That's AmoreFantastic food once againIt's my 4th time at That's Amore, and I can't get over how tasty the food is. I got the Sunday Gravy meal again and it was just as amazing as the first time. After a few clicks online, we happened across the info for That's Amore. After reading several encouraging reviews, we decided to see for ourselves.
We were not disappointed. The food was excellent and the waitstaff polite and helpful. When we were on our way to a friend's house we saw their signs for "Lasagna Month" for the month of May. We only had a few days left in May, so I made a reservation, got a table and off we went! There were 5-6 Lasagnas to choose from.... Note: Lasagna is notably missing from their standard menu. I had the Eggplant Lasagna which was awesome and HUGE! Hubby had the Short Rib Lasagna which was equally HUGE and he also got a side of meatballs which were very tasty! We ordered a "fried pizza" for an appetizer and they also gave us bread and "gravy" for dipping. YOU DON'T NEED A BREAD-TYPE APPETIZER, as we found out. It's just too much! Next time, SALAD! I wish I would have found the restaurant sooner. .it was ravioli month and we both had the homemade ravioli. They were the best that I ever had (don't tell grandma).
There were over a dozen selections of stuffing and sauces. I had the braised short rib stuffed ravioli with vodka sauce and my guest had the broccoli rabe and sausage stuffed with garlic cream sauce.

The polenta in marinara was very good. Nice texture (if you like your polenta on the set side), good marinara and topped with just the right amount of mozzeralla. Our waitress was very friendly and accomodating. I loved the salmon dish that I had. My friend had the seafood raviol and said that it was the best ravioli that he ever had. His wife had talipia and my husband had chicken parmegian. The talapia looked wonderful. All the portions were generous. We couldn't get enough of the bread and "gravy" (some italians call sauch gravy) that was served before our meal. The food was excellent. I thought the first two courses could have been just a little bigger, but the entrées were a perfect size. The Osso Buco was AMAZING!! Tender and full of herbs and rich flavors. The risotto was also delicious. A couple of nice touches - coffee served in a French press, providing water in a carafe for the table, and having Alfredo (the owner/chef I believe) come to the table to introduce himself and shake our hands. Also, signups for a birthday club for free stuff. With so many great restaurants in Collingswood...these little extras make the restaurant stand out. I can't believe they have on the menu one of our favorite pasta's, rotini! Most Italian restaurants have the standard penne, spagetti, and gnocchi. They have every pasta made! The crusty warm bread is served with a cup of gravy aka sauce just like at grandma's house....oh so good! Then a must try is the rice balls with gravy and shaved parm cheese delicious! Our main courses were excellent chicken and veal. Portions were above average so you won't leave hungry like you would at some other Resaurants.
