Diner Reviews
  • "I only go to Fogo de Chao, but this place had better reviews for the San Antonio locations. I wish we didn't. There are fewer meats than Fogo and Texas de Brazil had mashed potatoes at your table instead of fried polenta. Not authentic at all. The biggest food disappointment was the pan de queijo. Whoever made them in the kitchen obviously has never had authentic pan de queijo. They were too small, very dense, and lacking in cheese. Normally these are golf ball sized and airy. There were also women servers, which Fogo doesn't have because women are never servers in Brazil. The service was terrible. Our waitress rarely checked on us. It was such an insult that she said "Here's your cheesy bread." IT IS CALLED PAN DE QUEIJO!"

  • "I took my wife here for our 9 year anniversary. We loved it! I have told all of my close friends about the great service, food, atmosphere and overall experience. We were very pleased with everything they had to offer. Our server was the best. He explained how the restaurant worked and was very courteous. We are already planning when we can return."

  • "Food was great especially the lobster bisque! Waitress was very professional and informative. We even got to see a little 'performance' right before leaving!"

  • "Awesome Salad bar and great meat choices! I did feel that our server was in to much of a hurry to clear plates from our table."

  • "Meats were outstanding. Nothing was labeled at the salad bar or soup station. Would have liked more roasted veggie options than peppers. Potato sides were uninspired. Make smashed potato special if you can."

  • "This was my families first time to eat at Texas de Brazil. Everything was excellent. Food, service and atmosphere were far above the line. One small hint, if you have never been there, make sure your server explains the details of how everything works (slowly) so you will know what to do. Our server gave us instructions so quickly we weren't sure what to do at first. Overall, no complaints....just awesome!"

  • "With this restaurant, you can get what you pay for. Averaging around $50 per plate, it's a good thing it's all you can eat. They have an excellent salad bar, and the lobster bisque is simply to die for, but the real star here is all the grilled meat. I'd advise holding to one bowl of soup, skipping the salad bar, and just going for the grilled meat. I believe there are 17 different cuts to be sampled. Everyone has their favorites, and there is probably something for everyone. The staff is incredible, the food is outstanding, and the atmosphere is just amazing."

  • "when you go to texas de brazil you better be hungry. their salad bar is extensive. also try the lobster bisque.the meat selection is plentiful. my favorites are the picania, the lamb chops and the beef ribs. and if you have room left, try. their deserts ... especially the papaya cream.if you are bringing first time guest make sure that you ask of the main dining room so that they can watch the wine angel perform. we like to take out of town visitors to texas de brazil for a special experience."

  • "While searching for an upscale Easter lunch, Texas de Brazil's name appeared on a list of nicer restaurants in San Antonio. Well-staffed and nicely appointed, we were among the first to be seated, visit the salad bar and enjoy the roving waiters with swords filled with roasted meats. The service was top-notch, particularly for my wife who is gluten-free. The manager even walked her around the various salad bar offerings to explain which items contained gluten and which didn't, which my wife apprediated. Overall, the food was terrific. The service was the best. The atmosphere and timing was perfect. The price was surprisingly in line with some of the other traditional holiday brunch offerings at the Omni, Hyatt and other restaurants. "

  • "This was our first time to this type of restaurant and we were very pleased by the experience and the food. My only recommendation is do not fill-up with the decadent salad bar or you will be unable to enjoy the variety of all the meats."

  • "Man every 3 seconds we had the servers show up with delicious cuts of meat and it was all extremely delicious. It was the first time that my family and I had been to this place and we were floored thinking we wouldn't have enough food really put a hurt on us when we couldn't keep up. My dad and I can eat giant steaks without blinking and I, but even we had to tap out shortly after starting. A word to the wise eat light all day if ur going to this place. As well as if ur a serious conivore stay away from the salad bar. The have 13 different cuts of meats I think I only had 11 and my dad had 9 or 10 so be ready to eat."

  • "Keeping this simple: although we made a reservation we had to wait another 30 minutes past it. However, when we finally got our table, our server was really prompt, kept making sure our drinks were refreshed and she made solid food recommendations. The food, especially the meat selections were hot, delicious, and never ending! It was an important family celebration and the restaurant overall didn't disappoint."

  • "The food was tasty but the experience was the highlight. There wine selection was spectacular with a wine angel choosing the wine bottles on a wire giving a show each time a bottle was requested. There was a large party near us and the noise level was so loud it was difficult to have a discussion with my husband across the table."

  • "Wife and I enjoyed a night together in this wonderful restaurant. I felt a little over dressed compared to the other diners, however, they were under dressed for the atmosphere. Sangria was awesome. Bought the VIP diner card because, I will be back."

  • "Several previous reviews of Texas de Brazil in San Antonio were negative about lack of attention, few number of visits to the table by meat servers etc etc. First the salad bar is awesome and I'm not usually focused on salad bars. The bar had every thing imaginable including $15/pound prociutto, lobster bisque, palm hearts and hundreds of more items. I may go back there just for the $24 open salad bar. Now the price for me, a person well beyond my years of being able to eat like a colleg kid, the $45 dinner/salad bar price was way high as I'm sure I ate less than half that in pure value. However, what I had was awesome. All the meat was perfectly prepared and had more attention from waitors/servers than you can imagine. U Need to go."

  • "we thought the service was very rushed and un-personal, almost bordering on manic. waiters were rushing around serving people, never refilled our water glasses, had to ask twice for things, not very good service."

  • "We dined here after the closing night performance of GHOST: THE MUSICAL at the Majestic Theater. Everything was absolute perfection, from the vast variety of the salad/soup bar to the succulent meats, the flawlessly mixed cocktails & wine selection, the beautiful wine angel and our server Holly who helped make the entire night shine. The lamb was superb! The lobster bisque was exceptional. Special mention must be paid to the bartender who is not only a sweetheart, he makes a mean chocolate martini! We will return over and over, guaranteed."

  • "Texas de Brazil stands out in it's niche. The restaurant is extremely attractive, service is excellent, and the food is first class. Other restaurants with a similiar theme don't seem to "pop" like Texas de Brazil. The salad bar, with it's signature lobster bisque, is always fresh and overflowing with ingredients for any taste. Extras, like real bacon and mint sauce, are always present. While we didn't have "exotic" drinks (a house Magarita and White Russian), the bar turned out two superb cocktails. Well done! We'll be back!"

  • "Sister's birthday, visiting from the UK we wanted to do something special. Dinner was wonderful. Great salad bar, and the meats were done perfectly. At one point waiters bringing the meat were missing our section. But after calling attention to that they overwhelmed us with service. Highly recommend this restaurant for the meat-eater."

  • "Great food. Waiters are ok..Not the best. Those serving the food are great and patient. They nickle and dime ever which way they can. Most places dont charge you for refills. This place does. So our bill was higher than I thought and I knew it was going to be high to begin with."

  • "My husband and I went to the San Antonio Texas de Brazil for an early dinner on New Years Eve. Our dining experience was a good one. The service was excellent. Our table server Coco did was efficient and friendly throughout the evening. The place was packed with people including many large parties who seemed to be having very good times. The meat servers were very polite, quick, and capable. The salads and bisques were outstanding. I would suggest that the restaurant to provide a fish item on the grilled selections. That would be a welcome addition. It was not an intimate dinner for two given the size of their crowd, but, overall it was a nice New Years Eve experience."

  • "If you have never experienced Texas de Brazil, you should definitely try it out. Delicious cute of a variety of meats delivered to your table... Awesome salad bar. Great friendly service. Needless to say, I was not disappointed. Also, try their chocolate mousse cake... It's the best dessert ever."

  • "Texas De Brazil is a must for every meat eater out there. Loved the service. Try to get a table where you have a good view of the acrobatic lady hanging from the ceiling retrieving wines from a 60 ft high celar. Awsome experience."

  • "Since there was just 3 of us us, we decided to have our Thanksgiving feast there instead of buying groceries, cooking, and cleaning ourselves. They had their regular menu available and then added turkey and mashed potatoes. The food was amazing. Most of the meat was extremely tender and tasty. I'm still craving their lobster bisque. The service was spot on. And ambiance is fantastic. It was clean, and decorated very nice. They had a wine ferry for a nice entertainment view. I highly recommend this place."

  • "We love Texas de Brazil - salad bar is very extensive. The meat they bring around is fresh from the grill, waitstaff is very attentive."

  • "I have been to Texas de Brazil a number of times, and this time, as usual, did not disappoint. The meat is cooked and seasoned to perfection. With choices from lamb, beef ribs, top sirloin, filet, pork, chicken, sausage, any carnivore can have their pick of their favorite meat. The salad bar is also better than the other Brazilian style restaurants in San Antonio. It includes the usual salad and fresh vegetables, but they also have hot dishes, like rice and soup. The SOUP!! The soup, to my knowledge, is always a lobster bisque, prepared daily. The bisque is very flavorful, maybe even a bit spicy and it is so good. We frequent this place, just for this decadent soup. Overall a great experience, and we will be back soon."

  • "I have been to this location several times, and have been satisfied with all of my visits. The only thing I can say is that you may want to request to be seated in the main area as sitting off in the side rooms or even on the side of the room, you do not get a lot of attention from the gentlemen serving meat."

  • "The best thing this restaurant has to offer is the valet parking for $10. It's a different style of dining, and it's fun for a special occasion. Our waiter was attentive, and the food was good. It's expensive!"
