attentive friendly staff-- although it was Sunday not sure when things are hopping how it goes
Can't wait to go back. Thanks for a lovely dining experience4/7/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had a very nice SundayWe had a very nice Sunday Brunch at the Black Pig. The "Toad in a Hole" was very tasty - toast with an egg in the middle and covered with yummy cheese. Poached pear salad was also excellent. Frites and gravy were decadent! Decor was warehouse chic and very comfortable.4/7/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent, just excellent.Excellent, just excellent. We force ourselves to not go there every week (just every other week).4/7/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat meal! Our food was great! It was the first time at The Black Pig. There were three of us on a girl's night out. We arrived early for our reservation since we were in the area, so sat at the bar and had drinks and an appetizer. My friend got a Blackberry mojito, which was delicious. I got a virgin blackberry mojito which was really good and refreshing too. We got the cheese plate for an appetizer, which came with three cheeses, crusty bread, flatbread, and fruit. We were seated on time for our reservation. We ordered the Ohio beef, the pork tenderloin, and the duck breast. Each were flavorful and delicious with perfect accompaniments. I think we decided that the beef was the best. I recommend this restaurant!4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMFood was great...very loudFood was great...very loud place to a fault. Very hard to hear other people at the same table speaking.4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMWe did the tasting menu andWe did the tasting menu and it was delicious. The food was fantastic and the fact the Chef came to talk to us to tailor our menu was wonderful.4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMMy wife and I thoroughly enjoyedMy wife and I thoroughly enjoyed everything we ate, having chosen cocktails and shared both an appetizer and salad, and then having separate entrees. Interesting and complex combinations of flavors in everything we tried. Service was very good and the design and operation of the restaurant resembled European and American big-city locations for similar popular-dining places that are congenial and welcoming and offer interesting menu choices.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMThe Black Pig offers a varietyThe Black Pig offers a variety of entrees that focus on meat. A great way to start, is the cheese and meat platter and there is plenty of food to share. The Croque Madame should be ordered by someone in your party! It is the best sandwich in Cleveland. Atmosphere is very nice with tall ceilings and the walls have the combination of exposed brick and hardwood. Go to The Black Pig for a date or a night out with friends. You will not be disappointed.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had a birthday party andWe had a birthday party and wanted to reserve for 8 to 10 but it was just I possible. Ended up booking for just 7 because we were unsure. That was a pain, but aside from one cranky hostess, everyone else did a great job accommodating our needs.
The food was fantastic, though limited options for vegetarians.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMIf you're calling yourselfIf you're calling yourself The Black Pig, then your pork belly had better be exceptional. It was! So was the rest of the food. My husband and I will be back. The food, the service, the atmosphere...all outstanding.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMDinner was superb-- four peopleDinner was superb-- four people so a pretty good mix of tastes. Duck was cooked perfectly and I even substituted parsnip for the sweet potatoes, Scallops were out of this world and the stack and frittes were ridiculously abundant. Waitress even talked the table into the chocolate plate for dessert---looked great but I stop a dinner. Parked at the west side market and walked over it was very convenient. Cannot wait to go again, hope we get the same waitress.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food and nice changeGreat food and nice change up from your typical menu. The eggplant puree that came with the beef entree was excellent!3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMMy third time there in fourMy third time there in four weeks. Consistently great food and excellent service.3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMWe dined at the Black PigWe dined at the Black Pig on a cold Saturday night. Since then, we've been sharing with everyone how enjoyable our experience was. We decided to order the chef's tasting menu, which is specifically catered to one's personal tastes. It was so much fun not knowing what the next course would be, and then to have the chef himself bring out the finished plates with detailed introductions. Each plate was better than the last. My husband especially liked the quality selection of beers. Overall, the exposed brick decor is cozy and laid back, the food is inventive and flavorful, and the beers were fit for beer snobs.3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMDon't miss this Ohio City GEM!This was beyond my expectations! Chose the chef's tasting as we were there to celebrate a birthday. Not only was the food amazing but Chef Michael Nowak is friendly, accommodating and wildly creative to say the least. The food was so fresh and beautifully presented. Tried some different things and was really glad I did. Check out the Hogwash Belgian ale too...fantastic! I will definitely return to The Black Pig. I am especially excited to see what Chef Nowak comes up with for his Spring menu! Very memorable experience.3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMOrder the sticky pig, an exceptionaOrder the sticky pig, an exceptional drink, and get the special of the day, always good!3/6/2013 12:00:00 AM
