Diner Reviews
  • "The Arlington has been a welcome addition to southern Ocean County! The tap list is amazing! It you like good quality crafts brews, here is your spot! The wine list is small, but quality. There is a list of specialty/hand crafted cocktails that are not to be missed. The food is superb! Everything is fresh and seasonal, and the menu changes regularly. The service has always been prompt and friendly, and the staff is very knowledgable about the food and beverages. I highly recommend The Arlington whether it's to sit in the bar for drinks and snacks or the dining room for a full meal."

  • "Once again we thoroughly enjoyed our visit to the Arlington. Attentive service was provided by Cathy - one of the reasons we love the Arlington. Food always delivered hot and timely. What we like most about the Arlington is the BYO policy - corkage is $20. I wish all NJ restaurants followed the CA license policy."

  • "We were excited to find another restaurant online that provided gluten free menu items. However, the brunch alternatives were quite limited and the waitress was not knowledgeable. The atmosphere was country western and the greeting was lukewarm. When I requested coffee at brunch time, the waitress hesitated, then said she would make a pot (implying my request was a pain). The menus were buried under the beer and other drinks list. One member of my party found her poach eggs cold and said she would not be back. She also said, "I should have listened to my friends (residents) who said they wouldn't return." Instead of asking how our meal was the waitress said "I can see that no one liked the food" because we had finished our meal."

  • "This is a relatively new restaurant/bar on Long Beach Island. The food is quite good with appetizers and small plates if you're just having a drink to flavorful and well prepared entrees. Main courses include tasty seafood dishes including paella as well one of the best grilled pork chops I've ever had! The cocktails and craft beers are also excellent. The interior is warm and rustic and the bar scene at night can get crowded, noisy and fun. This place looks to be turning into a local favorite."

  • "This is a place that I would love to go to on a regular basis. However, I can't. It is a little too rich for my blood. The prices are high (quality also high) and the portions are not in line with the prices. This doesn't necessarily bother me because I understand it is a business and fresh local food costs more. I understand my place in the world, and I can't eat and drink there often. That doesn't mean that you shouldn't. I call a place like the Arlington a "once in a while" place. Because I will absolutely be back to dine and drink (especially drink! Kudos on the great beer selections) every once in a while!"

  • "Went early (5pm). Was quiet even later when a lot of groups started arriving. Food was great and very well presented. 23 beers on tap. Great craft selection! Prices were reasonable and comparable to other restaraunts in the area. Looking forward to going back again."

  • "My girlfriend and I went to The Arlington for Valentines dinner. She ordered a Cosmo and I had the Yards pale ale. Over 15 taps of craft beer to chose from! You can even get a growler to take it home in! Fantastic! For our meals, I had ordered the French onion soup and we both ordered the roasted chicken. The soup was good. The chicken was to die for. The skin was crispy, the chicken was flavorful and juicy. Just amazing. We also had agreed that the mashed potatoes that come as a side were amazing. They just were. Overall "The Arlington" was great. More options to the dinner menu could have been added same to dessert menu but the atmosphere and our dinner were fantastic. Cannot wait to go back this summer with friends."

  • "Would probably return for lunch only. Restaurant was LOUD--not a place to "chill" on Friday night. Food and service were good but restaurant has no ambiance and was cold--more like a sports bar atmosphere. Bar was hoppin. They will probably do well in the summer since they are located so close to the beach. The beer flights are a novel idea and appeal to those into micro beers. Their Snack menu is perfect for a light lunch."

  • "The flights of beer are wonderful. Food is innovative and contemporary, and is beautifully presented - each dish seems to have it's own special plate. The tables are not crowded together which gives a feeling of relaxation and comfort. Staff is fantastic and very knowledgeable about their beer/wine list (over 100 beers!) and menu. This restaurant will appeal to all ages, my children who are in thier 20's and 30's loved this place and we were comfortable bringing their small children. I will be coming here again and again. There is something new every time on the beer list and menu."

  • "Thankfully the Arlington is open and serving up fab food and craft beers. We thoroughly enjoyed our mussels, scallops and the flight of beer. Looking forward to returning in 2014 for brunch!"

  • "Had an early dinner on NewYear's Eve. The food was served quickly, nicely presented and tasted good. The wait staff was attentive and knowledgeable. However, the ambiance was very disappointing. The restaurant is not cozy but feels cold and is uncomfortable. The noise level was very high and the music overhead was loud, discordant and did not contribute to a relaxing, enjoyable dining atmosphere. The prices are also high and a 20% gratuity was automatically added to our bill with only the ability to add an additional tip; there was no ability to decrease it if we had wanted to. I hope the environment improves to match the food."

  • "Not bad, not great, on New Year's Eve, the Arlington was right in the middle. A summer hot spot, the Arlingtonis open all year. Maybe a holiday evening is not the best judge of a place, but if they can handle summer crowds, you think they can handle a less than capacity New Years Eve crowd. Prices were bumped up 20% to cover the tip. The waitress was pleasant enough but was really pushing the drinks,. The runner delivered us entrees meant for another table - then argued with me when I said they weren't ours! Later, the same runner delivered our appetizers to another table. The menu offered some intriguing items, but failed to deliver, the baby octopus, the striped bass and the lamb were all overdone. Not going to run back there soon."

  • "We were delighted to find such a gem of a restaurant on LBI. I had the trio of duck with confit of duck, sliced duck breast and duck fois gras blended with grits. It was AMAZING! My husband had the striped bass and it tasted like it was just caught. The beer list is the real highlight of this restaurant. They have about 25 beers available on the list and you can order a flight for $12. You can pick whatever 4 beers you want. My husband loved it. I had wine and the selection was very good. Thank you for a wonderful meal and we will definately be back."

  • "We enjoy this restaurant and they are good for a unique drink menu and beer choices as well. Good is gourmet! Only complaint is the noise level... They should do something to absorb the noise"

  • "Had dinner at the Arlington this past weekend. Food was excellent. I had the short ribs while my husband went with the pork chop. Both were delicious. Also had appetizers which were also excellent. We also went to the bar for a pre-dinner drink . They had a large selection of craft beers for my husband to chhose from and the bartender was knowledgeable about them while they also carried a nice prosecco for me to enjoy. Will definitely be going back!"

  • "Went here because it is in our neighborhood. Overall the rating is good. Prices are quite high especially for drinks. Happy hour only applies to the bar. Other restaurants appy to all. We were charged $2.00 more for drinks on rocks. Do not intend to go here again."

  • "The Arlington is a welcome addition to the LBI dining scene. Farm to table does not do enough to describe it, as it is also "Boat to Table", with fresh fish and seafood coming to the Restaurant from Barnegat Light daily. If they have it , order the Striped Bass ~ you will Not be disappointed !"

  • "The atmosphere was very nice, clean, friendly service, good drink prices. The cheese platter and Beet salad was very good, unfortunately the main course was on the bland side. The short ribs were really tender just lacked flavor same with the steak. Would go back to the bar for drinks and apps but disappointed in the meal."

  • "We've been coming to LBI for nearly 20 years. This year, in addition to all of our faves, we decided to give The Arlington, a new restaurant in Shipbottom, a shot this trip. We really liked The Arlington. Our waitress was amazing and I'm devastated that I don't remember her name because I'd love to give her the compliment. The Corn Chowder as our appetizer which was delicious. Very different than most corn chowders I've ever had. It came out fast, it was hot and yummy! Entree's, my son had the steak which was cooked perfectly. I had the Swordfish which was also done perfectly and my husband had the Short Ribs which were really wonderful. If you are a beer lover, you'll love the beer menu. Prices were reasonable too. Well B Back"

  • "We had hoped for a great meal and ended up with anything but. Overpriced. Small portions. Expensive cocktails and the side of Mac and cheese was burnt and naked pasta. My family ordered the paella and it was very disappointing. My seared ahi tuna was ok but was $38. Wouldn't go back again."
