This was our 3rd or 4th visit to That's Amore. We brought our out-of-town guests for dinner. Sadly, this was not their best showing. The veal was not hot when served and was chewy. The lasagna was served so hot that it was barely edible. Also the top layer of cheese was so gooey making this classic dish a disappointment. The side order of meatballs and sausage that came with lasagna, while tasty, were not hot...odd considering the main course was to hot. The calamari caesar salad was delicious, the bread was hot and fresh and the staff is very friendly.

As stated in other reviews, That's Amore is on the smaller side and a bit noisy, but once you taste the Rice ball app, and the bread with marinara, you forget about any minor inconvenience. My wife got the Sunday Gravy which came out in a bowl big enough for 2, and was out of this world. The manager/owner was super friendly, he met with a thank you for coming, and a handshake out the door. I dont know about you , but I am a sucker for great customer service, I will be back.

This was our first visit to That's Amore and after we were seated a few other tables around us were seated. They recieved bread, drinks and in one case, thier appetizer. We had to look for our waitress and had to ask for bread. Very disappointing start to dinner. I ordered a pasta dish and it was swimming in sauce. So much so it resembled soup instead of a pasta dish. I will admit it was tasty but would have preferred much less sauce.

We were excited to try That's Amore for the first time based on their menu and prices. Although their website did not state it, they extended restaurant week and the menu was limited. We were one of the first ones there and they wanted to seat us by the kitchen and seemed a little put out when I asked for a different table. Will try another restaurant in Collingswood next time.

The food and service were great, but the noise level was not energetic, it was just plain loud. The acoustics of the room make it difficult to even carry a coversation with the person next to you or across from you. With every table occupied, the noise level in the room made for an unpleasant dining experience. Once some people left, the level was tolerable. I recommend some acoustic panels on the ceiling, hanging tapestries on the walls or maybe some area rugs to absorb some of the sound.

We enjoyed our meal at That's Amore during a "Restaurant Week." Each course was delicious and well prepared, although some seemed as if they were smaller than non-RW times. The restaurant is in a storefront with ceiling fans that seem to only operate on High (server attempted to stop, but no intermediate settings. The tables are 2x2 split or combined for larger parties, so you are essentially sitting between and with two other parties. Really not a private dining experience. Depending on lane (ours was main traffic to the kitchen), you can expect to be bumped and brushed by passing servers throughout the meal. So the question, is good food worth the lack of ambiance, noise and confusion?

This was my first time and I had heard great things for years. We went during resturant week so it was 4 courses for $35. Everything was so good and tasty. We were stuffed when we left and my boyfriend had enough pasta left over for us to have it for dinner the next night. Highly recommend!

We had reservations and were seated right away. The food was great, bread was horrible. My date's side of pasta had water in the bottom of the bowl. We had to ask someone who wasn't our waitresses to give us drink refills. Also, a waitress came out of the kitchen flicking her hand to get water off and it hit us. Not professional. Positive notes: penne with pesto sauce is good and salted caramel cake is great.

First time here and we will definitely be back!! Brought friends from out of town and we all had outstanding meals. Everything from the salads to the garlic bread to the entrees was terrific. Jessica provided excellent service. Checked in with us the right amount to make sure we were enjoying everything and had what we needed. I would add that the entire staff really helps each other to make sure everyone has what they need. CAn't wait to come back again. Be prepared that it does get noisy, but the food was so good we were not bothered by the noise.

If you want to dine at a place with brown Caesar salad and food that is undercooked, this is your place. My party even pointed out the lettuce to our server, but she did nothing and left it on our bill. Another member was informed that the kitchen was out of veal, and that was more than 15 minutes after we ordered. Everyone's pasta sides and main dishes with pasta were still sticking together and undercooked. I would not recommend this restaurant for a Friday or Saturday. The staff may have been too busy to execute a normal Italian meal, let alone anything special.

We were sat immediately. The tables are very small & close together there was barely room for our food, one server banged into my purse everytime she walked by. We had never been there so I was not aware they were going to bring bread to the table. We ordered the Panzenella salad, it was a lot for only 2 people, it was good, a little overkill on the olive oil. About 30 seconds after it came out, we were served bread with red sauce. I wouldn't have ordered bread salad if I knew we were going to be served bread! The red sauce is delicious, I could drink it! The Chicken Franchaise was not very good, a few dry cutlets, not much sauce. My husband had a seafood special that he enjoyed. I may consider giving it another try someday.

We decided last week to pass through Collingswood for a late dinner since we were nearby. Were we very glad we did!! That's Amore was excellent. Some of the best Italian food we've had in years. The sauces were done to perfection and the meats were equally good. The only negative is the noise level. It was loud. But the food was so good, we didn't pay much attention to that one small issue. We have friends coming from the Midwest who want a taste of real South Jersey/Philly Italian. No second thoughts about where we'll bring them...gotta show them some 'Amore'!

Enjoyed the ambiance, the food and service once we were seated. But, I checked in at my reservation time with server/host and was told I would be called when a table was cleared. I went out front of the restraint to wait. About thirty minutes later after not being called I went back in and saw multiple empty tables. They forgot about me. They then set up a table. A little disappointed in that. Other than that gaffe, excellent experience.

My son tok me to That's Amore because of the convenient location. The location was the first of many perfect pieces of our experience. We were greated by the owner in his beautiful, quiet, charming restaurant on a corner with lots of windows. Our server presented the menu with several recommendations that we took advantage of. Our food came quickly and we loved everything we ordered, especially the rice balls! We met the chef who wanted our opinion on the tilapia - which was marvelous. Perfect mother - son dinner date. Thank you.

EXCELLENT!! everything about this place is amazing , even down to the dipping sauce for the bread!! The pasta entrees are HUGE portions... So try not to fill up on the bread, but the garlic bread with cheese is amazing and it comes with this tomato dipping sauce thats sooo good!! The service was great!!! & we went on a Saturday night!! Our waitress was awesome & the owner stopped by our table numerous times and was sooo incredibly friendly!! We will definitely go back again!! The restaurant itself is quite small so be prepared to sit close. But it makes it more intimate :). Definitely a GEM in amongst all the places to dine in Collingswood!!

I've been to That's Amore several times and can say they USED to be quite good - yummy food overall and the best "Sunday Gravy" Their prices have gone up but the food quality has gone down. My usual order of pasta with Sunday gravy was met with a obvious less tasty version. My friend ordered pasta with butternut squash, mushrooms and marsala wine. $18 for pasta and vegetables seemed a bit pricey - considering the squash was cut in very large chunks, semi-undercooked (usually it's bite sized) and was difficult to eat. She said the flavor wasn't as good as she remembered. The arichini was still delicious though. Honestly, I could have saved some cash by going to Olive Garden - as the quality was pretty much on par with them.

This was the first time we dined at this restaurant. We arrived early in the evening on a Thursday and the restaurant was pretty empty. The food was excellent, very generous portions . We splurged and had dessert which was out if this world. They are known for their cheesecake and I see why. Before we left a few more people came in. I think that because it was the start of a holiday weeknd (4th of July) that many people were heading to the shore . Will definitely return

Having been to most of the Collingswood Restaurants, it took a Gift Certificate to open my eyes to this GEM. BYOB of course. Owner/Chef spoke with us on his rounds The gnocchi were "to die for". We got a dinner order to split as an appetizer between four. We fought over licking the bowl. My Ossa Buca was a pork shank cooked for hours, a brown reduction gravy, couldn't finish it, but it was fabulous. A grilled vegi appetizer with toasted bread was very good. A tilapia dish and salmon were very good as well. The desserts blueberry cobbler with gelato and a cheesecake with peaches on top, all home made. Excellent. My first thought upon going home was to make a return reservation. We will be back. Recommend 6-6:30, calm and quiet.
