The Alehouse ColumbiaExcellent restaurantService was very good- friendly, attentive, took very good care of us. Nicely decorated, very modern but extremely comfortable.
Will be back again.5/15/2013 12:00:00 AMMom's Day DinnerMy family really enjoyed our dinner. The restaurant is new, modern, and very comfortable. I will definitely go back. They may become my new favorite neighborhood restaurant.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMThe place is tucked away inThe place is tucked away in the shopping center but it's well worth finding. The food was great. We went for Sunday Brunch and were surprised by all the choices. I wanted breakfast so I had the steak and eggs which was pretty hearty, but my wife went for the braised short ribs which she said were fantastic. She also ordered a Brewhouse Pretzel which was freshly baked and was so good that we ordered one to go. There were lots of choices on the menu. There were also a lot of interesting beers that I'd like to try. We're definitely going to be coming back here again!5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMYou gotta try the mussels...With the popularity of the newest Columbia hot spot, I was expecting good food, but not great. However I was again surprised by another fantastic meal at the Alehouse. Their soft pretzel appetizer is a perfect accompaniment to of their many beers. And I had a craving for mussels, so I gave the Thai Mussels a try. Now, during the summer, I pick my own mussels off the coast of Maine and cook them that day, which is hard to beat. But these Thai Mussels were amazing. So mussel lovers, no need to be wary of giving these a try. Plus, thankfully, this restaurant takes reservations, so plan ahead & make a reservation, use the valet parking if the lot is crowded, and enjoy a wonderful meal!5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMDate nightThis is a great place for date night. The food is good, the service terrific. Not a real romantic place with all the sport tvs etc .. I like the way they separated the bar from the tables. Well done.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMFun timesWe had a great dinning experience at the alehouse in Columbia. Our food was great and the selection of Beers is fantastic. I am so happy to find a fun spot like this. It's food is much better than it's companion in B-more and it offers a better beer selection. Parking is awful on a Friday night - they do offer valet service but what it costs I don't know. And for how bad the parking is I hope it is free. Parking aside this place is very good.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMA Delicious First VisitI was late in making a reservation, so our reserved time was 8:45 on a Saturday night. We came early hoping to get seated early. Instead we were offered a table outside, which we took. It was a bit chilly, but we enjoyed ourselves anyway, and it was our choice after all. I can imagine that in warmer weather, the patio will get packed.
The three of us ordered three different beers, which were all delicious and we all got the fish tacos, which were very tasty.
I look forward to going again and trying various things on the menu.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had a very nice time.We had a very nice time. The food was good, our service was very good, and the selection of beer/ale was huge. It was a bit chilly to sit outside in the evening, but when the weather warms, we will make another trip over and enjoy the outdoors. I would definitely recommend The Alehouse.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMIt was our first time tryingIt was our first time trying the Ale house. The food was great and the beer list was incredible! My fiancé and I love craft beers so it was perfect for us, and they allowed you to sample diff ones before you chose! The food was great, I had the BBQ pork pizza and it was huge and delish! My only two negatives were that it was pretty loud, and we felt rushed, I understand they were busy but we still, I like to take my time do apps and drinks and then wait and order! Over tho, very good and we will go back!4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMI'll confess that when myI'll confess that when my co-worker suggested The Alehouse, I was skeptical, expecting just mediocre bar food. But the menu had lots of tasty options; I think all of us were pleased with our choices, and there were several options for my vegetarian friend. My tacos al pastor and pineapple-chili margarita (Yum!) were a lovely combo.4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMOk but when a plate brokeOk but when a plate broke nearby and a piece landed on me, they did not even offer a free drink.4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food here is awesome. The food here is awesome. I got a caesar salad, which was really yummy with just the right amount of dressing. I asked for s small version and the waiter said no problem, but it was really large. My vegetable risotto was excellent. The veggies were done correctly and it had the perfect amount of seasoning. My mom had the tuna tartar and it was also very good. I think the right amount of tune and avocado. She also had french onion soup which she said was the best she had in a long time. Finally she also had the pork tacos, which must have been good because they were gone before I could get a taste.4/7/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat neighborhood gem.1st time dining here. Great atmosphere, very energetic. Food was above average and I had received great service from a very attentive server. Live music was a plus. Seemed like a local hotspot for twenty and thirty something's. Would def return.4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMWE have been to the AlehouseWE have been to the Alehouse a few times. Each time the service has been excellent, the food good and beer selection is very good. This time there was a mishap. We ordered salads with our meals, but they did not arrive ahead of the entre's. The manager was quick to apologize and offered to bring them immediately. When we responded that we didn't want them with the entre, he immediately offered free deserts in place of the salad. This turned an irritation into a pleasant experience. Well done.4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMThe beer and the food wasThe beer and the food was excellent! I will definitely come back...4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMNot just a sports bar! It’s a Sports bar with world class beer and food leaning towards upscale dining. I highly recommend for casual dining.4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMHad a great time for our familyHad a great time for our family Easter dinner! Can't wait to go back!3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMFun PlaceSampling the different beers was fun. The waitress was very knowledgeable about the different kinds. Food was very good too.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMHigh quality food, alwaysHigh quality food, always fresh and delicious. Burgers are exceptional. Great mussels and ahi tuna is amazing.3/24/2013 12:00:00 AMThe service was very good. The service was very good. Our server was busy at another table when we were sat. Somebody else took our drink order right away. My braised short rib was great. My wife's ribeye was a bit fatty though still tasty. Our server (Chris) was attentive and personable without being pushy.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMSince the Ale House ColumbiaSince the Ale House Columbia opened it has been our most favorite place to visit, boasting about 8 times in that very short timeframe. All due to its excellent food selection, proving it does not have to have an enormous list of options to be great food in preparation and presentation.
My utmost favorite is the French Onion Ale Soup (which I have had 4 times) along with about half of the other fabulous menu items, and NEVER been disappointed. My husband always favors the Burger and always comes cooked EXACTLY as ordered (a rare thing in most restaurants), although last visit he had the Tuna Steak which he claimed was awsome
The friendly staff and helpful waiters and waitresses are always eager to answer questions. I give it a 4 1/2 STA3/21/2013 12:00:00 AMNice place not too far from homeWe had never been to the Ale House and were very pleasantly surprised. The staff was great and nicely attentive without being "hovering." We stopped in for an early St. Patrick's Day dinner and were happy to see that it wasn't a mob scene. Everyone enjoyed their meals (among them a pretty nice corned beef, cabbage, and potatoes for the special day) and - as you would imagine - the beer list is impressive. We will definitely be going back to the Ale House to sample more of their fare.3/17/2013 12:00:00 AMWe've been here several times,We've been here several times, and have always been happy. The servers are attentive and knowledgable without hovering. The menu is well-chosen. This time we went on St. Patrick's day, for which they had an additional specials menu. They corned their own beef and served it with melt-in-your mouth cabbage. Their lamb stew was deeply flavored. The Irish soda bread was dense, but with a light crumb and lovely flavor. The regular menu includes mussels, fish tacos, a great chopped salad and, for those with kids, a kids menu.3/17/2013 12:00:00 AMSince the Ale House opened,Since the Ale House opened, I have been many times and have never been disappointed. This time was no exception. I am also impressed with the way they have recognized issues and acted. Their popularity caused long waits, so they joined Open Table, parking became difficult, so they add free valet parking.3/14/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food and the beer selectionGreat food and the beer selection was impressive! Def gonna be back soon & I love the location!3/13/2013 12:00:00 AMSadly, do not recall our waitress'sSadly, do not recall our waitress's name but she was knowledgeable, friendly, attentive and REALLY knew her beer!!!!
One of the best waitresses we have had.3/11/2013 12:00:00 AM
