Serving favorite Italian classics and inspired specials. Featuring Chef's Table...8+ courses hand-picked by the chef and hand delivered to your table. $35 and $50 options. "Quite possibly the 8th Wonder of the World"

The chef writes...
"This restaurant is about the love of food…all food from all cultures. These are the recipes of my youth…invoking memories of happiness, special occasions and of times shared around the family table. Like most of you, so many of my memories are punctuated with the remembrance of meals…meals that were lovingly prepared by our mothers and fathers, grandmothers and great aunts, and special friends who became "adopted" family members. I invite you to come in…meet my family…hear our stories…and tell us yours. Share a meal with us…let's raise a glass and toast to your special occasion…and together, create a new memory.

Diner Reviews
  • "The service was excellent, the food was good, it was just too much of it - the plates were over-flowing with food, which can be off-putting to some, including me. Sometimes more is not better. The waitress was terrific, but we really could have gone without dinner after the appetizers, so if you go - order appetizers and then wait to order more food as you might not need it - ended up taking most of it home! The choices of sauces and pasta was very good and the prices reasonable. If you used to upscale dining, the place is small and very very casual. The food is very good and menu is great and varied. It would be great for a family with hungry teenage boys! It is a nice little place, but not my style with the huge portion size."

  • "Our dinner was delicious! It was Macaroni & Cheese month and we got to sample two really fabulous dishes! This is probably our favorite restaurant in Collingswood. We drive all the way from Villanova, PA to eat here!"

  • "We went to That's Amore, not knowing that they extended restaurant week. It was really packed in the place, close together, and really noisy. All of the tables were filled. It took our waitress 10 minutes before she greeted us. However, it was understandable, the place was packed and they looked short staffed. Once she put our meals in, everything came out quickly and timely; not too soon while we still were eating the previous meal. The food was presented beautifully and was rich with flavor. It made a great lunch for the next day. The portions were huge! Definitely a place I will be visiting again very soon!"

  • "That's Amore creates a varied menu with heavy Mediteranean influence. Considering their tiny, tiny kitchen it's an amazing feat. We were there for Restaurant Week and started with complementary hot bread with hot tomato sauce for dipping. It was a homey start. For my first course there was a version of Caesar salad that included a creamy feta-like dab of dressing and yummy polenta croutons. My only criticism is that the romaine wasn't the green leafy parts of the head but mainly the pale lower part of the stem. The next course of olive tapenade on crispy toasts was garlicy goodness. My entree was their Sunday Gravy - meatballs, sausage and a country spare rib that was cooking in their uncomplicated tomato sauce and served over a mountain of"

  • "Went to take advantage of the limited time comfort food menu. The macaroni and cheese with shrimp was delicious, but the portion was enough to feed three people. Would like to see That's Amore offer half size portions. The comfort food menu offered great options, and the butter cake desert was wonderful."

  • "I was disappointed first with the fact that there were several open tables yet we had to wait for our table to be cleaned. The red sauce was suprisingly very good. I got the veal parm which was over cooked and the breading fell right off. This leads me to believe that it wasn't fresh but actually frozen. The meat was very tough. Also if you are going to upcharge for gnocci make it homemade, they were undercooked and clearly store bought. My husband got the garlic and pancetta cream sauce with sausage over penne. It was flavorless. It had whole pieces of roasted garlic in it that was overwelming. The sausage was boiled. It was a basic cream sauce that they use with different additives for different dishes."

  • "I have had two outstanding meals at That's Amore. I went first with my husband and daughter and we were so pleased, I went back a few weeks later with 2 friends. After they tasted the Sunday gravy, we started making plans to come back with our husbands! We enjoyed a huge salad - big enough to share, our main courses, and we finished by sharing 2 scrumptious desserts. The apple cheesecake was exquisite! The servers were very polite and attentive. We will be back!"

  • "Calamari salad and homemade pasta was excellent. Seating was a little awkward because tables are close together. Remember me of Little Italy restaurants. Will definitely go again."

  • "Really great food and friendly service. The most unique pasta sauces are available and soups and salads are excellent. Try and save room for desert and if your lucky he will have a raspberry crumb cake to die for. One thing for sure is that Alfredo and his team do all they can to make your dinning experience the best."

  • "We chose this restaurant for a Friday night dinner after a recommendation from a friend, and loved it..Had a seat by the window, got there early and had a choice of seats, but when we left it was jam packed. Food was excellent, wait staff cute and appealing.. and food delicious.. The bread was a little disappointing.. I thought we would have some fancy italian bread or rolls, but in essence was just a loaf of italian bread..All in all was delicious..including deserts(which we shared), and the french pressed coffee...plan on going back.."

  • "we have visited multiple times and hoping this last one was just an off night. The space is still tight, service was the worst and it was so loud our family couldn't have a conversation because other families were so boisterous. The owner is usually very attentive, today-no. Food is still very good, maybe one day I can order my own dinner. (portions are very large and sharing is recommended-we usually order 2 entrees for 3 people and still take food home). My daughter still likes it , so we will be back, but I will be less excited"

  • "My wife and I love this place. The food is creative Italian. Wondrous ingredients mixed to make a delicious meal. Their gnocchi menus-they have a gnocchi month at times-are creative and amazing. A great place for a romantic dinner for two, they lavish attention on you; but also their Chef's Table for groups of 6 or more and fun and exciting. So much fun, That's Amore!"

  • "We have dined at That's Amore a number of times now. Always very please with service and food/desert selections. More than enough food and always have some to take home. Owner and staff are very nice and good to talk with. We will continue to recommend That's Amore to others. We appreciate this wonderful dining experience. Thanks"

  • "The food was amazing! The bread was freshly baked and the Sunday gravy is amazing. The signature appetizer of rice balls are delicious and so are the entrees. We were seated in the half empty restaurant and it was over 10 min until our server, Anthony, came over to us - this was only after the owner saw that we didn't have water or anything. He rushed us through ordering and only came back to the table once. We had to flag him down to ask for more water & he never brought us more bread. He checked on us once after our meals came out and then we waited over 20 minutes for him to come back. Finally, we had to get up and go to the owner to get our check. There were no apologies or anything. We weren't even offered dessert. Not good."

  • "We are locals in Collingswood and have been making the rounds to try all of Collingswood's many restaurants, as well as the surrounding area. That's Amore is by far our favorite place to eat. The food is great, we love the eclectic decor and down to earth waiters. Alfredo, the owner and chef, is always there and wants to know how we are enjoying the food, which is always delicious. We have taken many people from our family as well as various groups of friends there and everyone just loves it! Our favorite appetizer is the rice balls. Their Sunday gravy is great on everything. Great meatballs. The homemade pastas are excellent. The desserts are always different and always terrific. Bring your own bottle and come for some great food!"

  • "I have been here twice in the past 2 weeks. The first time we had a great meal & fabulous service. The portions are plentiful, & the taste is authentic. The second visit, was a true test, to see if our first meal was just a fluke. The place did not disappoint us, #2 was just as good as #!."

  • "Strolled by here while dining at another restaurant in the area, saw the big sign announcing "gnocchi month" and returned with our daughter as soon as her scheduled allowed and we were not disappointed. Alfredo the owner was very welcoming, our server Mallory was great, but it was clear they all helped each other out, which I like. The food was very good(be ready to share) and we enjoyed everything we had then and for the next few days. The down sides are it is a very tight space, but we were there early in the evening so it wasn't as much of an issue. Along with the space is timing, reservations are taken before 6 or after 8 on Friday and Saturday, so we will return just not during those times. Bring on "mac and cheese" month."

  • "This was our 1st time dining at That's Amore. Food was borderline excellent, service was very good as well. My only 'negative' observations would be, and this is just my personal preference, is that the restaurant was VERY small (I think it only holds about 50 or so), the tables were VERY close together, and therefore it was VERY noisy. Again, my personal preference is that I like my personal space, I don't like being on top of the people next to us. For that, I probably won't be back. In addition, to me a fine dining experience it should be relatively quiet. If you either don't mind or can get past the cramped quarters and the noise level, then the food was great. There were 4 of us, and everyone said they loved what they had."

  • "We have been coming here for a long time but this evening was the worst we have ever had. I ordered the pumpkin gnocci with chicken, mushrooms and marsala wine. It came without the chicken and when returned to the table had none of the pumpkin spice flavor that was present before it was replaced. It was bland!! For dessert we ordered key lime mousse but it waas more whipped cream than mousse. A very disappointed meal."

  • "That's Amore's meatballs and pasta sauce (AKA 'gravy') are better than Grandma's. They serve a generous portion of their homemade gravy on the side with their warm Italian bread, which is a meal in itself. Their salads and dinner portions are huge, definitely plenty of leftovers for the next day. Four of us shared the large field greens/goat cheese/walnut salad, and we couldn't finish it. The wait staff is very friendly, energetic, and helpfull with menu questions. The owner walks around and greets each table. If you are looking for a quiet, romantic date night restaurant, this is not the place. It is very noisy, but in a good, energetic way. If you're looking for good food and a friendly atmosphere, you will not be disappointed."
