  • "The food was outstanding. Had the tenderloin, cooked perfectly, juicy, tender. The burnt corn is really unusual but really good. Cole slaw was as good as I can remember. My daughter had the tenderloin, said it was the best steak she had in at least four to five years. Met the owner who came around visiting tables. Truly a fine gentleman. Mr. Wanstat (sp?) obviously cares very much about the diners experience. I hear he is there most every night. This was my second visit and will not be my last. The bartender whipped up a great sangria, though not on the drink menu."

  • "Both visits order came out wrong. Waiter made us feel cheap because we only ordered the cheeseburgers with fries. Husband’s with NO ONIONS. Last visit husband ordered burger no onions w/regular fries. I had the same with onions/ sweet potatoes fries. Plates came out we both started on the fries then I took a few bites of my burger, noticed on onions on mine and my husband’s had onions. They took the plates back gave me his old burger cold with our old fries and a new burger with no onions for him. I had to ask for bread while we waited for the new plates and they gave us a small piece to share. Bill came to $33.46 left a $6.00 tip. They did not offer to comp my husband’s soda, or dessert. This will be our last visit to the Texas."

  • "Love this place! It is pricey but, the food and service is excellent! We have been there 6 times and have been satisfied with each visit. From the time you come through the front door you feel like welcomed. The staff works well with one another and helping to ensure that every table is tended. This last visit we used the online reservation and it worked out great. We were celebrating an anniversary and birthday combo and wrote that one the reservation and they were ready for us and made it very special from beginning to the end!"

  • "Set reservation. Arrived to an open table waiting for us but every other table was packed and the bar was overflowing. Noise level was through the roof. They may have been understaffed as we waited a while for anyone to come talk to us. The a diff person came out to serve drinks, a 3rd person took our order, a 4th brought us our food, a 5th came out to see how it was tasting. Asked for a refill as the prior 3 people saw them empty glass but were in too much of a hurry to fill it. Then we were left alone so I had to go to bar to get someone to get bill and pay. Not sure which of the 6 people I delay with got the tip. Maybe they split it. I like the food but maybe it was a busy day"

No special dessert for husband's 60th celebration. Put auto gratuity on bill. Will not return for special occasions"

  • "My wife and I visited Texas after our daughter suggested we go there. The food was excellent. For appetizers I had the Onion Rings which were not greasy but were lightly breaded with a crisp coating with the onions cooked just right. My wife had Crabcake Croustades and raved about them. I had the sweet potato jalapeno soup which my daughter said I had to try. The soup is an interesting mixture of flavors I enjoyed it and will have it again. For our main dish I had the Delmonico Steak with Peppercorn Sauce my wife had the Filet Mignon both were cooked to perfection the sides were great. We had no room for desert. Needless to say we will go back again. We fully enjoyed our visit."

  • "We celebrated our anniversary with another couple and their two sons, who were trying out Texas for the first time. The Bang Bang Shrimp and Crabcake Croustades were tasty with just the right amount of spiciness for our adventurous palettes. The Scottish Salmon was delicious and not too fishy as prepared in other restaurants. The Lobster Thermidor was perfectly cooked and seasoned. The Texas Redfish was broiled to perfection and gently seasoned. The flash-fried chicken was tender and juicy. We had a chandelier-full of 8 desserts. Our favorite was the warm bread pudding. The experience was topped off by visits by the FABULOUS magician, Dale W., and various wait staff / greeters."

  • "The owner was there and heard it was our first time to dine and he came over to welcome us and told us he hoped we had a nice meal and that we enjoyed our experience there. That meant a lot to use for him to be there and take time to come over to speak to us. Our meal was very nice and it was a nice treat for Father's Day to my husband."

Sides were OK, not as great as I expected. My only real complaint is the food portions were a bit small for the price. But overall a good place to dine."

  • "We were greeted by the hostess who gave my wife a rose because it was her birthday. The food was excellent - fom the appitizer to dessert. I had the 8oz Filet Migon and it was done to perfection, my wife had the Sea Bass and she said it was very good. My only regret was the magician was absent for our dining experience, we saw him briefly at one table butneve saw him again, perhaps it was a disappearing trick. h=The staff brought my wife a special cake with a birthday candle on it. All in all it was a pleasurable dinner and the atmposphere was just right. Definetly will be returning."

  • "I made the reservation for 7 people for my birthday dinner. We started with appetizers (Bang Bang Shrimp, BBQ Chicken Flatbread and Devil's Tongue which is beef tenderloin on toast points) and all were delicious. My husband and I split an entree of Filet Medallions with burnt corn and potatoes which was excellent and cooked exactly as we wanted. The two wines we chose were also excellent. We ended with a chocolate cake with chocolate sauce for dessert and it was also wonderful. The owner comes around and talks to everyone which was nice. They have a very good magician who comes to your table and does tricks that will amaze. Wonderful evening."

  • "The food was good and service excellent a always. We were offered to sit on the patio and since it was a nice night we agreed. We were wondering why we were the only ones on the patio and then... We were visited by several gnats, a fly and several mosquitos. Which we were tolerating event with a few mosquito bits until the smokers arrived. We skipped desert and headed home."

  • "Owner Dale Wamstad has a personality as big as Texas, and his restaurant Texas is right in line with this restaurant legend. My wife and I enjoyed dinner at Texas last Saturday night. The main dining room was around 90% full and Dale was working the room. We started with their beef crostinis and they were tasty. My wife had their salmon salad, while I enjoyed a half rack of their ribs, served with beans and cole slaw. I found that I was getting full quite quickly, which is a rare occasion, all to say that a half rack is enough food for most appetites. Dale and his family are excellent hosts and we will return again soon to share Texas with our sons."

  • "Ordered a Filet medium well, it came out charred on the outside and over half pink on the inside, no flavor. Wife agreed no flavor. Wife had chicken, wasn't anything special. Vegetables not great like you would expect in this type restaurant. We were never asked how the food was. Waiter was very nice but not available for service much. Waiters standing around in a group a lot by the kitchen. They gave my wife a rose and a free dessert for our anniversary. We would not go back."

  • "My colleague and I went to Texas to enjoy a typical local steak. We weren't disappointed with it's tenderness or taste. Plus the meal comes with two small side dishes which were very good. The best choice was to order the largest Filet Mignon and then split the dish between the two of us. Can't speak for others, but the half-portion was good enough for us, and a good value. No split charge. We ate in the bar and were able to enjoy the large HDTVs with multiple sports offerings. the Magic Show tableside is a nice touch and fun."
