The Bistro @ Hotel Sorella CityCentreHip spot with great foodIt was quiet when we arrived and never got overly busy. The food was DELICIOUS and so was the presentation. I'm not sure if the service was just a tad slow or if the server was just being overly polite. There were 5 in our party and we were all busy talking to each other, catching up, so I'd like to think she just sensed that we needed more time to decide and visit. That's the ONLY reason the service got a 4 star. It's a very modern but comfortable interior. Much like a South Beach location. I would definitely go again and recommend to friends and family. There is also free, multi story parking right next door. I did not review the wine list. The bar downstairs was closed but I would assume it would be very vibrant when open.6/7/2013 12:00:00 AMBrunchOur brunch was excellent. Loved the Croque Madame! Service was attentive, but one item did not come until we were finished with our entree. Live music was nice. I will return and recommend this restaurant to friends.6/2/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food and service. WeGreat food and service. We loved it for our anniversary!6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMWhat a great findI was looking for a location for a business dinner and this place is wonderful for personal or business.5/29/2013 12:00:00 AMGood Food!Surprised to find out that Alex Brennan was no longer affiliated with this restaurant named after him......a little weary that the hotel now owns & operates it. However, very delighted with our dinner & service. Considering how busy this place was on Saturday night, the service was quick. The drinks were delivered fast even though we were told it may take more time since the mixed drinks are served from down stairs but our waiter was great! The food was yummy, loved the beet salad & the fried oysters! All in all, a great evening.5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMWe hadn't been here in a while,We hadn't been here in a while, as we had been trying other restaurants, but it was nice to rediscover Bistro Alex. Great service and excellent food.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMGood food and good ambiance.Good food and good ambiance. Service a little uneven but tolerable. Prices typical for type of restaurant.4/22/2013 12:00:00 AMWaiter was great. He wasWaiter was great. He was very personable and let us know history of restaurant and recommended best entrees for different times of day. Also, the music was fantastic. Not sure of her name but she was incredible. Should keep her not only at brunch but evening time as well.4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMA perfectly romantic spotWhen you book, ask to be served by "Elena." Rarely do you find a person who can be both attentive AND unintrusive. We started with salads, opened a bottle of wine, then enjoyed the Sashimi grade Tuna and NY Strip entrees- all of the courses were delicious. But it was the service that set the experience apart from most others. The romantic evening had the perfect feel because Elena would pass by to be sure we were never wanting for anything, but she didn't feel compelled to interrupt to ask "is there anything you need?" -- she just knew...and so we were left to experience what felt like a very private dinner.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMI had a business meeting andI had a business meeting and the meeting went well. Great food, great service and not too loud.4/9/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent all around experience.Excellent all around experience. Jesus our waiter was excellent; perfect balance between attentiveness and privacy. We were celebrating Easter Sunday as a family of 6 and our experience was outstanding.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMSunday jazz brunchSpent our Easter meal here,,,,love the turtle soup, seafood bisque and fluffy eggwhite omelet. The pomegranate cheesecake was Devine! Love the live music...jazz. Singer was super3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMOverall my group of eightOverall my group of eight really enjoyed our evening at Bistro Alex. The cocktails were great, we loved the cheese and meat plates for appetizers, and all of our entrees were good although seemed a bit expensive for what you get ($28 for three scallops on a handful of risotto, really?). The seafood bisque was amazing! The wine was very overpriced ($15 per glass). So, I am sure we will be back again, but not very often. I must say, the setting is absolutely beautiful!3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMUsed a Groupon, but they stillUsed a Groupon, but they still treated us as if we were paying full price. We had the 5 tomato salad, filet mignon, and white chocolate bread pudding. Everything was simply delicious! Service was excellent. I would highly recommend this place. Great bar/club next door too!3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMThis was our first time atThis was our first time at Bistro Alex and we LOVED IT! Everything we had tasted great, and the waiter was helpfull when we had questions. We will be back for our next special occasion.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMOur Entrees were very goodOur Entrees were very good and cooked to requested temperatures. The service was great, restaurant had a few technical issues with soda machine and tea but the waiter was fast and professional correcting any issue right away and making compensation for them without even being asked, which is unusual for most places. Will definitely go again, nice for a romantic dinner. Rolls are excellent also.3/15/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat for a Romantic dinnerShrimp and grits were yummy. Steaks were cooked perfect and very favorful.3/14/2013 12:00:00 AMWe've always had great goodWe've always had great good at Bistro Alex and both of our lunch entrees (mahi mahi and crab ravigote) were excellent. The only disappointment with our meal was that the original dinner rolls brought out tasted as though they had been left over from the day before. We told our server about this and later in our meal did receive fresh from the oven rolls that were delicious. We're not sure what caused the first mishap but they would be better off telling people that the rolls are baking rather than serving something that isn't worth eating. This is still one of our favorite places to have a leisurely lunch. If you're looking for a quick bite, you should go somewhere else. Atmosphere is quiet and conducive to a pleasant conversation2/22/2013 12:00:00 AM
