The Bistro at Gervasi VineyardGreat Place for Wine and FoodThis is one of the best places around to get a great selection of wine and delicious food. If you eat inside it is much more expensive but you have a more extensive menu. Their outside patio is great for affordable food and family dining (including kids) and their views of the pond are awesome. They also have corn-hole and bocci ball courts which is great for entertaining family and friends before or after your meal. Our dinning experience has just been the best we ever had both times that we have been there. This last visit we went to Gervasi for our anniversary. Once dinner was complete and the table was cleared the waitress brought out a plate of two small desserts and on the plate they had in chocolate " Happy Anniversary." We had a small cup each of vanilla bean ice cream with white chocolate cherries on top. It was just a wonderful for the Gervasi to do. What a beautiful restaurant and the grounds are gorgeous! Our meal was terrific - delicious and just the right amount of food. We began our evening by enjoying a glass of wine and the not-to-be missed feta cheese spread appetizer and crisp flatbread on the piazza. The live acoustic guitarist provided the perfect musical ambience to the lake setting. We chose a swordfish entrée that was grilled to perfection, and spectacularly seared scallops on a roasted red pepper sauce. We had no business ordering dessert, but couldn't resist the brownie with caramel and sea salt, served with gelato. Just the right balance of "sweet and salt."

The food is wonderful, the service is phenomenal, and they have a great selection of wine made right there at the vineyard. The Bistro has a great ambiance to it and it's fun to just take a look around inside. Afterwards, it's nice to take a walk around the pond, explore the vineyards, or enjoy some fresh air on the patio and take in the beautiful view of the surrounding area. Finally, they have a market where you can take home as much of their fabulous wine as you please. The Vineyard actually reminds me of a place I went to in Italy years ago . The wait staff were very efficient and pleasant. The atmosphere is comfortable no matter where you are seated. This time we were a last minute reservation and were seated at the bottom of the stairs where there are only two tables. Since it was our 36th Anniversary, I actually found it romantic. The waiters are attentive and fast. The food is wonderful. The whole evening was relaxing. Then come to find out our friends were already here and seated at the table we were told wasn't ready yet. No one came to find us. The market shop has interesting items for sale. The wines are very good and well priced. Would recommend Gervasi even for the most discerning person.

(Always a good sign when reservations are full a week out). We decided to make the 125 mile drive for a late Saturday lunch. We are soooo glad we did. We have found another great place to enjoy on a lazy Saturday afternoon. Food was terrific. We both had the filet. Honestly you could easily cut the meat with a fork. The salad was great, service was great and the atmosphere is very cozy.
After lunch we wondered around the grounds. They have a beautiful pond and a huge outdoor eating area. You can get a nice glass of wine walk around and enjoy the wonderful scenery.

The food was very good but the portion for my dinner with scallops and shrimp with rice and peas was pretty small for the price. My favorite was actually the salad with fruit, almonds, feta cheese and balsamic dressing, excellent combination of flavors. Fav. wine was Zin Zin. I would prefer the main level and would make reservations for that level next time now that I know how the restaurant is set up.
