A word from The Bistro - Biltmore Estate
The Bistro is located on the grounds of the Biltmore Estate, right next door to Biltmore's award-winning winery. Please be aware that you must have a valid paid estate admission ticket, be a guest of Inn on Biltmore Estate, or be a Biltmore Twelve Month Passholder to dine on property.

The Bistro features contemporary American fare, served with gracious hospitality. Fresh, seasonal, and local ingredients are the focus on the dinner menu, which features premium steaks, impeccable mountain trout and seafood, poultry and lamb. Chef Bill Klein creates French bistro-inspired recipes featuring estate–raised products and locally grown produce. Gardens on the estate produce a wide array of vegetables and fruits throughout the seasons, and our extensive pasture lands provide all-natural, hormone-free Black Angus beef and lamb. Our Field–to–Table Program extends to include many local farmers as well as artisan producers of everything from farmstead cheeses to trout caviar. Continued

Diner Reviews
  • "Enjoyed The Bistro at the Biltmore Estates. Menu offered an array of favorites and a variety of local fare. Great food. "

  • "They offered a variety of menu choices. Our food was plated well, and was delicious. The service was excellent. We have eaten here before and will be back."

  • "My girlfriend and I spent two days in Ashville last week and thoroughly enjoyed our time at the Blitmore Estate, gardens, cycling, and touring. There was jazz at the Gazebo and a general sense of relaxation all around. We had tried to book the Bistro for lunch but waited til the day of and settled on an early dinner when no times were available. We thought it would probably end up being tourist food, but were surprised to find the restaurant, staff, wine selection, and food to be top notch. It was one of two of the best meals we had while in Ashville. Kudo's to the staff, chef, and waiters at the Bistro. We will definitely be back!"

  • "Our server Bobby was excellent!! Our dinners were wonderful except the chocolate dessert dome. The cake part seemed grainy and dry. I prefer the former chocolate dome dessert and/or a brownie with sauce maybe even with ice cream. The presentations were very attractive."

  • "Wonderful food, service in a beautiful wilderness/garden setting. The menu was so great we had trouble choosing our various courses. The server Ali was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. The Biltmore wines have improved tremendously over the years and are can be perfectly paired with the entrees and appetizers. Have and will continue to go there."

  • "Great meal and our waiter was great! Dessert menu needs more choices is our only suggestion. We have been three times and always come back."

  • "The food at the bistro was okay nothing extraordinary but it was really overpriced."

  • "We had a wonderful dining experience. The food was absolutely delicious and the staff was very attentive. The restaurant Is well suited for large parties or for intimate dinners."

  • "The restaurant is located on the Biltmore estate so a diner must have a season pass or a ticket to the estate in order to dine there. A beautiful place to dine, but the food is expensive, the portions meager, and the dishes weren't outstanding in taste. My husband was still hungry when we left after we spent over $100 for the two of us. We did enjoy the ale and and wine; they were definitely the highlight of our dining experience at The Bistro on the Biltmore estate."

  • "Perfect restaurant in all aspects. Food was inspiring and delicious."

  • "This restaurant is located on the Biltmore Estate. Located in Antler Hill Village that while romantic in tone on one hand, the staff will seat young children with their parents perhaps right next to you. If a couple is looking for some quite time after a romantic day in the gardens at Biltmore, there are other places to dine on the Estate. So next time you dine on the Estate, remember to take your kids by the Bistro."

  • "Enjoyed a birthday dinner at the Bistro. Appetizers were limited, but the list of entrees was good. The grilled steak and pork chop were very good and the vegetables accompanying them were excellent. The wine list is somewhat limited because most wines have a NC connection, though some grapes are shipped in. The waiter was knowledgeable and friendly. It was surprisingly quiet on a Sunday night."

  • "Our first time at Bistro, will NOT be the last. All four enjoyed dinner! A bit high priced for Johnnie Black, but hey, it is at the BILTMORE? Food was quite tasty and enjoyable. Server Sharon was very good. We will be back ..."

  • "My husband and I went to the Bistro to celebrate my birthday. The food was outstanding and the service was delightful. From the cheese board as an appetizer, to dinner, and dessert, it was truly a memorable meal. I highly recommend the Bistro for any occasion."

  • "Host was very accommodating in offering us a secluded "date night" table. Server was friendly and attentive. Food was great and fair to the pricing. I was surprised by how early they closed on a Saturday night (8 PM) but no complaints."

  • "The food is upscale and delicious. The atmosphere is wonderful."

  • "Asheville is a great place to dine so having an expensive less that excellent meal was a disappointment. An incredible estate deserves an incredible restaurant and the Bistro is not it."

  • "One of my favorite restaurants at Biltmore! On my most recent visit I had the veal special and it was absolutely to die for. The meal always starts with a selection of breads baked in house and the rosemary foccacia dipped in olive oil and basalmic is one of the best breads I have ever had. The service was exceptional as always and being located directly across from the winery doesn't hurt either. The Bistro offers a great selection for visitors to the estate!"

  • "The Bistro is a wonderful place to dine anytime. For special occasions such as Valentine's Day, when all the restaurants in Asheville are extremely crowded, having a place to go that has a limited client base is especially nice."

  • "We have been to The Bistro many times alone and with friends. We have had our usual outstanding dining experience."

  • "It is a touch pricey, but it is on The Estate and most things are. It is very clean and the staff is always professional. The menu is small but they are always willing to accommodate your special request. I think lunch is a much better value and a great place to kill an afternoon with a bottle of wine visiting with other annual pass holder friends. A bonus....Shopping is great fun in the adjacent Antler Hill Village."

  • "Such a beautiful restaurant. Came to Biltmore with my boyfriend for out 1 year anniversary, and the Bistro was the perfect spot for dinner that evening. Everything was delicious and I can't wait to come back!"

  • "The restaurant was furnished nicely with a good atmosphere. The night we dined there were very few diners maybe because it was a winter evening in January on a Sunday. The food was good but the main criticism was we thought the meals were a little overpriced. They also charged me double for a drink because I asked for some liquior in my coffee. The service was a little slow for only a handful of diners at the time."

  • "We had a group of 5, and the menu was expansive enough to offer plenty of variety for all. Great service and food was very good."

  • "My friend and I went to the Biltmore house for Candlelight Christmas and decided on The Bistro for dinner after our walk through the house. I had the trout and she had the chicken. The flavor of the dishes were great, very bold & tasty. The portion sizes, however, were much smaller than we expected given the prices of the dishes. Then again, we were dining on the Biltmore Estate, so everything is pricey. I'd say this is a great place to eat for lunch if you don't want to leave the estate. Otherwise, for the price of the food, you could've eaten elsewhere in Asheville nearby and had larger portions & probably better food."

  • "beautiful slightly rustic decor, friendly staff, small menu with wide variety of proteins including one vegetarian. We had duck breast and lamb. Lamb was excellent, correctly cooked, well seasoned. Lamb was produced on Biltmore Estate and was a special not listed on menu. Duck was on the menu, also well cooked, lightly seasoned. Savoy cabbage under duck was delicious with touch of crispness. Chickpea fritters a little bland. French onion soup made in traditional method, delicious. We would have liked it hotter as it was extremely cold outside and we felt chilled upon arrival. Small selection of deserts but one we tried was unique and very good."

  • "The food was a bit pricey, but that was somewhat expected. The wine pricing was ridiculous, sometimes being almost twice as much as the price at the wine shop. The service was adequate, but not as attentive as I would have expected at a quality restaurant."

  • "Excellent! We came here for dinner. Not a busy night at all. I had the Pumpkin Cannelloni, and my wife had the scallop dish. The server seemed a little awkward, but the food was very good. The Almond Fried Brie is good as well. A little expensive. Bread basket is good as well."

  • "We had a dreadful time. The food was less than adequate and the service was terrible. Our daughter wasn't feeling well and we asked the server to bring us some peeled carrots. That took a good 30 minutes. We had also asked for something bland like rice or pasta with no sauce. The server said she would ask the kitchen and reported that they would prepare something special for her; this never arrived!! We couldn't wait to get out!"
