The chef writes...
"This restaurant is about the love of food…all food from all cultures. These are the recipes of my youth…invoking memories of happiness, special occasions and of times shared around the family table. Like most of you, so many of my memories are punctuated with the remembrance of meals…meals that were lovingly prepared by our mothers and fathers, grandmothers and great aunts, and special friends who became "adopted" family members. I invite you to come in…meet my family…hear our stories…and tell us yours. Share a meal with us…let's raise a glass and toast to your special occasion…and together, create a new memory.

  • "Had a special entree. It wasn't very special. Service was fine. Calamari salad was good"

  • "The food and service was amazing. The Osso Buca was to die for. I love how they catered to my dad's gluten free dietary needs. It was like eating in your utalian grandmas home"

  • "Went for Farm to FORK meal and had 4 out of this world courses. All served by a friendly server, Frank, who was there when you needed him but not overbearing. Great corn and clam chowder, peach schnapps chicken, the best fried green tomatoe with a leek topping that I could have eaten 4 for my meal."

  • "We have eaten at just about every restaurant in Collingswood and feel that the combination of atmosphere, service and food make That's Amore best in class."

  • "Not much to look at on the outside, but the food was excellent as was the service. We'll go back. Deserts could be better."

  • "We were excited to be coming for the first time during Restaurant Week, but unfortunately it fell short of our expectations. Our server was very nice, but we felt extremely rushed even though they were not busy. Our 2nd course came before 1 of our party finished their 1st. Our main courses were disappointing."

  • "It was really surprisingly excellent A wonderful and interesting menu"

  • "We have been to That's Amore numerous times but this was our best visit so far. The fried pizza was delicious; the fresh, hot bread and dipping gravy is out of this world wonderful and the gnocchi florentine melted in my mouth. Service was terrific as was the personal visit from the owner. Happy to see That's Amore doing well - your success is well-deserved!"

  • "This was the first time we dined at this restaurant. We arrived early in the evening on a Thursday and the restaurant was pretty empty. The food was excellent, very generous portions . We splurged and had dessert which was out if this world. They are known for their cheesecake and I see why. Before we left a few more people came in. I think that because it was the start of a holiday weeknd (4th of July) that many people were heading to the shore . Will definitely return"

  • "Having been to most of the Collingswood Restaurants, it took a Gift Certificate to open my eyes to this GEM. BYOB of course. Owner/Chef spoke with us on his rounds The gnocchi were "to die for". We got a dinner order to split as an appetizer between four. We fought over licking the bowl. My Ossa Buca was a pork shank cooked for hours, a brown reduction gravy, couldn't finish it, but it was fabulous. A grilled vegi appetizer with toasted bread was very good. A tilapia dish and salmon were very good as well. The desserts blueberry cobbler with gelato and a cheesecake with peaches on top, all home made. Excellent. My first thought upon going home was to make a return reservation. We will be back. Recommend 6-6:30, calm and quiet."

  • "Fantastic food right down to the bread. Nice portions."

  • "There was one waiter for about 7 tables of 2 or more. We asked for bread three times before getting a basket. The waiter was overwhelemed and short tempered. When the check came the waiter advised he wasn't able to accommodate our request to split the bill on multiple cards. He was only able to use two cards or cash. We were followed by a man in plain clothes, possibly the Owner, and questioned about our gratuity. He suggested we reconsider our tip. Two days later we found one of the debit cards was charged twice."

  • "We have been to That's Amore a number of times, and each time has been thoroughly enjoyable. This trip we had the penne with a butternut squash and marsala sauce and also the gnocci with a cream and fig jam with pancetta sauce. Both were fantastic. We always take our bottle of fine wine (BYOB and no corkage fee). The portions are large enough to take leftovers for lunch the next day, and the prices are very reasonable."

  • "Love the funky vibe . Not your typical south jersey restaurant . Byob . Nice mix of people - young couples , older couples , a couple large parties and some families but the noise level is high so it isn't distracting . Some tables are close together but still feel like you can have a private conversation. Nice variety of traditional and interesting food choices. Love the arincini balls for an appetizer"

  • "Been to this restaurant many times. Always really enjoy it. Arrancini and gnoochis especially. Love the bread and dipping sauce. Only 2 minor things to mention: the waitress forget to charge us for the dessert, which we brought to her attention. She didn't know what to charge and charged us $8, which we thought was a little high for a small bottle of expresso soda and one dip of ice cream in it. We also always get a quart of the yummy meatballs and sauce to go for another meal. When we went to eat them, we were disappointed they were hardly any meatballs in it and lots of sauce. We had trouble getting 3 small sandwiches out of it. Never happened before. And we miss Anthony!"

  • "We went to That's Amore to celebrate our engagement- it was awesome! Dinner was incredible- and of course there is always food left over so leftovers made a great lunch the next day :) The feeling in the restaurant is definitely an "everyone is family" sort of environment. After dinner, we told the waitress we had just gotten engaged and she took a bunch of pictures for us; there was a bachlorette party there for dinner and they cheered for it too- it was just a really great time. And the gnocchi.. oh my lord the gnocchi... It's divine. Absolutely divine. I dream about gnocchi from That's Amore!"

  • "Everything about our dinner at That's Amore was exceptional. This isn't the first time we've been there, but each time we go it's like rediscovering a hidden gem. The fried rice balls appetizer was outstanding. The penne with butternut squash sauce is my favorite entree, and the portions are large enough to take home lunch for the next day. They offer a wide range of pastas with your choice of sauces, and every one that I've tried is very good. There are many other choices on the extensive menu to please just about anyone. We will be back..."

  • "Decided to try somewhere new for a change and were pleasantly surprised by That's Amore. My salmon was prefectly cooked and my parents really enjoyed their pasta dishes. So much to choose from, I had a hard time deciding what to order! Definitely want to come back and try their Sunday Gravy dish (we tried the sauce with the bread provided and it was fantastic!) Can't wait to come back."

  • "Our experience at That's Amore was an overall positive one. The food was excellent and the portions were heaping. The one downside was there was only one server working this night(Thursday). Although it was not that crowded(approx 10 tables) this to me is unacceptable. The waiter we had was awesome not grumpy or overwhelmed by the workload. He handled everything with extreme professionalism . We have been to several restaurants in this area and the ambience in this one is lacking a bit but the food certainly makes up for it"

  • "The service was excellent, the food was good, it was just too much of it - the plates were over-flowing with food, which can be off-putting to some, including me. Sometimes more is not better. The waitress was terrific, but we really could have gone without dinner after the appetizers, so if you go - order appetizers and then wait to order more food as you might not need it - ended up taking most of it home! The choices of sauces and pasta was very good and the prices reasonable. If you used to upscale dining, the place is small and very very casual. The food is very good and menu is great and varied. It would be great for a family with hungry teenage boys! It is a nice little place, but not my style with the huge portion size."

  • "Our dinner was delicious! It was Macaroni & Cheese month and we got to sample two really fabulous dishes! This is probably our favorite restaurant in Collingswood. We drive all the way from Villanova, PA to eat here!"

  • "We went to That's Amore, not knowing that they extended restaurant week. It was really packed in the place, close together, and really noisy. All of the tables were filled. It took our waitress 10 minutes before she greeted us. However, it was understandable, the place was packed and they looked short staffed. Once she put our meals in, everything came out quickly and timely; not too soon while we still were eating the previous meal. The food was presented beautifully and was rich with flavor. It made a great lunch for the next day. The portions were huge! Definitely a place I will be visiting again very soon!"

  • "That's Amore creates a varied menu with heavy Mediteranean influence. Considering their tiny, tiny kitchen it's an amazing feat. We were there for Restaurant Week and started with complementary hot bread with hot tomato sauce for dipping. It was a homey start. For my first course there was a version of Caesar salad that included a creamy feta-like dab of dressing and yummy polenta croutons. My only criticism is that the romaine wasn't the green leafy parts of the head but mainly the pale lower part of the stem. The next course of olive tapenade on crispy toasts was garlicy goodness. My entree was their Sunday Gravy - meatballs, sausage and a country spare rib that was cooking in their uncomplicated tomato sauce and served over a mountain of"
