ThaliaWe had a hamburger and grilledWe had a hamburger and grilled shrimp which were delicious. Portions are generous. For dessert, we shared a molten chocolate lava cake with pistachio ice and dulce de leche ice cream-delicious!6/13/2013 12:00:00 AMPre theatreAlways in a quandary to find a decent place to eat in the theatre district!
Checked Zagat and it was top 5 choice. Well, I can see why! Delish!
My salmon special was out of this world! The sushi amazing and truly

As thrilled with Thalia. You won't be disappointed! Yum!6/12/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways reliableI've been going to Thalia for a long time now and they always satisfy. The service is super-friendly but not intrusive. They are willing to accommodate food allergies. I love sitting at the bar to just drink and have a drink. Totally recommended.6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMTables very close togetherTables very close together and noise level noisy good food and great service6/5/2013 12:00:00 AMThalia is always dependable:Thalia is always dependable: nice ambience, good food, convenient to Broadway.6/2/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat option close to Wicked playThalia had a nice environment and hip vibe. It is a block or so away from Gershwin Theatre--so it was an ideal place to eat before watching Wicked.5/30/2013 12:00:00 AMEveryone enjoyed the lunch.Everyone enjoyed the lunch. My husband couldn't stop complimenting the food that we ate and that's not like him. Our daughter also felt the same way. The service was terrific. It's a great place and it never fails to please. I have been there many times, but this was the first time for my husband and daughter. We will all return.5/29/2013 12:00:00 AMTimes Square area gem11 am brunch reservation gave us the prime table near the windows. Not sure there are any "bad" tables. Lovely interior - attentive service - wonderful food. Creme brulee french toast was awesome! Had wanted to sit outside, but found the Hop On Hop Off buses make their regular stops right in front and there was always a bus in residence - didn't want to spend the leisurely morning inhaling fumes so opted for inside table. Easy walk to Shubert Alley for matinee.5/26/2013 12:00:00 AMPerfect for Pre-TheaterWe chose Thalia as our meeting place for dinner before a special theater evening. We were not disappointed inthe least. Our server asked if we had plans after dinner and paced our meals perfectly to reach our show in time. She made some great suggestions for our meals and provided stellar service. We left Thalia raving about a wonderful dining experience.5/20/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat BrunchMet frieds for Saturday brunch, as it was convenient to their Hilton Hotel. Very impressed with the quality and experience, for a tourist location spot. Had the Atlantic Eggs Benedict and great Bloody Mary.5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMThalia is always a sure thingThe food is consistently good and inventive. I love the old art posters on the walls. Good location, good food and attentive service.5/13/2013 12:00:00 AMWe are from Dallas and haveWe are from Dallas and have eaten at Thalia several times. The food is always predictably good. There were four of us that ordered three different entrees. My wife, and one of our friends, had a sea bass special which they each ordered with a different doneness. My wife likes her fish done and flakey. Each was to their liking. I had seafood pasta special that was excellent and I don't remember what ou other guest had but, she thought it was very good. My wife ordered a salad with dressing on the side and it came swimming in the dressing. I'm sure our waitress would have corrected the mistake but we didn't want to make a big deal out of it. The dressing issue is the only thing that kept our food rating from being a 5.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat after Broadway dinnerClose to Gerschwin Theater so we found this on our stroll back to the hotel from "Wicked" on broadway. Very good steak for myself and my daughter raved about the salmon. Would return on my next trip to NYC.5/9/2013 12:00:00 AMFabulous Lunch before the TheatreWhenever we go to NYC for the day, we always stop at Thalia for lunch. Great food at a good price and the option of getting a flight of wine with the prix fixe. The oysters are always fresh and tasty. Also, we arrived half an hour early on a rainy day and the restaurant not only let us in before opening to wait in the lounge, they also rearranged our reservation and seating us upon officially opening the restaurant. Quite remarkable!5/8/2013 12:00:00 AMEnjoyable Theater District SpotBeen here twice in the past few weeks. First for drinks and then for dinner. Creative cocktail list altho seats are a bit low in the lounge area. Dined pre-theater and thoroughly enjoyed the zucchini as pasta dish. Others enjoyed the Papparedelle with lamb ragu.5/8/2013 12:00:00 AMbrunchMy husband I were at Thalia's for brunch with my son celebrating his birthday before the theatre. We had a table for 3 and were stuck in the middle of the traffic of waiters and waitresses. It would have been more relaxing if we had a table truly meant for 3. Otherwise we enjoyed Thalia's again.5/5/2013 12:00:00 AMBrunch SpotThalia is a great spot for brunch with a group. They have a great deal with their $10 all you can drink for 2 hours and the most important thing is that they are quick on the refill! I would recommend the omelet's, especially the proscuitto one. I would for sure recommend it!5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMa mustI love this place, one of my fav for the theatre district.
Great oysters, and the oyster happy hour ($1 frim 7-11) just cant beat it.
I had the short rib, u dont need a knife its so tender.5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMGot in a little early to enjoyGot in a little early to enjoy happy hour prior to dinner, the bar was really small and the fit tight. That made for a little anxiety, though the service given the difficulty with the space was great. Young lady there was bubbly and excellent5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMWe went for a pre theaterWe went for a pre theater dinner and found the meal to be very good, the service excellent and the restaurant very accommodating. I called to say that I was going to be late due to heavy traffic and they told me not to worry and they would hold the table for me until I was able to get there.4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMBrunch at Thalia is a joy!!Brunch at Thalia is a joy!! Thalia's did not disappoint!4/10/2013 12:00:00 AMTheater District GEM!Great dining spot in the theater district prior or after seeing a show.
Pre-Fix menu is always a plus when we dine offering a nice selection to chose from.
Salmon was delicious and cooked perfectly along with the delicious salad ending with tasty cheesecake and a chocolate dessert.
Great portions served in a lovely, nicely laid out dining room.
Upper tier banquette seating is quiet and very comfortable.
Our server Kiley was wonderfully friendly, attentive and spot on with a smile at all times and she actually helped us so pleasantly with our menu-wine choices.
:)4/9/2013 12:00:00 AMWe went to Thalia's twiceWe went to Thalia's twice while in NYC. We arrived late on Sunday night and our hotel suggested we give it a try. The food was surprisingly good. Roast chicken on a bed is spinach, Caesar salads with a good-sized portion of perfectly cooked salmon. The staff was friendly and efficient. It seemed loud on a Sunday night at 11, so you may need to shout to be heard if you go when it is busier. We went for lunch a few days later and had another good meal. Service again was prompt. A great spot for pre- or post-show dining or if you are in Times Square neighborhood for lunch and want to avoid the tourist trap chains4/3/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had yet another reallyWe had yet another really nice meal at the Thalia. The food there is always outstanding as was the service on a busy Friday night. Thanks, Thalia, for a great dining experience. We'll be back.3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMThalia is my go-to restaurantThalia is my go-to restaurant in the Theatre District, mostly because of it's non-thetre district feel. It has the beauty and elegance of a five star restaurant, a diverse menu and consistently delicious food. The staff is always greets you as if you are an old friend. The wait staff is very professional, friendly and knowledgable. You can linger over your meal or tell your server you have tickets and they will have you comfortable fed in time for your show.
If you are looking for an interesting menu, excellent service and a charming ambiance, you will find it at Thalia.3/28/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways a favorite ...the staffAlways a favorite ...the staff is friendly but can be somewhat forgetful (no dressing on the salad, please) but- hey-this is a big, busy restaurant. Prices are reasonable, nice ambiance, and not so far from the theater district that it can't be a pre-theater destination. (We got to Thalia at 6:15 and made our 8 pm show with time to spare.3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMexcellent pre and post theatreVery good food, really accommodating service for a pre-theatre dinner, excellent location. We'll come back3/21/2013 12:00:00 AMFantastic pre-theatre meal.Fantastic pre-theatre meal. We had oysters, seared scallops, butternut squash puree, lamb shank that was fabulous. Only questionable dish was the Burrata and Heirloom Tomatoes, which was served over a pesto-prosciutto combo; the pesto overpowered the subtlety of the burrata.3/21/2013 12:00:00 AMHow'd they do those eggs?I had the blue point oysters on the half shell, arugula salad, then the country ham breakfast. You get a basket of assorted breads & muffins that are really good - but no butter? . The "sunny side up" eggs were amazing, I'm not sure what they did to get that flavor or if the eggs were just extremely fresh, but I'm anxious to go back to see if they can repeat that win! Bottomless Bloody Mary - very good flavor, not too sweet nor too spicy, just right with two olives. Very attentive service, even though I was a table of one in a crowded restaurant. My new favorite pre-theater restaurant, especially for matinees!3/17/2013 12:00:00 AMA delicious findWe enjoyed our birthday gift of brunch @Thalia
Everything was perfect and it was well located
For our Sunday matinee show which was just
A few blocks away.We enjoyed our delicious
Meal.3/17/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Brunch! We went to Thalia for brunch on the recommendation of a friend. We were visiting from out of town and were looking for a great place for brunch. Everything was delicious...Eggs Benedict, Fritta, and Strawberry Pancakes and came with a choice of free Mimosa, Bloody Mary or juice.3/17/2013 12:00:00 AMA pleasant surprise! We were pleasantly surprised by Thalia. We went on a Saturday night. They had $1 oysters which I cautiously tried thinking they would be "cheap." They weren't - they were excellent! We really enjoyed the rest of the meal too. My lamb shank fell off the bone and had a great butternut squash risotto on the side. My wife enjoyed the crabcake and a tomato and mozzarella salad, loaded with delicious buffalo style mozzarella. Pricing was very reasonable, having spent twice as much elsewhere for comparable quality. Atmosphere gets a bit vibrant at times but wasn't distractingly so for us.3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMWe went to NYC for a SaturdayWe went to NYC for a Saturday matinee and were looking for a non-chain restaurant in the theater district. I found Thalia online and we were not disappointed! We arrived early for our reservation and were seated within 5 minutes of arrival. Our server was excellent--attentive and prompt but not at all overbearing. The atmosphere was hip and lively. Food was great! My friend and I had the excellent fish special and my husband very much enjoyed the iceberg salad with bacon dressing. I would highly recommend this restaurant!3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMGREAT THEATRE DISTRICT RESTAURANTWe had a pre-theatre prix fixe dinner at Thalia. The restaurant itself is located in the theatre district and was very close to both our hotel and the show we were attending.
The decor was striking with soaring ceilings, classic theatre posters, a large inviting bar and tall supporting columns with niches displaying votive lights and art work. The music was pleasant and not overbearing.
The staff were all very friendly and welcoming. They were also conscious of the time constraints of attending the theatre and served our food efficiently but not hurriedly.
The food itself was just delicious. For the first course we enjoyed the creamy polenta (rich with mushrooms and a red wine reduction) and the soup special (carrot-ginger - served steam3/12/2013 12:00:00 AMMy girlfriend and I were goingMy girlfriend and I were going to a play on Broadway and wanted to have dinner beforehand. This restaurant was recommended by a few people and we liked what we saw on the menu. The staff was very nice and friendly and the food was brought to us quickly and was very good. Drinks were very nice and the prices were not unreasonable at all. We will definitely eat there again.3/11/2013 12:00:00 AMWe love Thalia! The food isWe love Thalia! The food is excellent, especially Sunday Brunch, and the service exquisite. One dollar oysters (chef's choice) from 7-10pm are a wonderful treat. We go back every time we're in the city.2/26/2013 12:00:00 AMNice selection of oystersNice selection of oysters and a great drink and wine list. Entrees and desserts were very good. It's unlikely one would be disappointed with Thalia.2/23/2013 12:00:00 AMWhat a wonderful pre-theaterWhat a wonderful pre-theater lunch! The menu was varied, including breakfast-style entrees as well as sandwiches, salads, and lunch choices. Brunch includes one drink, which is a nice touch. The space is lovely: rich, warm colors, lofty ceilings, and pretty decorations. Service was good, allowing us to relax but available when we needed something. Crab cake and lobster roll sandwiches were both very tasty. I'll definitely be back.1/12/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat place for brunch inGreat place for brunch in the theater district. Everything was fresh and tasty.1/6/2013 12:00:00 AMThe service was excellentThe service was excellent as were the dishes we ordered ( party of 7). Our only complaint was dessert. We all ordered ice cream which was served with biscotti. All the flavours were filled with ice and the biscotti was soft and not very good. However, when we told our waitress about the ice cream the manager came over and said that the ice creams were taken off the bill.
ON the whole we enjoyed our experience at the restaurant.12/24/2012 12:00:00 AM
