Diner Reviews
  • "We were celebrating a family birthday and I couldn't be happier with the food. Our server was a little flighty but the rest do the experience made up for that."

  • "The Barrymore reminds one of an era gone by - almost like it takes you back in time. The ambiance is wonderful with plush booths and old movie reels lining the ceiling. We had an early reservation so the place was very quiet when we arrived and stayed very romantic as more guests arrived. Service was good and the waiter was attentive. The lobster bisque is very nice and the wedge salad presentation unique. The braised short rib is melt-in-your-mouth and exceeded my expectations. My wife's fish was very good but the waiter's description of the fish was off the mark. I would definitely dine at the Barrymore again!"

  • "We visit Las vegas a few times a year and enjoy trying different restaurants. After viewing the menu for The Barrymore we had a sense that this would be a fine dinning experience. While having a coctail at the bar we met the chef and asked him to create a 5 course dinning experience. He was more than happy to oblige and prepared courses involving fois gras, sea bass and filet mignon. Our server Isreal was knowledgable of the ingredients and preparation of each dish. The wine list had interesting choices. We chose a red wine from Slovenia comparable to a quality Bordeaux. The dinning room is elegant and intimate allowing you to converse in a normal voice."

  • "I booked a table but had to wait more than half a hour to be seated. Tips 20% were added automatically. In my opinion restaurant overpriced. The food was good."

  • "The Barrymore is an off-strip find. Food is always excellent, wine is amazing, prices are very reasonable."

  • "This is a great find - we found this on Trip Advisor a couple of years back and now go there every time we come to Las Vegas - this time we went twice in four days and sat at the bar as well as in the restaurant - we live on Maui and so have great octopus and rarely eat it outside of Hawaii - we took a chance on their happy hour menu and WOW - as good as anything we have at home - in addition, Caesar Salad was outstanding and the steak cooked to perfection - the bartenders are very friendly and they have a lounge singer and small dance floor - this is vintage Las Vegas - a wonderful experience - I would recommend it highly - also, ask for Joe - he played with Sinatra, Martin, etc. - 93 and still going strong - great stories."

  • "Our shrimp tasted old and fishy and the steak was tough. Pork belly was good, Lobster Mac n Cheese was flavorless, undercooked and had no visible traces of lobster. The wait staff was very nice and attentive. They need to work on their food execution and maybe find a new meat supplier."

  • "We had a beautiful intimate dinner at Barrymore. The room layout allows for private dining and romantic atmosphere. The duck was superb. Service was outstanding. We didn't feel rushed & everyone was very accommodating."

  • "Eclectic decoration, great service, but the food was mediocre. The steak I had was well cooked but not very flavorful. The roast that my wife had was way overcooked to the point of disintegration. We had the lobster macaroni that everyone raved about and wouldn't have even known there was lobster in it except for the name. Overall we found it overpriced for the quality and taste of the food."

  • "Wanted to get away from the tourists on the strip, but did not want to take a taxi. Found this place and it was just what we needed. It was quaint, quiet had great food and really friendly service."

  • "My favorite place in vegas and I've tried em all. There is serious talent in the kitchen here. My fifth visit and consistently great. The duck is amazing, the foie gras sublime. While not cheap it's worth every penny and the servers are exceptionally good. Win win win, must visit"

  • "Our experience at your restaurant on February 28th still puts a smile on our face when we talk about it with family & friends. Jesus was an outstanding server and made it such a memorable experience. We cannot wait to return in the next few months and be wowed again!! Great job Barrymore, we have found our new favorite spot in a city with endless dining options. Attention to detail goes a very long way and you guys have it perfected! Thanks again for a birthday I'll never forget. ~Breanna Lambert"

  • "We have been to the Barrymore several times and we have never been disappointed. We have brought our family and friends to enjoy the experience as well. We will continue to come back as it's become our favorite spot to really sit back and savor the dining experience."

  • "As a 30+ year local, few venues surprise me as this one had. The Barrymore is easy to find and centrally located off the strip. The restaurant has a smaller dining room, quite romantic and cozy, with a lot of the bygone Las Vegas charm in decor. The service was outstanding, even with a large wedding party occupying central location. Food quality was exquisite, with something for all palates. We look forward to returning soon!"

  • "Another great meal! We started at the bar with the best Old Fashion in town and a few of the happy hour appetizers - crispy pork bellies so good! We then dined in the main dining room. My steak was cooked perfectly and the creamed spinach was very good as well. If you can, request Kendra or Emily as a server. Also, stop by the bar to see Cody - great drinks! It was too windy to enjoy the patio - but when the weather is nice, perfect place to meet with friends and drinks! You can dine on the patio too! A true hidden gem in Las Vegas and if you haven't tried it out you should!"

  • "The service was immaculate. With a wine list featuring only prices under $50 and a knowledgeable sommelier, it was fantastic to get such a good bargain on a wine that was similar to one of my favorites. A couple classic cocktails from the bar added a lovely note to my night. The decor and ambience are stunning. The food was top-notch, except for the ribeye, which I would give a confident 6.5/10 - the texture and aging were up to par, but somehow the taste was just flat. I was delighted with the meal overall and am eager to go back."

  • "Great steaks, seafood, apps, drinks, service...Spent 9 nights in Vegas eating at all well reviewed restaurants each night, this one was definitely the best, highly recommend!!"

  • "Our first experience dining here was to celebrate my mom's 80th birthday, and the Barrymore made the celebration truly memorable. The food was superb, especially the house special Delmonico steak and the atmosphere was perfect. A throwback to the golden "Rat Pack" era of Las Vegas, which my mother just loves. The service was exceptional, and our waiter was extremely helpful in making recommendations. He also made sure to point out which appetizers and desserts contained alcohol since one in our party is allergic, knowing we would be sharing. The Barrymore is truly a "hidden gem" in Las Vegas."

  • "Great Bar, interesting drinks. Restaurant is a throwback to Rat Pack days, especially with lounge singer. Food is outstanding and great service as well. It's a must for me whenever I'm in Las Vegas."

  • "Great dining experience overall including the beautiful atmosphere. We would say it's slightly over priced and the Opentable rating of $30 and under may be a little off. However, we would definitely go back."

  • "As repeat customers of the Barrymore, we were very disappointed with our last visit. We enjoy dining in the "quiet" side of the restaurant, however this evening they placed a large, loud group in the middle of the room. Our server was spread thin between this table, our table and at least two others. Service was not timely. The food that is usually fresh and innovative tasted rather tired. For instance, their fries were always hot and tasty in a vertical cone. This time, they changed the cut on their fries and presented it on a plate like a local diner would. They were limp and lukewarm. Just not the level that it was at prior. I even had to send my steak back twice. At least they did the right thing by taking my steak off our bill."

  • "We've been here a few times. All of the staff and management are exceedingly friendly & polite. They have specials and a dinner menu. Every time we've been here the food is excellent as well as the wine list. The deserts are just okay - but it doesn't detract. The ambiance is as you would find in any very nice restaurant - romantic lighting, etc (this is not a place for anyone under 16). We will definitely go there again."

  • "I had read about the Barrymore and thought it would be something different to try. We were not disappointed! Both the food and service was excellent. The grilled octopus was the best I have ever had and the tuna was prepared perfectly. It was clear that all the dishes are homemade with fresh ingredients. Even the bacon on the brussels sprouts was homemade. The ambiance was relaxing and a nice diversion from the strip."

  • "Would have never known about this spot without the recommendation of a friendly local."

  • "Very cool place, great ambiance, cocktails and service, but the food was dissapointing in every regard and ultimately especially in the price. They need to step up the quality to match not only the prices but their overall vibe and resulting expectations of their diners."

  • "Some friends recommended The Barrymore. When we arrived at the table the waitress was very pleasant however the food was subpar. The bread was trying to be like a french bread, hard and crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. However because they did a epi style bread there was no soft center it was just a rock hard piece of bread. I had to stop several times just to relieve my jaw from working so hard. My wife and I lived in france for many years to give some reference. Then foi gras was next and that was very good. However I had the Duck and I had quite a bit of food but their was no taste. The sauce was bland and the duck was not seasoned well. Overall I payed well over $100 for 2 and received a mediocre $30 meal."

  • "All in all the restaurant was okay. Offered a nice ambiance but food was mediocre and service was just okay. I would recommend this place for a somewhere to grab a cocktail before a night out. There patio looked really nice, so maybe a good place for the summertime."

  • "We went there for Valentine's Day dinner and they made it a perfect experience. The menu is fantastic, the wait staff is personable and friendly, and the ambience is very classy. There was a live guitarist/vocalist who really set the mood. The decor is very Art Deco which is cool. There's a small bar, but definitely make a reservation since all the tables were full. I will definitely go back!"

  • "Barrymore is a contemporary yet retro chic and relaxed venue that features a quaint bar scene (happy hour from 5-7 pm with special), comfortable dining room as well as outdoor, urban living room; great food, wine and cocktails without the attitude and over inflated prices of the Strip. The wine list is often better than top end restaurants at more reasonable prices. Barrymore specializes with locals as well as small groups."

  • "The Barrymore is a hidden gem with excellent service and food to match the amazing ambiance. We had Bill as our server and he was very attentive. The wine list is very extensive but we chose to have cocktails instead and were not disappointed. I had the Moscow Mule and my fiance had the Cherry Picker; both were delicious and went well with our meals. The bread basket came out with fresh, warm bread and we shared a Caesar salad. Both of our steaks were cooked to perfection and our side choices of asparagus and mushrooms were the perfect accompaniments. We skipped dessert since we were both rather full but they had a few tempting choices. Overall, a delicious meal enjoyed in a very intimate setting."

  • "First the Steaks were superb. In other words it was all about the steak not fancied up with lots of sauces and unusual flavors as if to hide the fact that the steak would not stand on its own, like so many "fine" steakhouses. Easily the best steak house I have eaten at in Las Vegas, many costing considerably more. This is a small steakhouse, particularly by Las Vegas standards. You can actually have a conversation while enjoying some very good live music in the classic crooner style. Sides were very good and the baked potato was almost too big to eat but perfectly prepared. I give this one a hardy and completely stuffed Thumbs Up."

  • "The food and staff at The Barrymore once again provided a fantastic meal in great surroundings. The sommelier was spot on with his wine recommendations, which were reasonably priced relative to Las Vegas wine lists. We had a group of friends in town and each was pleased with the meal."

  • "Four of us dined at The Barrymore for dinner recently and it was an amazing experience in every aspect. You feel as if you are in the Las Vegas of the past with its decor and ambience. The food was heavenly. Our waitress, Kendra, a delight and the atmosphere unlike any you will find in Vegas. It is off the strip, in a small hotel called The Royal, but our cab driver knew right where it was as it is becoming quite the popular place. I hope it doesn't lose its charm! Thank you for a fabulous evening....one we are still talking about."

  • "The Barrymore is more a place that locals treasure than tourists. It's just off the strip so a lot of tourists don't even know about it. And it's inside an old hotel. But make no mistake, this place is a complete treasure. It feels like an old hotel, like you're in another time...listening to Frank Sinatra. The chef is an absolute artist. Everything he creates is magic. I took my parents here for their 50th wedding anniversary and they couldn't have been happier. From foie gras, sweetbreads and perfectly seared scallops to fried pork belly and the most amazing lobster mac and cheese you will ever taste, there is not one aspect of this restaurant or the staff that disappoints. I seriously made the chef come out so I could give him a hug."
