Diner Reviews
  • "We loved the ambience and the fact that it was quiet! We came for some good old-fashioned Polish cuisine, and weren't disappointed. The pierogies were as good as my mother's and the latkes were delicious! We also had an excellent Bulgarian red wine. I especially liked the layout of the Belvedere--areas sectioned off to give the feel of being in someone's home. Overall, a most enjoyable experience. I'll certainly return the next time I'm in Denver!"

  • "My husband and I were looking for some place new to go for dinner. The Belvedere came up with 4 stars and great comments. We've had German food before so thought, why not Polish food! To our surprise, the location used to house Cafe Berlin! The service was awesome. She took the time to answer our questions and make recommendations. The perogies were delicious and the Polish vodka was ever so smooth! We highly recommend it and will no doubt return."

  • "Well, Czech, but my husband & friends are Polish. This restaurant offers some wonderful old world choices. The staff is wonderful and we always enjoy eating here."

  • "food was wonderful and wait staff superb -- having never had much Polish/Eastern European food, both my wife and I were thoroughly delighted & impressed"

  • "The Belvedere is a small, cozy place, lots of charm and romance, and for our party of 5 we were escorted onto the balcony overlooking the main seating area of the restaurant. It was great to have a semi-private space, but it was located on the path to the bathrooms, so not quite as private as would have been desirable. Food was excellent, and staff was attentive but did not hover. Portions were hearty - we ended up taking home a fair amount of the sampler. The pierogi were well done and tasty. Would not hesitate to return, just for dinner and to explore more of the items on the menu. Our birthday boy is adventurous and chose the dill pickle soup - it was DELICIOUS!"

  • "Our party of 12 was very well taken care of on a Saturday night. The food was top shelf, our server was appropriately attentive and very educated with regard to the menu. We ate, we drank, we laughed throughout the night in a very warm comfortable environment. I will not hesitate to return to The Belvedere."

  • "Great food and large portions. If you have any Eastern European heritage or interest, you must go to Belvedere! The sampler platter is a must have - and is good for a meal for 2/3 people!"

  • "Excellent Eastern European food; not for a light or low calorie meal but an excellent choice for a special occasion or new ethnic food experience. Service was friendly & attentive with good recommendations, not at all intrusive."

  • "Had a lovely Valentine's Dinner while attending a conference in Denver with my sweetheart! Ambiance was great. Proximity to downtown conference facilities perfect."

  • "The galubki was quite good, and the schnitzel was much better than average. Coming from a Polish family, food was never haute cuisine, but it was tasty, cooked well and always filling -- much like this place, so it felt a bit like home. I did especially like their leszco, a wonderful stew with a really tasty sausage in it. This is definitely a place to go back to -- pretty good food, decent service, and mostly regular folks, instead of all the goofy trendy hipsters and the fad of the day."

  • "I loved the romantic candlelit atmosphere - very warm neutral tones. Food was good, but not spectacular considering the prices. Wines were $29-$38 a bottle. Overall not too bad, but I will probably not go back due to poor customer service."

  • "Always enjoy coming here, and we've been here several times now with all good meals. We haven't explored the drinks much, but the food is very good and it's worth a trip over here."

  • "We used a Groupon for dinner and really enjoyed our experience. Our family of 3 ordered the Taste of Belvedere which came with an app and soup/salad. Lots of food, perfect for 2 adults and a child/teen. The schnitzel was outstanding, wish there would have been more of it instead of the sausage. The Pirogies were also very good. The ambience was nice. The old European decor reminded me of great little German gasthauses. The service was outstanding. Quick and very helpful with the menu. Overall very good food and a neat little place if you want to get a taste of Europe."

  • "I love Polish food (so much so that I named my dogs after Polish foods), and Belvedere does it well. The soups are fantastic. The pierogi are terrific. The cutlet is great. The goulash is also a standout. If you drink, get the warm vodka and apple juice to end your meal."

  • "Stopped by for dinner before a Mammoth game on Saturday night. Parked out front at inexpensive meter parking on the street. It's a little dark inside, but the service was good, the Polish imported beers were fine, and the food was good, and well presented. I wouldn't necessarily know authentic Polish food, to know if it was typical. The two of us; had the golubki (cabbage rolls), pelmeni (pasta wrapped dumplings), and the beef goulash with potato pancake, family style. I'd go back again, if only to try the other menu items!"

  • "I had heard about the Belvedere Restaurant and went with some friends. I had already been to Kingas on Colfax which is another Polish restaurant by the same owners. The Balvedere seemed to have a very nice quite ambiance, great food and good service. The location down by the convention center is nice for anyone staying downtown for a convention. I recommend that anyone staying in that location to make certain they try it out."

  • "The restaurant was very tired. I was mid January and Thanksgiving and Christmas decor was still up. I had to go through 3 seats to find one that was to be trusted to sit on for dinner. We made our choices and one of the menu items was out and we were not told. I hate to make a decision and then have to change. Bad Start. Most of the food was under seasoned except the Rabbit it was delicious"

  • "We first tried this Polish restaurant for lunch and liked it. So, we came back for dinner and were equally impressed. The atmosphere reminds us of the small family owned restaurants of Central Europe. The food selection and quality was outstanding. We will be back."

  • "Disorganized, ridiculously slow service. Sat for over 10" w/o menus- hot up and got our own, then 5" later 2 different servers showed up w/ water. Food is just fair to good and portion sizes are moderate."

  • "We needed last-minute reservations for New Year's Eve. We were thrilled to find this restaurant, and it was better than we could imagine. We ordered the full tasting plate and a few entrees. The prices are moderate, the food was delicious and very filling, and the atmosphere was warm and cozy. I will be back - soon."

  • "The place is a bit over the top in terms of the decor but don't let that detract you, the food is really good! I grew up on Eastern European food and some if their dishes are as good as moms. I especially love the pierogies, delicious! The prices are reasonable as well."

  • "We randomly found this gem on OpenTable and decided to give it a try. We were so glad we did! This is an amazing Polish restaurant with the most incredible food! The Belvedere delivers on taste, portion, atmosphere, and service. Their flavored beer selection is awesome and tasty! Their perogies are phenomenal [get them with bacon on!] and the kielbasa and other meals our table ordered were mouth-watering. All around, this was a phenomenal experience and we'll definitely be back for more soon! The only minor downside is that the chairs at the tables felt pretty flimsy and we had to be careful how we sat on them because we were worried they might break. It's a little hard to sit precariously when your'e eating so much awesome food."

  • "At five on a Saturday we were alone. The decor was cute and appears to be Polish themed. We started with the crusted Brie and the chicken livers on toast. Both interesting, nicely presented and delicious. For dinner, we ordered and shared three entrees: 1. the pierogi sampler (3 instances of three varieties) and all were fresh and wonderful. 2. Golabki - the stuffed cabbage roll - with tomato sauce. Unlike many, this one was soft and flavorful. The sauce was particularly good. 3. Red kielbasa. Well cooked, juicy and flavorful. Overall, three excellent dishes. For sweets, we shared the Vienna creme and the sweet cheese-filled polish crepes. Both wonderful. Service was very attentive and accommodating. Highly recommended."

  • "Even though the restaurant was short staffed that evening, the waitress kept a smile on her face and worked extra hard to keep all the patrons happy. The food was amazing. We even tried the horseradish vodka, with pickles on the side, it was great"

  • "I've been here twice now and really enjoy the food. Kinga Lounge on Colfax is their sister, same menu. They serve good, fairly inexpensive Polish food. The pierogies are excellent, with good presentation. My rouladen was a bit grisly. Overall, I've enjoyed this restaurant."

  • "It is a healthy walk from The Belvedere to the DCPA. We made reservations for 5:30 and barely made it back for a 7:30 play. While the staff is friendly they are understaffed to cover the business. The young ladies were busy but unable to cover orders, drinks and food in a timely manner. Our food was delicious."

  • "Greek salad and side salads excellent. The entrees were good, but expensive. Did not like the meat perigees, but the others were outstanding. Food too pricey for what it is. One woman show, hostess, waitress, bar tender. She worked very hard and was very nice."
