Diner Reviews
  • "The review is for dine LA week in July 2014, I made reservations for 2 at 630. We arrived about 15 minutes early and we were seated immediately. We ordered 3 orders of the DineLA menu just so we could try most of the things on the menu it came out to be 15 different item (including deserts). Everything was good I must say my favorites were the sauteed shrimp, squid with squid ink and crispy rice, also the Flan desert was awesome. My least favorite would be the mussels and the chicken croquette. We also ordered the sea urchin with coconut and lime foam which I thought was amazing. Overall this place is a nice spot if your looking for something fancy or trying to impress your date, Its not something I would go eat regularly."

  • "This was my 2nd visit to Bazaar and I must say even better then the 1st (who knew that was even possible)! The staff is attentive (one you get seated), the ambiance is so different and intriguing and the food is unbelievably whimsical on top of being delicious. An evening I'll never forget and one I'll be hoping to recreate often. My favorite dining experience in Los Angeles!"

  • "4 1/2 stars. We had a very nice dinner, we tried the Dine LA menu for the evening. It was our first experience doing tapas style for dinner. It was really interesting and sort of fun. We did pick some great options a couple that were just okay, those being the caesar salad and beef cheeks. The salad was kind of flavorless and not really a ceasar flavoring. The beef cheek were just good but expected a little more from that item. Favorites were the squid, could have definitely had more of that. Also we ordered an additional item, rabbit which was very very tasty and enjoyable. It was a fun dining experience and we are so glad we were able to sample the food here. We would like to return and try more of the tapas menu."

  • "This is a kind of restaurant you should try at least once in your life because of te food and wine selection, a bit pricy for the small plates but it's worth it.the only bad experience we had was our waiter who seemed very disinterested and never checked on us, funny thing is he checked other tables of those he thinks that he might get a bigger tip, which yeah,he made us feel we were poor even if we were dropping a $200 meal.nevertheless he was least of my problem cos I enjoyed the food."

  • "We absolutely loved the unique dishes. The Philly cheese steak was out of this world and the beef cheeks were my favorite. So tender and flavorful."

  • "We tried a sampling of tapas and had a wonderful meal. We especially enjoyed the Philly cheesesteak, the jicama wrapped guacamole, just shrimp cocktail, sautéed shrimp, jamon Serrano fermin, and traditional Spanish flan. Service was excellent. Our water glasses were refilled promptly. Dishes were taken away when we completed a course. Wait staff were friendly, warm, and welcoming. Oh yes, I also had a "Magic" Mojito which was very interesting....martini glass filled with a ball of cotton candy and the liquid was poured into the glass making the cotton candy disappear."

  • "No designate waiting area for dining table getting ready and the restaurant noise is way up high. I have to raise my voice for my needed. The foods are delicious. Love the decoration in every divide section of the restaurant!!!"

  • "Went to Bazaar for the DineLa event. The food was good and the scene was busy. Liked the decor and the energy. They have a special area for dessert/ Would go back again."

  • "i am amazed at the quality and value of The Bazaar. Since i visit here with Restaurant week 4-5 years ago, i have come back again and again for normal dining and Restaurant week. And beside the price, i cna't tell the difference between the quality of service. the service is slightly rush, but not out of control. i did ask the staff to slow down a little bit. the attention to detail is top notch and execution is mostly excellent. As to the food it is out of this world, i can't believe they can maintain the quality with the volume of people showing up to the place. i also enjoy the dessert session with the place. this is the best of LA."

  • "I took three colleagues and dear friends to The Bazaar to celebrate their birthdays. The food was exceptional -- far better than I remembered it being in the past. Unfortunately, it is a little hard to understand the servers when they bring the dishes but the service was otherwise excellent. I am sober so I ordered iced tea. I was a little disappointed to be charged by the glass. It seems a little extreme given that I went with drinkers who enjoyed fun but pricey cocktails. With those reservations in mind, dinner was great and my friends were delighted by the quality of the food. This is a great place for a special occasion or for out of town visitors. It is a great tribute to the evolution of Los Angeles as a destination for foodies."

  • "Amazing food. Amazing vibe. I'd recommend to anyone with discerning taste."

  • "Master piece in tapas dinning, may not sound all enticing, but wait till you taste the food. Two thumbs up on the service."

  • "Love this place, it's always my first choice. The Philly cheesesteak, jicama wrapped guacamole, sautéed shrimp, and manchego/walnut/apple salad are some of my faves."

  • "No matter how many times you go here, it never fails to deliver terrific surprises. The food, the decor, the energy are amazing!"

  • "Came in for the dine LA event. The menu and selections were enough to keep my date and I salivating for the next dish to be deliver to the table. The restaurant was busy as it is to be expected but the servers and the wait staff are all very polite and helpful. They work as a team and there is no "that is not my table" nonsense. Food is just a little salter then what I'm used to eating. Overall a very good experience."

  • "I do not recommend this one at all!! Food is overrated. The service was fair. I would not return to this restaurant."

  • "Bazaar is great for "small plates with great tastes""
    Dined on 7/15/2014
  • "Was a great experience, my only complaint is that our server, Precious(I think that's her name) was literally not attentive whatsoever."
    Dined on 7/15/2014
  • "Disappointed!!! The shrimp cocktail shrimp was not fresh; muscle was not even fresh and no taste at all. The mushroom risotto was too salty. Nothing special! I miss tapas in Spain. Not coming back!"
    Dined on 7/14/2014
  • "marginal quality, food was bland outside the chicken with mustard caviar dish, waitress unprofessional"

  • "Try your first time experience of molecular gastronomy here at the Bazaar by Jose Andres and you will want to come by again and again. Love it!"
    Dined on 7/14/2014
  • "The transition to the dessert area was slow and frustrating. Waited 45 min for a table which by the time we were seated, we all felt like leaving. Food is great but they need to work on making that hange over to another table flawless as it puts a glitch in the overall dining experience."
    Dined on 7/13/2014
  • "This was an extremely disappointing dining experience. Other than the waiter, who was very helpful getting us through the complicated menu, everything was pretty much awful. We were greeted with snobby, "you're not worthy" attitude at the door. The room is too big, the tables too small the seating uncomfortable. The food and drinks are gimmicky and very expensive. The restaurant incorporates the worst plastic stereotypes one might have of LA and should more properly be named, Bizarre."
    Dined on 7/13/2014
  • "It's all about the show. Underwhelming and overpriced."
    Dined on 7/12/2014
  • "We ordered 10 different plates and LOVED every single one of them. They were very small portions, but it was perfect because you got to try everything, feel satisfied, and not too full to enjoy the rest of the night!"

  • "The rooms of The Bazaar are collectively an evening's entertainment. The food is creatively conceived and presented, but the tastes and textures were unsatisfying."
    Dined on 7/10/2014
  • "I loved this place! Beautiful decor and fantastic food! All of the food we had was prepared in a very unique way! Small portions but so tasty! All of the servers will give you recommendations which were right on! Loved that after dinner if you wanted after dinner drinks or dessert they would move you to the dessert bar without having to close out your check! Tried four different desserts and all four were unbelievable! The chocolate martini with marshmallow could have been a dessert as well!"

  • "We had heard from many friends how excellent The Bazaar was and we were not disappointed. Both my wife and I really loved everything - on both the traditional as well as the Modern Tapas menu. The interior design of the space fits beautifully with the food. Everything is very comfortable. After dinner we retired to the dessert area and had some spectacular chocolates and a grapefruit with honey and olive oil ice cream. It was amazing."

  • "One of my favorite restaurants in the country. I've been here at least 6 times, and have been to the sister restaurant in Miami twice. I still prefer the Bazaar in Beverly Hills. Be creative with your menu selection! There are no disappointments on the menu!!"

  • "Unusual Tapas menu, great selection. Sangria is absolutely outstanding, with fresh strawberries and oranges. Would recommend as special occasion dinning only,"

  • "The creativity and simplicity will blow your mind and your taste buds."

  • "My first time at Bazaar was amazing. My friend and I split 5 different veggie plates; we each had our own meat plate and finished with hot chocolate mousse for dessert (Highly recommend!!) I read a lot of reviews before we went, and I learned one thing... make sure you balance your order with things that will fill you up, IE Cauliflower Couscous. I didnt find the food too salty, again it depends on what you are ordering. The staff was GREAT and very attentive. The ambience is really fun and different. We sat at a table looking at the chefs in the kitchen, which was fascinating to watch them create these lovely plates. I want to go to the SAAM room for my birthday (21 course meal for $150 per person). Expensive, but worth it!"

  • "Unique delicious food. On the expensive side for small portion plates but for special occasions or you are on vacation, it is a must do. The ambiance is unique also."
    Dined on 7/3/2014
  • "Top notch. We were there for my birthday (70th), and it was one of the finest restaurant experiences in all those years. And we have had many of them."
    Dined on 7/3/2014
  • "It might sound odd at first to be told that the recommended order amount is 3-4 plates per person. It turns out that turns out to be the correct goal because every bite of every dish is as delightful to the eye as it is to the palette! The Bazaar menu is both delightful to vegetarians and traditional diners. It's impossible to describe the unique menu items and the attention to details the able staff accomplishes with the presentation. The Bazaar is a restaurant to run to as soon as you can so you can create a reason to return."

  • "Great restaurant to try several different tapas with friends. Suggest you leave it up to the waiter. ours really knew the menu and suggested great combinations."

  • "Had a great experience at Bazaar! I'm a total foodie and love trying new things!! Everything on the menu has it's own unique taste, filled with flavors! Tip: If you're on a budget, this isn't a place to come get "full" from dinner...it's more like drinks and great snacks!!!"
    Dined on 6/28/2014
  • "We enjoyed a nice evening at Bazaar. The portions were very small but most of the dishes were enjoyable. I would not go back unless somebody else was paying. I think this is a special occasion place and not in anyone's regular rotation."
    Dined on 6/26/2014
  • "I had not been to Bazaar for over a year and it remains one of the high points of dining in LA. It has lost some of its "hip" status which is fine because the food is still phenomenal and now just a bit easier to get a table."
    Dined on 6/24/2014
  • "Your senses will be on constant engagement. The staff were full of energy, the food was a diverse and exceptional journey, and the space was magnificent."
