It was a lovely evening. The food was excellent and beautifully presented. The wait staff was attentive and friendly. We will certainly return very soon. I have heard from friends that they were once open for lunch and how they miss that feature. The highlight of my meal was the artichoke appetizer - I will order it again. Absolutely beautiful interior and the outdoor patio with the fire was a nice touch. After cocktails we were seated in the main dinning area, which we all found to be very retro (which is what we were looking for) and cozy. It has a warm "supper-club" atmosphere with a very talanted lounge singer covering all the Vegas favorites. Everyone of the staff members we met were gracious and nice.
For dinner my wife had an excellant fillet with a wine reduction sauce. Our waiter talked me into the special aged version of the bone-in rib eye steak taht while considerably more expensive was a treat that I should not mioss. I bought in, and saddly was not impressed with the cut, portion, prep, heat, presentation or taste. It was extremely chewy and charred. Never felt rushed and every course and drink were prepared perfectly...plus there is a hidden gem here....speak and listen to 95 year old Joe Vento in the hotel lobby...he is a true link to the Vegas past and should not be missed or ignored.....I will eat here again on my next visit to Las Vegas....the hotel it is in is not a huge Vegas place but it is not scary either....go and enjoy, Emeril and Mario Batali have great places, but take one meal to support a real local establishment, you will be happy when you leave!!5/2/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat spotVery cool place. We eloped to Vegas and chose The Barrymore for its decor and style and it didn't disappoint. The service was impeccable. Our waiter was really friendly and congratulated us on our marriage. The other diners were all really nice and offered to take photos for us. And the food was delicious. We had a starter and main with no room for dessert. We both ordered steak for the main. They left early, so it was just us in the entire restaurant for about 30 mins. By the time we left, the entire dining room was seated. We started out with the creamy, cheesy Lobster Mac & Cheese. Great lobster aroma as soon as the dish was brought to the table. Followed up with the Spring Lamb. The leg was slightly overcooked. I would've enjoyed having more of the lamb breast, which was tender and richly bathed in the sauce. Finally, despite my protests of being "too full," my sister ordered the Passion Fruit Creme Brulee. What a divine melange of tarte, creamy, and rich! Loved it. I would rate the food an 8 out of 10. The filet was a tiny bit salty but tasty. I think they specifically put some salt pebbles on top. There were several types of bread in the basket that were good but I'm still not sure if I liked the bacon-cherry bread combination. The wine selection was excellent. The main dining room was a little darker than normal but I was on a date so it was fine. The prices were comparable to others in town but the service was a slight step above. The food, service, everything was great!!! The room itself just blew me away, just reminds you of old Broadway, it had such ambiance... I would reconmend anyone go here. You won't be disappointed... Oh, and the music they had playing was just perfect. We took some friends with us and they said they had read about it and had been wanting to try it....And they were so glad that's where we went!!! I'm looking forward to going back and trying breakfast and lunch, and of course going back for dinner. We all had a wonderful evening. Prices are a bit cheaper than on the strip but the quality is no less. Service was prompt and friendly. Their signature cocktails were great and strong. The appetizers were innovative and delicious. Las Vegas fine dining and lovely. The people assisting the server were even so professional and beautifully mannered that all four of us commented on the excellent experience they provided. The only thing missing was music...oh there was recorded music, but if there were a singer during dinner, we all agreed that would put icing on the cake.

Wanted a romantic restaurant to spend my 25th wedding aniversery. Found it in spades, from start to finish everything was perfect. Service was excellent without being overbearing and the food was outstanding. Started with the Lobster Mac and a Caesar salad. Both were wonderful but the Mac and Cheese alone is worth the trip. The steak was seared on the outside and cooked perfectly to a medium rare. Side dish was grilled asparagus, it was tender and flavorful with a little bite to it. Finished the night with a molten chocolate cake and hazelnut gelato. I have been here numerous times and everytime the food is excellent and the service perfect. Ask for Kendra or Emily as your sever, you can't go wrong. The NY steak is cooked perfectly, tender and very tasty! Have some cocktails at the bar if Cody is working - excellent bartender - great drinks everytime. If you want a quiet evening for dinning, avoid Friday/Saturdays as they get very busy and sometimes have large parties. Can't beat their happy hour either. All in all - give it it a try and you find out yourself have good this palce is. Also they have a small patio for coctails. After looking at several locations, we found The Barrymore. After seeing all the "Excellent" reviews we decided to give it a try. We had booked a table for a Thursday evening and, I would assume, we were "early" by Vegas standards (6:00-6:15 pm). The dining room was classic steakhouse; lowly lit and embellished with old film reels on the ceiling and movie posters featuring Barrymore on the walls. Our server was attentive and suggested a wine within our price point which was excellent value for the dollar. The steaks were perfectly done and the creamed spinach we had as one accompaniment was delicious. So I was a bit stunned when we pulled up to the Royal Resorts with its dated exterior and lobby. Don't be deterred by the packaging! The Barrymore was everything we hoped. Intimate. Quiet. Knowledgeable staff (ask for Bill). Great food. My husband had the ribeye, and I had the shot rib bourginon. We shared a shrimp cocktail and mashed potatoes. All were excellent. The food is very good but pricey. It is a small boutique style restaurant the service is very good. You could come in just about any style of clothing and not feel out of place. (Although I would not recommend a tank top, shorts, and flip flops.) The steak was great, just expensive. Overall, I would recommend this restaurant for any special occasion.
