The American Sector @ The National WWII MuseumWonderful dining experience!Food and service were impeccable. Highly recommended!5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMMust Try AgainWhat an awesome find in the middle of New Orleans! I love the look and feel of the restaurant. The service was excellent and the food is great. I would love to come back and experience what this place has to offer, museum tour and dining!5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMCelebrating our daughtersCelebrating our daughters 21st birthday, all she wanted was dinner at the World War 2 museum. Started in the bar, fun cocktails moderately priced. The Pink Squirrel was a big hit. We had a later reservation but were able to be seated outdoors earlier. Outdoor patio is ok, plastic tables & chairs, some with cracks, but clean. Dinners were all great, not gourmet dining, this is one of John Besh's side line kitchens. We met one of the managers who was very talkative, spoke highly of the chef and his other establishments, local goings on in NOLA, and Jazzfest (which we were there for). It made for a great and memorable night. Very casual, and great for a bite after touring the museum.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat clean decor. My SwordfishGreat clean decor. My Swordfish was perfect. Upscale soda shop style with menu to match with extra heart healthy items. Can't wait to go back, especially for lunch,4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMPerfect lunch after visitingPerfect lunch after visiting the World War II Museum.4/3/2013 12:00:00 AMWhether you're visiting theWhether you're visiting the museum or not, The American Sector bar and restaurant is perfect for time-less cocktails and modern twists by John Besh on classic dishes from the WWII era.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMHappy Hour HeavenGreat happy hour with a great "in-between menu"! My family of four (foodies all) on vacation in NOLA spent a wonderful afternoon at the WW II museum and had a great early dinner at American Sector. The meat pies (only 75 cents during happy hour) were so delicious that we would eat them every day if we could. The smoked lamb ribs were tender with a tasty glaze. The cheeseburger sliders were average (too thick and not enough flavor) but they sat on incredible buns. The BBQ pork sliders were good and sat on the same great buns. The fries were so good that we quickly doubled our order. Fried chicken gizzards...be brave...they are sublime! Our server (Justin S) was good to us and good to our special needs son. Oh, and the cupcakes!!!!3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMThumbs-UpThis gem of a restaurant had a surprisingly varied menu, the food was all delicious and well-presented. The openness of the restaurant might turn some people off, but we thought it had quite a modern feel. The staff was quite pleasant and eager to please. Easy to get a reservation during the week to celebrate a special occasion and we noted plenty of space for large parties.3/28/2013 12:00:00 AMThis is a John Besh gem withThis is a John Besh gem with affordable pricing, not a long line and his signature incredible food. At peak dining times you would want a reservation though because when the movie Not All Boundries lets out around lunch time the crowd instinctively goes here for lunch. At our table we ordered the hot dog, monte christo and mini burgers. They were all amazing. Don't worry about upgrading from chips to fries because the chips are thin, crispy and have just the right amount of salt. The hot dog is not from Oscar Meyer...this hot dog is from another planet...definitely a must try!3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMWhat a wonderful restaurantWhat a wonderful restaurant at a must visit museum. So unlike any other restaurant you would find at a museum
Will buy the cookbook hoping to get some of the recipes.3/13/2013 12:00:00 AMThey have a great happy hour. They have a great happy hour. The snacks and appetizers were better than the main course selections, but overall it was very good.3/13/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent spot! This place is great! Service is always outstanding. Treat you like family when I walk through the door.3/12/2013 12:00:00 AMMy kids felt very stronglyMy kids felt very strongly this was the best food we had in New Orleans. They were surprisingly adventurous, and loved the food at the atmosphere. Very grateful we were there on a Monday, and that a neighbor recommended the red beans and rice special! I was so glad I had made reservations -- definitely not the typical museum fare!3/10/2013 12:00:00 AM
