I had the whole fish. Striped
bass. It was very simply prepared unfortunately not hot enough. The appetizers were a bit to complex for my taste. I would not reorder the stuffed calamari. The desert was amazing. The service was outstanding. Overall the experience was very good but wouldn't rush back anytime soon."

Thalassa is a great place to go to
for quiet conversation, delicious food and wonderful cocktails. They have a very good prix fix menu as well as an extensive ala' carte menu. And when you leave, you are presented with a small wax paper bag filled with delicious cookies. How good is that?"
Dined on 3/5/2014
Good food, fresh fish well
prepared, brusque but efficient service, decor a bit overdone."
Dined on 3/4/2014
Food was very good, but service
was excellent. Very nice place and great cocktails too. Definitely going back soon."

This restaurant is one of my
favorites. The food is outstanding and all dishes were perfectly prepared. Each dish has great flavors and a nice element of surprise. The service is excellent. We enjoyed all courses and even got to sample a complementary appetizer."
Dined on 2/19/2014
Fantastic food, ambiance and
service. Definitely going back."
Dined on 2/20/2014
We really enjoyed our food and our
specialty drinks. There were so many great menu choices to choose from, that we can not wait to go back. the grape leaves and the quinoa appetizer were just great"
Dined on 2/7/2014
We were completely satisfied with
our dinner at Thalassa. The fish is impeccable. Highly recommended appetizers, scallops and octopus. Dessert was devine. Excellent wines. We will definitely return."
Dined on 2/8/2014
This is a totally over-rated,
ridiculously expensive restaurant. None of the dishes were special, none of the ingredients were exceptiona. The service was over-bearing. And, magically, in an almost empty restaurant they put the three parties at adjoining tables. Stupid. I'll never return.l"

What an experience! Freshest
seafood i've ever tasted. Impeccable service, they made us feel like royalty."
Dined on 1/27/2014
This is my favorite restaurant in
Tribeca. Whether I go for a quiet dinner out or a special occasion, it's special every time--food and service are both impeccable. This time I went with a group of 7, and my guests were all very impressed!"
Dined on 1/30/2014
I chose this place because it was
close to my boyfriend's apartment and convenient for us to get to. The ambience is super nice and the staff is friendly the moment you walk in. We chose the $38 pre-fixed and were very happy that everything was delicious. The octopus as the first course was cooked to perfection. We also received complimentary salmon tartare, dessert wine and a few pieces of chocolate. It was very nice and unexpected. Our server had to be one of the best servers we had in NYC and we go out a lot. This is the first time I rated a place with 5 stars. We are definitely going back!"

Very hip scene plus delicious food
and great service."
Dined on 7/26/2013
The food was excellent. Staff was
really accommodating. The restaurant is beautiful!"
Dined on 1/8/2014
My favorite neighborhood
restaurant--wonderful food, ambience, and service!"
Dined on 1/3/2014
Not sure if the restaurant is
normally fine, but NYE was a mess. Our table was forgotten for 30 minutes, despite multiple requests to find a waiter made to various specialists - the water-bringing specialist, the bread-bringing specialist, the bus-boy specialist. The maitre-de responded very very well to that, but then: the food. The food was remarkably poor - all courses. Greek food can be wonderfully good. This wasn't"

Thalassa has fresh, delicious sea
food, served by knowledgable waitstaff in an elegant dining room. I especially like that any one of the waitstaff will help you. There is no, "let me get your waiter" mentality. The owners are there regularly, know their customers, know their product."
Dined on 12/27/2013
Very good food, good price, very
good service and very good ambience, it is ideal to celebrate something special. Good job Thalassa!!"
Dined on 12/24/2013
Excellent seafood selection,
attentive hosts, list of Greek wines. Made my father extremely happy."
Dined on 12/24/2013
Chose this restaurant because we
love fresh Greek fish and vegetables. Walked out vowing to never return. The service was abrupt and aggressive. The food was mediocre. And the wine list limited to only very expensive bottles (the $100 of French was sold out--so I had to reach to $159). This is not a place for a quick meal. If you need to be in Tribeca and must have Greek, you can subject yourself. But, with so many great Greek restaurants in NY, jump on the subway and head uptown--where the food and wine are both better and more affordable--and avoid this Trojan Horse."

A bit expensive; portions
small. Inside decor is striking; very romantic; quiet"
Dined on 11/29/2013
wonderful greek food great service
Dined on 11/23/2013
Waiter was super attentive and the
food was top notch. The seafood is exceptionally fresh and our overall dinner experience was well paced and very enjoyable. Will definitely be back soon."
Dined on 11/22/2013
Exceptional dining with a Greek
flair. Some of the portions are small plates great for tasting for two, The service, well...equally attentive and accommodating, This was at 7PM on a Saturday, when we left Thalassa there were no empty seats. Highly recommended"
Dined on 11/16/2013
This was my first time there and
every aspect of my dining experience was absolutely wonderful. I will be returning shortly,"
Dined on 11/14/2013

good food and ambiance"

Excellent food in a lovely
atmosphere with attentive service."
Dined on 11/13/2013
Go for Octopus ap, seafood with
pasta excellent and lavraki (amazing)"
Dined on 11/9/2013
I don't understand why this
restaurant wasn't completely full; perhaps Tuesday nights are slow. But every single bite of food we put in our mouths was excellent."
Dined on 11/5/2013
Food was fresh and tasty! The
Branzino was prepared perfectly. Great wine list!"
Dined on 11/3/2013
Loved the setting and the design
of the place. Food was very good and it was blissfully loud enough so that you could hear your dining companions. Missed some of the old traditional Greek standbys though--tarama, fried manouri, etc."
Dined on 11/3/2013
Milos wannabe...don't take gluten
allergies into consideration; older crowd; good for 60 year old neighborhood diners; small portions; tasty but not amazing as Milo's in midtown but def a copy of their menu selections and the fresh seafood setup."
Dined on 11/2/2013
An elegant, sultry environment to
enjoy wonderful upscale greek food. Stand outs include the grilled octopus, seafood with orzo, dover sole and all desserts. Wine list is extensive, staff wonderful, knowledgeable and inviting."
Dined on 10/19/2013
Although it was their first Sunday
opened for dinner, they sure did have their act together! First off, the decor was amazing - unique, open-spaces (yet cozy/romantic) and extremely clean-and-crisp. The ambience was perfect. I LOVED the live, Greek music. The food was great from the amazing octopus app, to the white-fish entrees we had. I thoroughly enjoyed the cheese plate, olives and hummus they provide complimentary, as well as the wine - a nice touch, and great immediate 'starter' for someone who was quite hungry walking in. I really don't have anything negative to say about my experience. I will be going back, 100%."
Dined on 10/14/2013
We've been to Thalassa twice and
will go again. This is authentic and delicious Greek food. The fresh fish is especially good. The waiter was great. When I asked for a recommendation on white wine, he steered us to a Greek white that was the least expensive bottle on the menu and it was perfect! From Santorini."
Dined on 10/8/2013
Outstanding experience all around.
Beautiful room, attentive and friendly service (without being invasive or too formal) and simply delicious food from starters to dessert. The tartare trio was a wonderful app shared by three of us. My lamb shank was tender, flavorful, fall off the bone good. And our host kept bringing us complimentary tastes and sips - an amuse bouche, Greek dessert wine, and chocolates and sweetcake afterwards. Throw in a talented jazz guitarist softly playing classic rock ballads while you dine and you're in Hellenic nirvana."
Dined on 10/3/2013
I took two clients out for dinner.
There was a party going on downstairs which made it impossible to talk without yelling. The food was very good though. Usually the restaurant is empty during the week but the night we went they had a function downstairs. The noise traveled upstairs. That took away from our dining experience."
Dined on 9/26/2013
Such a beautiful restaurant.
Service was outstanding! Brought guests to impress, and they were definitely impressed. Must try the Octopus!"
Dined on 9/7/2013
was barely edible. I was
embarrassed that I had suggested the restaurant"
Dined on 9/8/2013
Our guests from Washington DC
enjoyed the fabulous seafood & lamb chops. Appetizers were great and tasty. Price was truly great deal among fancy restaurants in the area. My friends from Texas will come to try this restaurant after recommendations from DC friends."
