Diner Reviews
  • "Great location for lunch due to the view. Music was a little loud and other diners had to ask that it be turned down. No issues with the food. Good options for those not wanting seafood."
    Dined on 8/25/2014
  • "WORST DINNER WE'VE HAD IN YEARS. I'VE BEEN GOING TO THIS RESTAURANT SINCE IT OPENED. AMBIENCE - SO NOISY, COULD NOT HAVE A DISCUSSION WITH MY TWO FRIENDS. UNBELIEVABLE AWFUL. FOOD WAS TERRIBLE FOR 2 OUT OF US 3. SERVER APOLOGETIC, BUT OF COURSE THAT DOES NOT IMPROVE DINNER. YOUR MENU HAS SOOO CHANGED TO MEDIUM OF THE ROAD. IT WILL BE A LONG TIME BEFORE I CONSIDER EVEN GOING BACK FOR A LUNCH."

  • "Food serving time was super late. We waited over 40min. It was so loud so we needed to shout when we talked to each other. Also I left my message that the dinner was for my husband and his twin brother's 50th birthday when I made the resavation on website but no one said "Happy birthday". I've never had the service like this - I've always had response of some kind at other restaurants if I taught them it's birthday dinner even booked on website. Very disappointed but the server was good. Thank you for that."

  • "I reserved through you. I received confirmation. When I arrived at the restaurant, my reservation was not there. I was just lucky to get a table on a Sat. eve. That was not a good start, when I had reserved in very good time!"
    Dined on 8/16/2014
  • "The restaurant is located on the beach in West Vancouver with beautiful views to Stanley Park & the Ocean. The food is very nice. Appetizer was delicious! Tuna Cones. My daughters Roasted Chicken was delicious so was my Sable Fish! Service was excellent! We sat outside in the patio. Definitely a great restaurant to dine!"

  • "Being a vegetarian there wasn't much option. I got the Beachhouse Salad which wasn't anything special except for the pecans. I also got the spicy carrot soup to start which wasn't very good. My husband got the 7oz steak with truffle fries. He said the fries were great but the steak was average. The steaks we buy from Meridian Meats are way better. I haven't tried all the food so I can't give a review on all the food just what we had but the location is what we came for. It was beautiful!"

  • "You will not be disappointed if you dine at the Beach House! The best view in West Vancouver. Reminds you of the Mediterranean! The chef is excellent thus the food is spectacular! The beat and pear salad with pecan encrusted chicken is wonderful! Can't go wrong here!"

  • "Even if the food was not outstanding - which it is! - this is one of my all time favorites. Wonderful spot for any occasion. We ate on the deck - great shade and comfort on one of the hottest days this year. Divine!"
    Dined on 8/11/2014
  • "This was our first time at the restaurant as well as in Vancouver and we were blown away by the food. However, the wait staff was not super prompt with checking in to see how are food was or with filling up our water - that was the only downfall or would be my recommendation to improve upon."
    Dined on 8/10/2014
  • "The restaurant does have a wonderful view but we were placed at far corner where it was a bit dark and with no view, especially for the person who sat with her back to the windows. The restaurant is a bit pub-like and dark. It needs brightening up - in my opinion. The food was very good and the service excellent"

  • "For summer dining on a patio, this restaurant cannot be beat! The view of the south shore is fantastic. The pier is amazing for photos of your group and the wildlife on land and sea."
    Dined on 8/7/2014
  • "The Beach House restaurant is a popular spot for lunch on the patio on a hot summer's day The cooling sea breezes encourage the appetite. a tasty luncheon and good wine and beer."

  • "We were able to savour good food and wine while watching the fireworks."

  • "Excellent food, excellent service, excellent venue/view"

  • "This one was first recommended by a friend and she and I had a great meal, but I'm reviewing the return trip on holiday with my guy. The view was still spectacular. The setting is ridiculously gorgeous, on the pier at Dundarave Village, with lush gardens or beaches in all directions. We started with gyoza, which had an odd aioli that I would have rather they omitted if I'd known it was coming. I had a very nice piece of chicken with an excellent flavourful skin on some mashed potato, with seasonal veg - nice comfort food. He had salmon with watermelon radish, peas, baby carrots. This dish stood out especially for the excellent wild neon colour combinations that showed some real thought in the presentation, and it also tasted good."

  • "Not impressed with the food and probably wont go again. Lots of snobbish people from the neighbourhood no doubt."
    Dined on 7/29/2014
  • "Excellent service and very tasty food and the location...the best!!"
    Dined on 7/29/2014
  • "The table was not set up for 5 people. Server seated us and then disappeared for 20 minutes. One of our group was sent to hunt down a server, any server. Then things started to improve. Orders were taken, food promptly arrived, we ate, we paid, we left. Food was average."
    Dined on 7/29/2014
  • "We had halibut fish and chips. $23 each. Yikes! We had a nice view once we asked to be moved otherwise I would have been staring at a wall. Hostess did not want to move us. It was a real hassle for her. Maybe she had her braces tightened that day. Our waitress was pleasant enough though. Food was delicious. Truffle fries was a nice treat. Drinks - well made and high quality. View - to die for. I would definitely go there at least once. Patio is not available for reservation so you will have to wait if you want to sit outside in the fishbowl. The patio is completely glassed in which is a nice wind barrier. There was a wait for the patio even there were empty tables so I am not sure what the reason behind that was. Overall it was a good meal."

  • "I was here about 6 months ago, and found the same things, medium quality, small portioned and overpriced food. It's like you're paying for the gondola ride at Grouse mountain to eat at the Observatory, but without the gondola ride (or the view)! They need to improve the quality of their food and their menu. There's plenty of other restaurants in Vancouver that want my custom, and they're going to get it. But not here, you've had your chance."
    Dined on 7/27/2014
  • "I had the Cioppino, which was quite disappointing. It consisted mostly of potatoes with a meagre amount of seafood. Not good! On the other hand, the fish in the fish and chips was both well done and reasonable in portion. The waiter was excellent as was the view on a beautiful evening."
    Dined on 7/26/2014
  • "Love this place! Great service, good food and fabulous views. Always a pleasure."
    Dined on 7/26/2014
  • "Great for entertaining out of town guests. Excellent service overall. Impressive view of the ocean."
    Dined on 7/25/2014
  • "Arguably, one of the best views for dinner anywhere. Go for an evening stroll on the sea wall, which is right there, to follow your dinning experience."
    Dined on 7/20/2014
  • "I found the restaurant ambience and service significantly changed from the fine dining experience which I had appreciated here on previous occasions. There was electronic house dance music being pumped from the bar, emanating through the restaurant throughout the hour-and-a-half we were there. It is one of the reasons we didn't stay and have dessert. It was too damn noisy. It was hard to hear my dinner partner. The service was very amateurish - spilling wine on the table, not picking up dirty plates. It was like being in a Keg. I take it The Beach House is no longer positioning itself as fine dining. I am unlikely to go there for dinner again. Certainly not when I'm looking for a special meal. It's a shame. It used to be lovely."

  • "I always forget about the Beach House and I wish I went more because the food is great. I had the steak frites and the steak was excellent. Very tender and had great flavour. I didn't expect many decent options for the non fish eater but the steak really surprised me. The restaurant had a beautiful view and an interesting mix of people. The only negative thing I'd say would be to cut out the 29 hostesses that stand at the front door and do nothing because it can be unsettling to try to check in with them all staring at you and looking bored."

  • "A perfect lunch with my sisters. Everyone's food was excellent. One of us deals with severe food allergies and they took it seriously and ensured her food was safe for her. We sat at a shaded table overlooking the water and the city and enjoyed a lovely visit in an ideal setting."
    Dined on 7/17/2014
  • "Been here before. Food is excellent. Service was great. Portions are small for what you pay. I guess that's to be expected. Overall a great night. We will dine here again."
    Dined on 7/16/2014
  • "Had a very pleasant lunch on the patio overlooking the beach. Food was very good and service as well."
    Dined on 7/16/2014
  • "As fairly regular customers, we recently dined there for a special occasion. How disappointed we were after all the years if wonderful service and food. The server was pleasant but very inexperienced and not knowledgeable. So many of the items we ordered were unavailable however we ordered and waited before finding this out. Starter salads came with a full table of entrees. One of the entrees was served cold, quite cold. A dinner salad was nothing like the description on the menu. No follow up from the server. All on all a very unsatisfactory experience."

  • "Great view, food quality questionable and needs improvement..."
    Dined on 7/12/2014
  • "We have eaten at The Beach House before but we noticed their table reservation policy has changed. Now you cannot request a specific table. This restaurant saves the big tables on the eastern wing of the building for large parties. Unfortunately, this is where I like to sit. Instead we were placed at a table on the lower level exactly where I don't want to dine. Would we go there again? No."
    Dined on 7/12/2014
  • "Enjoyed the excellent food, good menu with both lighter and substantial fare. My husband & I both enjoyed the experience and would return."
    Dined on 7/12/2014
  • "we were hosting an out of town guest who had never been to Vancouver and lucked out by being in our beautiful city during a stretch of marvellous sunny weather - after a hike in the mountains late in the day, we headed to the Beach House for a late dinner on the patio - the food was okay, the service was okay but the overall setting was remarkable - a great place to take in the view and finish a terrific day in Vancouver"
    Dined on 7/10/2014
  • "We had an out of town guest and it was the perfect place to go. Gorgeous sunset and then a beautiful walk after dinner."
    Dined on 7/10/2014
  • "I took my friend, visiting Vancouver, to lunch there. I have been there several times and have been happy every time. The food and the ambience was very good."
    Dined on 7/9/2014
  • "The halibut was nicely done but an insignificant portion size."
    Dined on 7/8/2014
  • "We used to patronize the Beach House when it used to be "Peppi's" (same gorgeous view, but very basic Italian cuisine, mainly a pasta/pizza situation...but at least it wasn't "all grease/fat" food, like it is today!). Then it changed ownership and they tried changing it into an "upscale" restaurant (BUT with your "usual suspects"/standard fare stuff on the menu, only pricier....). But things got worse: It has now turned into a "glorified fish and chips & steak and hamburger joint"! Grease and yawn! What a TOTAL WASTE of an OUT OF THIS WORLD location! HOW SAD!! Their only saving grace? The young staff is very welcoming, friendly, courteous and accommodating: bravo to the staff at The Beach House!"
