Diner Reviews
  • "My son and daughter-in-law had their rehearsal dinner here in 2001. We had returned a few times since, but not for several years. We have now moved about five miles away from The Bistro and felt it would be fun to revisit it with all our kids for my birthday. After mentioning this to neighbors, we were warned that it had changed hands and was expensive. We went anyway and couldn't have been happier. The food was great, the ambience as we remembered and the prices were not unreasonable. In fact, several of us got a 3 course fixed price meal (appetizer, entrée and dessert) for under $30.00 with several options in each category. We will certainly be going back!"

  • "We have been to the Bistro on numerous occasions and this time it was disappointing. Our server was not attentive and our dinner took almost 3 hours. Perhaps they need additional servers."

  • "The food was amazing. The decorations were warm and inviting. The wine was exquisite. Everything added to our experience from the staff to the live piano. I couldn't have imagined a better way to spend the night after my wedding, then at this lovely gem."

  • "Our dinner was very good. We enjoyed all our dishes. Service was adequate at best. The front room we were in needed a good cleaning, as it had cobwebs on the walls, dirt and dead moths on the heater and floor, which my wife found to be gross."

  • "The food presentation was lovely and flavors fantastic. We especially loved the yellow tail tuna. The scallops had a metal flavor so we didn't eat them. The Cuvaison wine was delicious. Our server was attentive and very pleasant."

  • "The food was absolutely wonderful and delicious. It was a fun location, a destination coming from Denver. Beautiful surroundings and beautiful drive up - we took Turkey Creek. The hostest was friendly but our waiter was terrible. He forgot to bring everything we asked; he was slow; he wasn't friendly; he didn't come back to ask how our food was; he didn't bring bread; he never smiled. Had it not been for him, it would have been a perfect experience. We'll go back, but I'm certainly hoping we get a different waiter!"

  • "We have been going here for years. First time we were a little shocked by the bill. The special entree was $45.00, which for buffalo, mashed potatoes and veggies seemed very high. They should list the price of the specials. Never had an issue with price before. We are used to fine dining prices. I usually order the fish, but noticed it was $36.00 which also seemed very high for halibut. Will likely go less often if prices stay that high."

  • "Just a wonderful experience with great service. They have a 3 course menu for $30. Had black mussels and tiger prawns that were amazing appetizers. The veal chop was outstanding. KC our server so so helpful and friendly. Dessert of flour less chocolate torte and sea salt caramel ice cream was amazing..can't go wrong with this place."

  • "Just outside Evergreen, CO the Bistro was perfect for our first anniversary dinner. We rented a cabin in Evergreen and enjoyed the small mountain town and the beautiful surrounding area. The Bistro was an unexpected gem near such a small town. The food was incredible as was the price. My wife and I got the 3-course dinner. Every part of it was delicious, especially the duck I got. Every employee we met was very kind and helpful. We had a great overall experience! "

  • "The view was spectacular from our corner table, out over a meadow. The food was great and the bottle of wine we had was excellent. The service wasn't great - he was gone for long periods of time, it took about 20 minutes to get that bottle of wine, and he forgot to bring out the bread until just before our meal showed. Overall a good dining experience though."

  • "The Bistro At Marshdale is truly a hidden gem that we recently discovered after moving to Evergreen. The food is excellent and the wine and spirits selection is very good for a small establishment. It's not inexpensive, but their $29 per person three course special is a very good deal. Even the regular price menu is clearly a very good value for the quality of the dining experience. The pianist playing during our Saturday evening dinner was a very nice touch. We'll definitely come here on special occasions."

  • "We took friends from Texas to The Bistro at Marshdale this weekend. Your amazing restaurant is THE place we take our out-of-state friends and guests to impress them and show them a great Colorado restaurant. We drove there from Highway 285 and Turkey Creek road, and saw elk and deer and buffalo. We drove back through the quaint historic town of Evergreen. Your fireplace was roaring and cozy. We started with the Buffalo meatballs--always delicious."

  • "My husband and I went for our anniversary. We had a wonderful time. I had the mussels and mahi mahi, which were both fantastic. My husband had the brussel sprouts salad, which was amazing. He had the duck, but didn't like it too much. I think that was more because he didn't like duck as much as he thought, however. He had the tiramasu and I had the cheesecake for dessert. Both were lovely. The Bistro accommodated my request to sit by the fireplace because it was our anniversary. They also had rose petals on the table and gave us a little gift at the end. Very lovely experience. We'll definitely be going back. Happy to find another lovely, romantic, special occasion place in our hometown Evergreen!"
