Texas French BreadCool neighborood faveThis is one of our Austin favorites. Great prices, neighborhood ambience, friendly service, and the best wine list in town (BYOB, which is hard to find in the great state of Texas). Saw the owner of Chez Nous eating there the other night. They serve locally sourced French bistro cuisine at great prices. We don't eat there during the day, but on weekends they turn it into a gourmet heaven. They even have good stemware for your bottle! I am hesitant to talk this up too much, as I like being able to get in without a wait, but this really is a great place. Whether it's eating out with carnivore friends or vegetarian, they have something for everyone.5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMOne of my favoritesI love love love this restaurant. The food consistently blows me away and they are incredibly friendly and attentive. The fact that it's tucked away in a north campus neighborhood and lit entirely by candles makes it have a cozy intimate feel. Great for dates or just for a random Tuesday. I can't rave about it enough.5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMFarm to tableTFB is one of my favorite neighborhood spots. The food is always what's in season and fresh from local farms and their desserts are amazing. I also love that it's BYOB. You won't be disappointed.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMWe came here to celebrateWe came here to celebrate a special occasion and it was exactly what we had hoped for: an intimate, unpretentious spot with excellent food and a locals-only feel. The service was helpful and friendly and made the evening even more pleasant. Will be back soon and won't wait for another special occasion next time. Thank you, it was a great evening!3/20/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat classic country French,Great classic country French, with local fresh produce and meats. BYOWine makes it specially attractive3/20/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful food and service.Wonderful food and service. We are made to feel very much at home at Texas French Bread.3/15/2013 12:00:00 AMA neighborhood GEM!!!This was our first time at TFB but it will not be our last. We shared the mussels as an appetizer (ask for more bread to soak up the broth). I had pork milanese (fork tender) while my wife had the pot-au-feu. All of our food was perfectly prepared, hot, and delicious. Check their website for changing menus. One word of warning though. TFB does not have a liquor license (actually a good thing) so BYOB. Wine choices in the surrounding convenience stores are very limited.1/18/2013 12:00:00 AMWeekly menu is locally sourced.Weekly menu is locally sourced. TFB supports local farms/artisans as well as any restauran in Austin, so much that the menu is not extensive but is always interesting. Attentive but laid back service. It's BYOB but not to worry, there is a store across the street for beer & wine. Great desserts. The butterscotch budino is a must.1/1/0001 4:00:00 PM
