  • "Nice ambience. Food was up to par at all. The pork chop balsamic reduction was over saturated. The orichette pasta had little to no flavor, mushrooms were undercooked. The scallions were cooked correctly. The service needs help. The waitstaff were obviously overwhelmed with the tradeshow crowd."

  • "The food was fresh and wonderfully prepared with some if the offerings featuring unique combinations. In addition, the attention to detail in the hand crafted cocktails was obvious. Service was attentive, but not intrusive."

  • "I went here last night with my fiancee and a couple of friends and had an amazing evening. It is a very intimate place with about 12 tables. The food that was offered for restaurant week was phenomenal! I am a steak girl and I had one of my favorite filets here. All of their food is exceptional and really recommend Canary bu Gorji! This is a MUST TRY!"

  • "This is not your usual hotel restaurant. It's located in the Westin Galleria. You want glitzy, noisy, and crowded, go downstairs to Oceannaire (which is also a great hotel restaurant). 2nd Floor is more intimate IF you ask for the backroom away from the bar area. The menu is eclectic and changes seasonally or possibly at the whim of the chef. Very unusual combinations of flavors without overwhelming the featured entre. Try the deviled eggs or the five-spice braised short ribs or just be adventurous. There is also a separate room for group gatherings. We held our Christmas Party there once and it was great."

  • "service was very good, host and waitstaff were very pleasant and courteous...pizza, steak and salmon dishes were all really good...however we were served a questionable tuna dish that we had to return...to their credit, management was apologetic about the incident and comp'ed our desserts and valet parking."

  • "Place was not busy. Service was professional and personable at the same time. I will go back. Food was well prepared"

  • "Went into the restaurant thinking it was a typical hotel venue with mediocrity being their mantra, but was pleasantly surprised. Hummus appetizer was spot-on, and the salmon was perfect. Salad was a nondescript bowl of greens, so I'd advise choosing something else on that point. Service was friendly and fast without being obtrusive. Show your Starwood card for 10% off."

  • "We went for brunch. Our service was excellent and so were our appetizers- we had the deviled eggs and pork belly sliders. For the entrees I had the big biscuit and my boyfriend had the 2nd floor benedict. Both were tasty, but needed a little more flavor. We both had to keep adding pepper and some salt to it. I'd definitely return for brunch, but would probably try a different dish."

  • "This was the first time we visited this restaurant. I read all the previous reviews and decided this was the place to celebrate Father's Day. The food was great. The service was awesome and everyone was so nice even the other patrons. I will visit again."

  • "I was so impressed with this restaurant! The pork sliders were memorable with the crispy crust on the pork belly. I wasn't sure that blueberries were going to work with the pork, but I thought, surely a chef knows how to pair things, and he/she did. The compote was perfect, but what was even better was the cinnamon smoke that crusted up the pork tenderloin. It wasn't heavy handed, the pork was cooked just right, tender, and moist. The food was spectacular and the service was just the right amount. Not overbearing, yet attentive to the right amount. She had excellent bar recommendations. There was a forgotten side, but she promptly removed it from our bill. I was pleased with our experience and would love to go back."

  • "The service is outstanding. We had a group of ten celebrating at brunch. The staff took extra special care of us. All the food came out at the same time which is not easy with a large group. Most really enjoyed the food and drinks. Though my nephew and I had a supposedly popular menu item the breakfast biscuit made with chive and cheddar with pork belly, egg, and boar gravy. We both remarked on the smallest egg we had seen. My nephew called it half an egg. The pork belly was dry and tough on both. We go to second floor frequently we love the place and they have one of the best whiskey lists in town. The only problem we have with them is the inconsistency with the food. Sometimes it is really good sometimes it is not. Two meals didn't work."

  • "We're big fans of Bijioux, Scott Gottlich's other Dallas eatery. This was our first time at The 2nd Floor and we weren't disappointed. The ambiance was nice for a hotel restaurant and the wait staff was great, but the food is the real attraction. Everything was delicious! We'll definitely be back."

  • "I have enjoyed every buffet at The Second Floor but the Mother's Day version was THE BEST. Amazingly good food, lots of variety. and the quality was outstanding. Staff worked perfectly together, and it was nice to see so many family's together celebrating the day. The room was set very appropriately- lots of personal space between tables. Food choices were outstanding, and I enjoyed all of them. The "buffet etiquette" of some of my fellow guests surprised me. Folks, it's easy. You put the food on your plate, then go sit down and eat it! Odd how some diners don't understand the concept of a buffet. But for everyone that does, there is none better in Dallas. GREAT VALUE, GREAT FOOD!"

  • "The Mother's Day Brunch was quite good with a wide variety of dishes and desserts. The spicy Shrimp and Grits were outstanding."

  • "I have been to the 2nd Floor twice. Both times the food was quite good, as was the service. It's a breeze to get to. Just pull up to the Westin, give your car to the valet, and make a right up the escalator as soon as you enter the hotel. You won't be disappointed. "

  • "I would say overall the food were good. We ordered Belgium Waffle, Shrimp & Grits, and Omelette. Waffle was excellent, as well as the shrimps & grits. But the omelette wasn't good. It was too plain, nothing was seasoning. I won't be order that again. "

  • "I chose The 2nd Floor for our family to eat on Easter Sunday. First, when I reserved a table on open table, I had to provide my credit card information so we could be charged $25 person, if we were not able to show up for some reason. The ambience was nice and it was kid friendly. However, it wasn't in my top 10 of places to enjoy brunch. The eggs were made for order, the waffles were made ahead of time even though they had a waffle maker and the batter set up at the table. The selection of food was pretty large, however there was only four items that I thought they prepared extremely well. So, for three adults, we paid $231.00 for brunch where we were automatically charged gratuity and $9.00 for two glasses of tea. "

  • "Th Easter Sunday Brunch at the Second Floor was extraordinary. A great selection of well-prepared food, plus $2 Mimosas plus one of the friendliest staffs in Dallas equaled a special dining experience (make your reservations NOW for their Mother's Day Brunch; they always sell out). Not only was there a great variety of food but every dish was well prepared and presented. The staff throughout were on their game, and the result was gracious and attentive service. This restaurant always offers, not only the expected buffet fare, but also many surprises which make the meal even more of a value. While there are several rooms in which to dine, all have special charm. The Second Floor is second to none for their special buffets."

  • "The 2nd Floor is tucked away on the second floor of the Westin Galleria Hotel. It is an unassuming space with a welcoming quality that makes you relax and stay a while. The menu has enough variety for almost any diner and the service is excellent. It was quiet, comfortable and perfect for our group of four. The restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner and has a full bar with a knowledgeable staff to assist you with selecting the perfect wine for your meal. They also have a huge selection of scotch and whiskey lined up behind the bar. The seasoned staff will make you feel like a regular. Thanks for a great meal!"

  • "This night wasn't as fabulous regarding service. :-( However, the Scotch selections are incredible. The most amazing Scotch aficionado works at The 2nd Floor, knows the lingo, AND can teach a thing or two. Now, if we can get all the servers onboard… Given the fact that our waitress was serving almost the entire restaurant, I will allow some grace. Our food was delish, and know we'll be back for more. Some creativity in the dish offerings, which is a must. Enjoyable and unexpected place, not well known, so we're big fans."

  • "While the food and price were in line with the location and hotel, the wait staff was somewhat lacking in providing refills to coffee, alittle to quick to take my full breakfast plate, and somewhat curt. However, the person who welcomed my quest and I to the restaurant was very professional in knowing my name, recognized my reservation, and walked us to our table."

  • "Anyone looking for an upscale bar has come to the right place. The drink menu is fantastic, and they have an excellent availability of top shelf liquors. Our reservation showed up cancelled somehow, but our party was seated quickly in under 5 minutes. The food took awhile to come out, but it was totally worth the wait. Our table had pork chops, shrimp & grits, burgers, and salmon. Everyone loved what they ordered. You can order half portions which I appreciate so I don't have leftovers or feel stuffed. The service was very friendly and helpful. We had a great time and felt comfortable the entire time."

  • "we were looking for something upscale but no crowds. we found 2nd floor by chance. wide range menu with a 5 star attempt but only 3 star execution. we had fish which was nice but seemed to have bad choices accompanying the fish by the chef. I would go back more for the location while shopping than to seek out for the special occasion."

  • "This restaurant is nothing special. I went to celebrate a recent engagment and even wrote that when making my reservation, however, no one acknowledged this so I was underwhelmed with that factor. My fiance had a great meal, however, mine was nothing special. For the money, I would probably go somewhere else."

  • "This was my wife and I's first time dining with The 2nd Floor. (Keep in mind that we only went for dessert, and we got there after the Valentine's Dinner had ended) Our reservation was for 10:30pm and was meant to be a Dessert and After-Dinner Drink stop to end our Friday night as the restaurant is located a short walk from our hotel. Service was lackluster at best...no real "wow" moments with our server. The food was very good. My wife and I each got a dessert (I highly recommend the Apple Pie with Yuzu Ice Cream). The only real "deal-breaker" for us was that the bar area was so loud with a large group of young, working-class suits that we simply could not enjoy each others company, or even hear each other speak for that matter..."

  • "2nd Floor is a nice modern restaurant but the service was slow and we constantly had to remind the waiter for our wine to be delivered. (We did a wine paring with each course.) The bar get loud later in the evening ruining the end of a romantic dinner. Just be sure to ask to be seated in the main part of the restaurant. The food was good but nothing to blow you away."

  • "I have to say my girlfriend and I were very impressed. This was a great find even though I booked it at the last minute. Waitstaff was amazing, she knew her dishes, wine, etc. No complaints. Great place and food etc. Guys, take your woman out to this place at least once to show her some appreciation or love. Place is pricey but so worth it."

  • "We dined there for Valentine's Day. Initially our reservation could not be found and once it was located we had to wait about 10 to 15 minutes to be seated, which was a little tight because someone had brought their approx 8 year old son with them and he was laid out in the seating area while his parents dined at the bar. That's not a reflection of the restaurant but it is of the parents. Once we were seated, the experience improved exponentially. The choices given for the 4 course menu were quite good and the wines to go with them were even better. The pork chop was amazing and the wine it was paired with were absolutely amazing. Some of the courses came a little close together, but other than the overall experience was quite nice."

  • "We made reservations for Valentine's Day and had the special four-course (two shared) menu, with several selections offered for each course. We chose the Chateaubriand for two main course and it was fabulous! Large slices of rare beef arranged on a large platter with bearnaise, fingerling potatoes and sautéed veggies. In fact all the dishes were creative and very tasty and the servers took excellent care of us without hovering or rushing us. Our only criticism is the room where we were seated was like a hotel conference room with glass doors opening toward the mall, disconnected from the dining room and bar. The minimalist décor was cold and uninviting, with weird lighting, a non-functioning bar and a TV on one wall. Needs work!"

  • "We had a nice date and my girl is a foodie for sure. The wine pairings were great! The service was good and the waiter juggled the table ratio well (8:1). The private dinning room was an all white setting which isn't my ideal but somehow it worked. Overall a good experience. We will be back."
