The Bauer KitchenGreat food as usual.Very tasty Bauer Toasts for the starter. Tuna Nicoise was outstanding. A perfect blend of rare tuna and anchovy. The rare tuna was cooked just right lot of pink in the middle. It was the best fishy salad I had for a while.
Solo dinner at 9pm on a Wednesday night. The place was about 3/4 full and not very noisy. By the time I left at 10:45pm, it was about 1/3 full. The portion was enough for at least 4 people. If you don't like raw green onion and still want the pulled pork, make sure to ask them to skip it or to cook the onion. I personally like the bit of kick from the raw onion. If it is cooked, it should be very good in another way.
Service was great as usual. It was 9pm on Thursday night and it was fairly busy when I arrived. The group of 12 plus beside me were having a good time and it was the only reason I rated the noise level as moderate. However this time it was a bit slow. We arrived at 12 noon, and everything was fine, but it was lunch time and not as busy as I have seen it, but we did not get back to work until 1:30 and that is too long for lunch in a work environment.
We had appetizers on good timing but we had to wait at least 12 minutes after that to receive our lunch, honestly, too long.

Had their Cow Cheek Taco and Corned Cow Tongue Sandwich both were excellent. The Cow Sandwich has the greasy spoon great look but doesn't have the greasy spoon bad oily taste. The Holy Cow week only last one week which is a disappointment. Other items on the Holy Cow menu seem like worth a try too.
It was my 5th dinning in the last 2.5 months, and 16 days since my last visit. Kate (my usual server) has remember what I like to drink. She brought me the virgin ceasar without needing me to order it.

There is an extensive wine list with suggested pairings on the menu, with a few different size options, from a 3 oz. glass up to a bottle. Many in our group had the duck confit and loved it (even the kids). The salmon dish with lentils and grains was a well balanced combination in a reasonable portion size. The green salad was fresh and creative, very tasty. Our waiter was friendly, helpful, and able to make everyone feel welcome. We would definitely go back.1/4/2013 12:00:00 AM
