A word from The Bee's Knees
Traditionally, tapas dishes have been associated with
Spanish cuisine. However at THE BEE"S KNEES, we take a global approach that encompasses various cultures and flavors from around the world. From Thai to Spanish, Cajun to Mediterranean and Japanese to French, we have selected a menu to please the palate.

Our many vegan, vegetarian, poultry and seafood dishes are accented by our extensive selection of
beer, wine, spirits, sake, coffee, and tea.

The name, The Bee's Knees, itself has it's own curious meaning. Taken from 1920's jazz influenced slang,
it refers to the "hip" or the "cool" thing such as "The Cat's Meow".

We encourage sharing!

My husband and I love going to Bees Knees. It's tapas, so we can try several different types of foods, though we usually end up ordering our favorites. We recently went for Sunday Brunch, and the food was fantastic! Unfortunately they can't serve alcohol until 12:30, but when they can they have a great list of cocktails and nightly drink specials.

We had to wait too long for our food. We received our checks before we received our food because the waitress thought we had already eatten. One person in our party, who ordered first, never received her food. The person that ordered scallops received her food cold, but the crab and artichok dip was amazing.

Nothing short of an incredible dinning experience. Made rsrvtns on Open Table for 5 @ 730, 11-8-14. Honored w/in 5 min on a Sat night. Bartenders helpful with extensive choices, martini and craft beers great. Server of only 5 months, Heather, knowledgeable, efficient, thorough, and happy to serve. Ambiance classic, sheek. Food ... superb! Mixed tapas with my folks, 8yr old son, and wifie. All were noticeably very, very fresh. Half were fully genius to the palette as well. Zerts were heavenly. Kudos to the female Mgr on duty, to the staff, and to minds behind the madness!

The Bee's Knees is a wonderful, vibrant neighborhood tapas restaurant in downtown Augusta. It features a nice selection and wide variety of tapas, a decent enough wine list, and attentive service. The food is prepared on site with an emphasis on healthy fish and vegetables. Service is quick, friendly, and helpful with selections. We sat at a small table by the window and enjoyed watching the passers-by. We left feeling full enough, but not overly so. It's a great little find, and we have already recommended it to friends who, like us, frequently pass through Augusta on our way to other destinations.

Stopped by for brunch with our cousin while visiting Augusta on a beautiful, sunny Sunday. The mimosa was served in a pretty glass, the sangria was very good. My husband enjoyed his craft beer selection. I ordered the special, huevos rancheros, and it was served lukewarm. The waitress brought me out a freshly cooked order very quickly and it was very hot! My friends both had the 3 egg omelet, which was good, but quite small. I know it is a tapas restaurant, but for brunch, they expected the omelet to be more filling. I would try the Bee's Knees again for dinner tapas and sangria. I really liked the atmosphere and the people!

I like the bees knees and go there regularly. However, this experience was just okay. The waiter spilled water all over me, soaking me, and the food took a long time to come to the table, but this experience doesn't negate the usual experience that I have here. The waiter was apologetic about the incident, which was appreciated. It seemed that he was extremely new at waiting tables because we had a second waiter come behind him several times to serve us as well. The food was not disappointing.

A very nice restaurant in downtown Augusta near hotels and the convention center. A casual atmosphere. Excellent food, primarily small plates and large plates. They have a good array of dishes, combining flavors and foods very well. We ate there twice and had excellent meals both times, one built around large plates and the other a variety of small plates. Service was also excellent.

We planned a party of five for two birthdays. We picked the restaurant because it consistently pleases and there is a good selection on the menu so that we are all able to choose dishes we like for sharing. The only down side was that there was a large party next to us with three small children. The noise level was quite noxious since the restaurant is a warehouse setting and noise really travels. Bee Knees is not a good dinner venue for casual family dining with young kids.

Food was awesome but the cleaning in what I'm guessing was the kitchen was very loud and interrupted our dining expirience. Overall I would recommend and go to the bees knees again!!

This a neat little place in downtown Augusta. The food is great. I love tapas because you get to try a variety of things. The Avocado chop chop is so tasty and the Calamari was some of the best I've ever had. Our waitress was very friendly and took the time to tell us about the most popular items since we were from out of town and this was our first time. Hidden gem, definitely give it a try.

We were a group from out of state and were looking for a dining experience outside of the usual eating places (Olive Garden, Red Lobster). We were more than pleased with the menu choices as some from our group needed Gluten-Free options and there was such a variety that we all ordered different dishes and shared all across table. Wait staff was very attentive, answered any questions we had, food came rather quickly. I would highly recommend Bee's Knee's to anyone looking for a different eating experience. Making reservations on line through Open Table was a snap and we were seated immediately when all of our group had arrived.

New to the area, we chose Bee's Knees for the reviews on Open Table. Food was fantastic! We had the smoked gouda nachos with seafood (wonderful!) and the calamari (sauces were great, cooked perfectly) for our small plates. For our entree plate, we had the market fish which was a great grilled whitefish with okra, tomatoes and wonderful rosemary potatoes as a side. We each had two cocktails (my husband a specialty cocktail which was delicious, and I had a vodka martini and a glass of wine). All for under $85 w/ tip. Our server was very attentive. If I could give 4.5 stars I would...the only thing that brings it down a little is the outside area (a bit run-down; sign is kindof unattractive) and the parking situation, which is tricky.

We enjoyed the food but it is a bit overpriced. I paid $15 for two scallops but I should have asked for the cost when it said "market price". I could have gone to Augustino's at the Marriott Convention Center and got their summer 3-coure special for $15! Otherwise, it is only worth checking out once. Fresh ingredients and organic selections does make this a nice dinning experience if you re not on a budget. To their credit, they have the most extensive wine list I have ever seen! Also, all the employees were super nice. However, we will skip the place when visiting in Augusta again.

Decided not to dine outdoors (we did so on our previous visit) with lightening going on, but found that the inside was LOUD. It was very busy (festival going on downtown), but we were seated immediately. Our waiter was a bit distracted and didn't bring our drink order until after our first food selection turned up. Another person also apologized for that mistake. Enjoyed all of our selections, but the waiter was really fumbling around picking up the empty plates and dropped some dirty cutlery onto my hubby's shirt along with something else. Again apologies were proffered but geeze...! Don't want to fault the place for an employee having an off night, so we will be quite happy to go back if we have another opportunity :-)
