It is a beautiful space, carved out of a vintage bank basement. The ambiance is warm and inviting, with cozy seating areas and a great bar. Our meal was a 10. Our party was 4 adults, enjoyed wine, appetizers, 4 entrees and the entire "side dish" menu. Every dish was excellent, including the doughnut holes for dessert. I highly encourage you to "break into" The Bedford and reward yourself with an outstanding dining or cocktail experience.5/7/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Spot, Reservations Needed!Made reservations for a much needed date night and was very pleased we did. When we left there was a line out the door. I think it's much easier to have dinner then stick around for late night drinks and mingling. I accidentally dropped my ID and debit card on the floor in the lounge area and it was still there on Monday. The manager responded to my message quickly when I inquired about it. The food is a bit pricey, but the atmosphere makes up for it. We tried the special app- a white bean and halibut brandade. It was awesome. My hubby had the skirt steak and I had the mushroom ragout with ricotta gnocchi. Totally delicious and lighter than I thought it would be. We had a lovely server and the atmosphere was perfect for nice conversation over our meal. This trip one in our party did have a complaint about his meal, the chicken was pretty dry, but the oysters, seasonal spring pea soup and great wine made up for it. We had a girls weekend in Chicago and the restaurant came highly recommended by a local. We were wowed. James provided some of the best service we had ever received, and we are all experienced diners. The punch bowl was refreshing and unique. I had the special, which, complements to the chef...knocked my socks off. The restaurant couldn't have had a cooler vibe. You will not be disappointed. From lounging and having cocktails and small plates in the bank vault, to dining on fabulous food...that's not all! The Bedford transforms in the evening, lively nightlife and great music make this place a must.
