A word from The Bee's Knees
Traditionally, tapas dishes have been associated with
Spanish cuisine. However at THE BEE"S KNEES, we take a global approach that encompasses various cultures and flavors from around the world. From Thai to Spanish, Cajun to Mediterranean and Japanese to French, we have selected a menu to please the palate.

Our many vegan, vegetarian, poultry and seafood dishes are accented by our extensive selection of
beer, wine, spirits, sake, coffee, and tea.

The name, The Bee's Knees, itself has it's own curious meaning. Taken from 1920's jazz influenced slang,
it refers to the "hip" or the "cool" thing such as "The Cat's Meow".

We encourage sharing!

I was with a group of friends here for a nursing conference. We passed the resturant on our way in and decided to go there for dinner on Sat. We enjoyed it very much. All the food (tapas) were great. Great service!

This a neat little place in downtown Augusta. The food is great. I love tapas because you get to try a variety of things. The Avocado chop chop is so tasty and the Calamari was some of the best I've ever had. Our waitress was very friendly and took the time to tell us about the most popular items since we were from out of town and this was our first time. Hidden gem, definitely give it a try.

The food was ok. I tried the seaweed salad it was ok, then i tried the gaudo nacho cheese which was kinda good was crazy about the gouda cheese but my guest loved it. the main meal was stir fry with tofu and that was very good we both enjoyed the stir fry. i would try the restaurant again.

We were a group from out of state and were looking for a dining experience outside of the usual eating places (Olive Garden, Red Lobster). We were more than pleased with the menu choices as some from our group needed Gluten-Free options and there was such a variety that we all ordered different dishes and shared all across table. Wait staff was very attentive, answered any questions we had, food came rather quickly. I would highly recommend Bee's Knee's to anyone looking for a different eating experience. Making reservations on line through Open Table was a snap and we were seated immediately when all of our group had arrived.

New to the area, we chose Bee's Knees for the reviews on Open Table. Food was fantastic! We had the smoked gouda nachos with seafood (wonderful!) and the calamari (sauces were great, cooked perfectly) for our small plates. For our entree plate, we had the market fish which was a great grilled whitefish with okra, tomatoes and wonderful rosemary potatoes as a side. We each had two cocktails (my husband a specialty cocktail which was delicious, and I had a vodka martini and a glass of wine). All for under $85 w/ tip. Our server was very attentive. If I could give 4.5 stars I would...the only thing that brings it down a little is the outside area (a bit run-down; sign is kindof unattractive) and the parking situation, which is tricky.

We enjoyed the food but it is a bit overpriced. I paid $15 for two scallops but I should have asked for the cost when it said "market price". I could have gone to Augustino's at the Marriott Convention Center and got their summer 3-coure special for $15! Otherwise, it is only worth checking out once. Fresh ingredients and organic selections does make this a nice dinning experience if you re not on a budget. To their credit, they have the most extensive wine list I have ever seen! Also, all the employees were super nice. However, we will skip the place when visiting in Augusta again.

Decided not to dine outdoors (we did so on our previous visit) with lightening going on, but found that the inside was LOUD. It was very busy (festival going on downtown), but we were seated immediately. Our waiter was a bit distracted and didn't bring our drink order until after our first food selection turned up. Another person also apologized for that mistake. Enjoyed all of our selections, but the waiter was really fumbling around picking up the empty plates and dropped some dirty cutlery onto my hubby's shirt along with something else. Again apologies were proffered but geeze...! Don't want to fault the place for an employee having an off night, so we will be quite happy to go back if we have another opportunity :-)

The pad Thai was fishy (it should NOT has fish sauce in it) and it looked like microwaved left overs. The others were bland except for the nachos which were good however, most chips are if you poor enough cheese on them. The service was also inept. He was obviously rushing us & visibly frustrated when we weren't ready to order. When he was trying to take our order, he'd recite the definition of carafe etc without being asked. Very odd and condescending; I've waited tables myself for 15 years.

At first glance, you may find the setting arrangements to be scattered andisorganized, but when we were leaving I saw anot her room in the back. That would be perfect area for a group party or a date. Overall, I enjoyed my dining experiencexperience and would recommend to other. Plus the have a gluten free menu!!!!!

Eight ladies went to Bee Knees before a play. We had a nice table for eight. The food came in stages as it was ready. A couple ladies shared the others ate their own. Everyone was really pleased with the food and the service was excellent. No problem with individual checks. When I have been before we always shared everything that we ordered. The quesadilla that I had with spinach and black beans was outstanding.

It was Mother's Day, we expected it to be crowded. I made reservations. We got moved around and I also discovered they never received my message about my mothers handicap and the need for a more accommodating table. The confusion did not make a relaxing lunch, but I will say that the restaurant tried to make it all right by buying our lunch. It was a gesture that absolutely got our attention. The food was very good. I will be back!

I have been to the Beeknee's for dinner and for their outstanding weekend brunch, and I have absolutely no complaints. This place is hip and interesting with great food options from safe to adventurous. I feel like they really nail down the Augusta downtown dining scene, and I would 100% recommend them to someone looking for a chic but comfortable place to munch on some great food. Plus the service was great - I never had to worry about an empty cup, and the servers were polite, helpful, and friendly!
