A word from The Bee's Knees
Traditionally, tapas dishes have been associated with
Spanish cuisine. However at THE BEE"S KNEES, we take a global approach that encompasses various cultures and flavors from around the world. From Thai to Spanish, Cajun to Mediterranean and Japanese to French, we have selected a menu to please the palate.

Our many vegan, vegetarian, poultry and seafood dishes are accented by our extensive selection of
beer, wine, spirits, sake, coffee, and tea.

The name, The Bee's Knees, itself has it's own curious meaning. Taken from 1920's jazz influenced slang,
it refers to the "hip" or the "cool" thing such as "The Cat's Meow".

We encourage sharing!

  • "Menu isn't spectacular (wine list rates a 1), but it's fun, served on time, and there are some very good items. Stick to the beer (good selection) and enjoy the active after work gathering spot."

  • "We heard a lot of good things about this place, but te food was marginal. It wasn't bad, but it it wasn't all that good either. The waitstaff was great though, and the restaurant is kinda cool."

  • "The food is unique and delicious! Our waitress was very knowledgable and super patient with all our questions. The drink special for the night was sangria and it was very good! We'll definitely return."

  • "We enjoyed the food but it is a bit overpriced. I paid $15 for two scallops but I should have asked for the cost when it said "market price". I could have gone to Augustino's at the Marriott Convention Center and got their summer 3-coure special for $15! Otherwise, it is only worth checking out once. Fresh ingredients and organic selections does make this a nice dinning experience if you re not on a budget. To their credit, they have the most extensive wine list I have ever seen! Also, all the employees were super nice. However, we will skip the place when visiting in Augusta again."

  • "Nice service, and great original food. A little pricey, adding everything up. Not rushed and a good place to sit and talk over a meal."

  • "Decided not to dine outdoors (we did so on our previous visit) with lightening going on, but found that the inside was LOUD. It was very busy (festival going on downtown), but we were seated immediately. Our waiter was a bit distracted and didn't bring our drink order until after our first food selection turned up. Another person also apologized for that mistake. Enjoyed all of our selections, but the waiter was really fumbling around picking up the empty plates and dropped some dirty cutlery onto my hubby's shirt along with something else. Again apologies were proffered but geeze...! Don't want to fault the place for an employee having an off night, so we will be quite happy to go back if we have another opportunity :-)"

  • "My husband and I found BK when we first moved here and we go back for romantic date nights. We had some friends of ours visit from out of town this weekend and we took them there--they absolutely loved it! The wine list was amazing and their menu had something to satisfy everyone's taste. Great food, excellent wine, amazing atmosphere!"

  • "Made reservations, greeted by a wonderful hostess, served by a friendly and educated waiter (educated not only on the menu but also on the city as well), food was excellent, made with fresh ingredients, served in a reasonable amount of time."

  • "The pad Thai was fishy (it should NOT has fish sauce in it) and it looked like microwaved left overs. The others were bland except for the nachos which were good however, most chips are if you poor enough cheese on them. The service was also inept. He was obviously rushing us & visibly frustrated when we weren't ready to order. When he was trying to take our order, he'd recite the definition of carafe etc without being asked. Very odd and condescending; I've waited tables myself for 15 years."

  • "Service and food were wonderful. We had a little quiet corner for our first date. Will be back and will recommend others. My date was a vegetarian and I am not but there was a great selection for us both. Great food presentation, pleasing to the eye!"

  • "This was my first time eating at Bee's Knees. I am new to the area and heard about it from a friend. I found the f food delightfully good and setup unique. At first glance, you may find the setting arrangements to be scattered andisorganized, but when we were leaving I saw anot her room in the back. That would be perfect area for a group party or a date. Overall, I enjoyed my dining experiencexperience and would recommend to other. Plus the have a gluten free menu!!!!!"

  • "Eight ladies went to Bee Knees before a play. We had a nice table for eight. The food came in stages as it was ready. A couple ladies shared the others ate their own. Everyone was really pleased with the food and the service was excellent. No problem with individual checks. When I have been before we always shared everything that we ordered. The quesadilla that I had with spinach and black beans was outstanding."

  • "It was Mother's Day, we expected it to be crowded. I made reservations. We got moved around and I also discovered they never received my message about my mothers handicap and the need for a more accommodating table. The confusion did not make a relaxing lunch, but I will say that the restaurant tried to make it all right by buying our lunch. It was a gesture that absolutely got our attention. The food was very good. I will be back!"

  • "I have been to the Beeknee's for dinner and for their outstanding weekend brunch, and I have absolutely no complaints. This place is hip and interesting with great food options from safe to adventurous. I feel like they really nail down the Augusta downtown dining scene, and I would 100% recommend them to someone looking for a chic but comfortable place to munch on some great food. Plus the service was great - I never had to worry about an empty cup, and the servers were polite, helpful, and friendly!"

  • "Having lived overseas & visited tapas bars in Spain, we have been disappointed finding anything that remotely resembles the experience in the US. Still haven't found the list of sherry varieties to sip along with our choices, so this came close. Loved our choices. The cheese & olives plate came with honey & glazed walnuts. Honey & cheese is an awesome pairing! Slightly disappointed by the tuna sashimi, which was served with chopsticks but in a manner that was difficult to pick up--the flavors were great, tho. We dined outdoors since it was a nice evening, but the sidewalk view of a car wash & bizarre pottery is not terribly appealing. The fish sliders were larger than expected: most of the bun wasn't eaten. Need to try more next time :-)"

  • "The Bee's Knees is always good- we had the hummus (always great!) and the veggie eggroll and the Tortilla Espanola - which was perfect! Excellent food, great ambiance, the people are so nice and make everyone feel comfortable - my favorite place to eat!"

  • "So loud I could not hear my husband. Exposed flame on table with oil leaking out of can onto table. We waited 45 minutes for mixed drink. Pad Thai did not match description on menu and took one hour to receive. Not one person, wait staff or manager ever apologized for the awful experience. Manager was almost indignant when she asked me why I didn't like the Pad Thai of course after waiting an hour for the entree. I wish I had a positive comment, but unfortunately I do not."

  • "We tried this place on a quick vacation and loved it. We just ordered about half of the tapas menu and everything was great. If you are in Augusta, you have to give it a shot. Amazing drink menu as well."

  • "Great food and a truly amazing server. She made wonderful suggestions and was a delight!"

  • "I've been to several tapas restaurants in various cities. Hummus - very good. Cheese and olive plate - embarrassingly small and bad selection. Cucumber salad not shareable because of size. Coconut curry noodles with tofu - unedible. Seriously! All non vegan items seemed to be acceptable. For a place to meet good friends you haven't seen in years, embarrassing pick but nice to sit for a while to talk.... Our reservation was at 5:30 so no reason we should have had to wait 20 minutes for first item to hit the table."

  • "Eclectic atmosphere with a diverse menu and great drinks. I will say that the service is usually a little off - not bad, but rarely great. This place, however, is a really great spot - an unexpected find in the Augusta area."
